Nothing, this location is absolutely terrible, they waste so much time, it takes forever to check in, why do they go over insurance coverage at check in? The customer should already know that. Why do they make you give a FULL medical history everything? WHY was I asked the same questions over and over again? It's super busy and they waste time on things that should be saved in the system if you're a repeat customer. The staff is rude, they don't let you decline without trying to pressure you into it, they just don't take no for an answer! They have you confirm your appointment 65 times and threaten to cancel if you can't respond in 7 minutes, I was haressed via text a million times saying I WOULD BE THERE! I had lenses placed in a frame I owned and was hardly used. I spent 250.00 for lenses. Six months later one started cracking. I assumed they'd make it right. WRONG. No warranty on lenses unless I purchased a frame. So I decided to pay for a new lens. BUT I had to purchase TWO lenses in spite of the fact I only needed one! Really? The company isn't able to make one lens? I was told its policy to require two lenses be purchased. read more

They immediately change their tone the minute you bring up that your child has Autism and needs extra time. I understand there's other doctors, but i decided to bring my business and trust my sons care with you. You not only called three times offering to have him seen somewheres else after finding out, you also went out of your way to make it known that this might waste your time. Ordered new lenses on December 5th. I was told that they would be ready in 7-10 days. On December 7th I received an email stating they would be ready December 19th. On December 14th I received a message that they were delayed. I called the store, like every other customer, but there is no-one to speak to. Amelia the computer generated voice informed me that my order has been delayed to make sure they are correct. They were eager to take my money on December 5th. The past 2 times I have had nothing but trouble with Visionworks. My trip in to pick up the glasses will be my last. read more

I was in the area(Geneva NY) on 2/15/21 and stopped in the store to get a minor repair done to 1 of 2 pairs of glasses I had purchased from this store. The woman that waited on me first asked what I was there for. I told her all I needed was to replace the nose supports(not sure of exact term) on my glasses. She then asked if I had an appointment. I said I did not. Then she told me that it was going to be a while before someone could see me. She was very rude and short tempered with me, so I left the store. There were obviously others that were not happy with the service and wait times as one women walking out with me had mentioned. In the past, I have stop in for this type of repair and someone has ALWAYS taken care of me within a few minutes. It is ashamed that this place is not friendly and personable with their existing customers like they used to be when it was Empire Vision. For years I have purchased my glasses here and now I will be looking else where for eye exams and glasses. What a shame! read more

This location started sending me emails and mailings weeks ago, saying that they are open--please call and make an appointment! Well, my oldest son is desperate for an appointment, so I got right on it. No. One. Answers. The. Phone. Ever. It just keeps going from one automated message to another, playing their incessant hold music. "Please remain on the line, or feel free to visit our website at Visionworks.com for further assistance." Newsflash--the website is no help. The appointment scheduler has been disabled! I've been calling for weeks. Twice I have stayed on hold so long that I have been connected to the automated answering service, who have taken my name and number, and told me that they would have the store get in touch with me. Nope. Nothing. Ever. I guess we will need to look for another provider. So frustrating!!! read more

Geneva ny most rude individuals I've met. I had appt for 2 1/2 months and upon arrival was told my insurance is not good until tomorrow . They claim they called me yesterday but I received no phone call or message. I did get YESTERDAY a message at 9:32am confirming my appointment. So obviously this is a lie. They did not help at all or even offer suggestions for me for a new appointment and just looked at me with blank faces like "your eye care doesn't matter to us". I called insurance and Davis vision in victor ny and they not only were cheerful and friendly but were accommodating under circumstances and for me found an appointment for next Wednesday for an eye exam. Geneva should hire caring CUSTOMER SERVICE reps. I have been going to Geneva for 20 years and always wait excess amount of time even with appointments (30-45 minutes just to see dr). Guess this was a blessing as of now cause although I have to drive an hour hopefully at least I will be in an area with pleasant people who care about customer service and patents! read more

My son forgot his contacts (and had no glasses) during a college visit. Visionworks connected with our hometown optometrist and go us replacement lenses within a half hour on a rainy Saturday morning -- for no charge -- and ensured that he could have a great interview and campus tour. Horrible! Horrible customer service. From trying to make an appointment which took days and days...to finally getting a confirmation. Show up for our appointments and there were at least 5 people ahead of us waiting to be checked in. While we were waiting in line another gentleman was clearly upset about an eye glass order he had made and they got wrong. They had no solution for him. He stormed out very unhappy. We finally get waited on and they don't have us in their system, even though I showed them my confirmation email. All they could do was say we can try and fit you in but we don't know how long the wait will be. Horrible! I was hoping to get new glasses for our trip to Hawaii. Never go back there ever again! This company is terrible. I called 3 times to the Geneva NY office and was on hold for 1-1/2 hours between all 3 calls. Just got the auto attendant and recorded messages - no one ever answered my call. I then called their 800 toll free number - again, on hold for forever and no one ever picked up. Went on line to the "virtual assistant" Amelia, who replied I would be hearing from managment soon, and 2 hours later have not heard a thing. I made three contact attempts on line and still no response. I suggest anyone who is looking for a reliable and responsive company, AVOID Empire Visionworks. Empire Vision works is an amazing place to get great eye exams, glasses and more! Extremely friendly, wait time is less then 5 minutes! All staff is knowledgeable so if you have questions dont be afraid to ask any member of staff. My experience was amazing, I waited less then 5 mins, they helped me with any concerns I had. Well I did not so they had to order the correct lenses. They never called for either pairs of glasses to tell me they were in. Never answer the phone. My daughters have had glasses and contacts there now for weeks. We can't get anyone to answer the dam phones. Looks like they take your business and money up front but don't follow through with getting the glasses and contacts fitted to the people who order. I will never go here again. Prices are outrageous. I got my contacts online for half the price. It was a fight just to get my script. Had to wait a week, idealy to test the contacts they size your for, yet they gave me 2 pairs. I had no way to really know how they were because i wore one pair during the exam day then the 2nd pair a week later for size check. They also sized them wrong. .5 off on base curve also diameter was off making them horribly uncomfortable. Never had a worse experience with eye care anywhere. Makes no sense also to have an assembly style set up and the cost is increased and not reduced.. read more

The staff are horribly rude and failed to mention it'll take 2 and 1/2 weeks for my glasses to be done. All of the staff for extremely spiteful and were not helpful whatsoever, if I had a question I'd ask it and id get eye rolls. The doctor on the other hand was extremely nice and polite but the whole rest of the staff were incredibly rude. read more

The staff is very friendly and they try to be accomodating but it took 3 weeks to get an appointment. It used to be where I could get an appointment within a week. And then even though my appointment was scheduled, I ended up waiting 45 minutes to see the person to screen my eyes. Then I waited another 10 minutes to see the doctor or the virtual doctor. They do not have a doctor on site. I'm not against telemedicine but I had to have a conversation about my eyewear. I wanted to know about some options with contacts and I had a lit of questions. It was hard to feel connected talking to a screen. And I dont feel like I gained any helpful information They notified me when my glasses got in and when I picked them up they were so busy they said it would be 45 minutes before anyone could see me to fit my glasses. I ended going back 3 days later and it seemed less busy but still took 20 min to see someone read more

I've been going to Visionworks (then Empire Vision) since I was in the 7th grade and first got contact lenses. I haven't lived in Geneva in 30 years, but still go back when I'm in town visiting my parents and buy my lenses and glasses only from Visionworks. Dr. Tepfer and the contact lens expert, Patty, are both friendly and competent. The entire staff is helpful and efficient. I'm so impressed with their operation and you will be too. read more
