Waited 2 months for an appointment. When I made the appointment, the receptionist seemed very agitated that I would do such a thing. On appointment day, the same receptionist needed to verify my insurance after we had done so the day prior on the phone. She called my insurance carrier and stated, in front of other patients, my insurance policy number, my date of birth and the fact that my coverage was "only $100". Again, she gave me and the other patrons waiting the feeling we were a real nuisance. VERY unprofessional staff. I'm pretty tolerant with poor customer service, but this was over the top. The manager excused the issue by saying the receptionist was having a bad day (at 9:00 a.m.) and offered a free eye exam. NO THANKS. Can't imagine trusting my eyesight to this outfit. Eye exams are done without a doctor in the office. I saw my doctor through a screen, and my eyes weren't dilated. The technology is fascinating, but the staff is not. Staff is rude, and seems like they're just trying to get everyone out. No care at all. Staff were rude to each other as well. The woman at the front desk was very snarky and spoke with a harsh tone to the other employees. Everyone seemed very disorganized and didn't seem to know what was going on. When I asked, by phone, whether the store had an Optometrist on site I was told that this was, indeed, the case. Yet, when arriving I was not helped by an Optometrist, but by a Tele Health person. It was explained to me that a few tests were necessary because the "real" Optometrist would be in touch via Zoom. Since I only needed an eye-test to see if I needed stronger lenses, and since just 3 weeks earlier I had been seen by an Opthamologist who had done a great number of tests, I told the person that I did NOT need all these tests. I had begun to understand that these tests at Visionworks were only needed to accommodate a "real" Optometrist. In other words, these tests were not done for my benefits, but for the benefits of Visionworks who saved money by not having to post an Optometrist at all of their stores. There were NO reasons for me to have these tests done, other than accommodate their system. I cancelled the visit. The whole store had a sloppy attitude. When I was asked for my glasses so they could measure the strength of my lenses they told me to sit and wait. After 5 minutes I had not gotten my glasses back and had gotten a headache, I went up to one of the store persons. I finally received them back, with nobody taking responsibility for not returning them to me. I have a rather negative feeling about this place. Oh, did I mention the chairs? There are many chairs for waiting people, but they all look "destroyed" There is not ONE chair without having the plastic ripped off from seats an backs. read more

These Assholes refuse to answer the phone! The Malone store is much better at answering and returning calls! I refuse to use this store ever again! My other issue was a lady walked in without her mask, I said hey you forgot your mask. She replied that she was an employee and it was ok! I told her it wasn't ok and she coped a serious attitude! I would give negative stars if I could. My daughter was there for 2 hours. They could not figure out her balance so overcharged her. Did not give her options for what insurance would cover. Gave her two different prescription. The manager would not call me to fix issues. Every time I called she was conveniently out of the office. Sad we have to travel to get good service. Also would of been nice to notify her she wasn't actually seeing a doctor. Would recommend you go elsewhere for your vision needs. read more

I highly encourage people not to use Empire Visionworks. Employees don't answer the phone I was waiting twenty five minutes for an associate then I had to call back to talk to a doctor and they also fail to answer the phones. Then I called the main number with the same poor results.I was on the phone waiting a total amount of one hour it's ridiculous. I had to hang up without talking to anyone it was a waste of time. I'm so disgusted in trying to get a hold of someone in the store so that my son and eye can go in a get glasses, but no one will answer the phone, last I checked you couldn't get covid-19 by answering your own phone.( Me being annoyed) the first time I called sat on hold for 23 min's, got tired and hung up, I'm currently on hold again this time it's only 14 so far. The recording says make an at visonworks.com, however I've tried that as well, and unless you want an eye exam they can't help you either, there is no other options, eye exam or eye exam for contacts. So stop telling people to go there because that's about as helpful as me sitting on hold, and no one answering. Disgusting that this is how you run your business. read more

I walked in very nervous because I was having a nightmare scenario with my glasses and I didn't have insurance. The staff were so helpful and kind and got me in and out so efficiently when I was expecting the worst. Best staff ever will definitely make them my go to for eye exams and glasses. read more
