I just happened to stumble on Advanced Automotive (AA) when my car broke down on RT 138. This area…read moreis pretty rural and trying to get to tow in Hartford was impossible- so I called AA who was less than a 1/2 mile down the street. Bill the owner and his daughter Jess couldn't have been better. They got my car towed to their shop within 15 minutes, outlined the time and price to fix and also was concerned how I was going to get back home (Hartford). My car was fixed in a day, the price- so reasonable (didn't charge for the tow because it was only down the street) and my car runs perfectly. If I was in the area- they would be my go to- local, honest and nice.

You be the judge, don't ever go here. Bill from Advanced…read moreAutomotive refusing to admit any responsibility or even ask his mechanics to even take the time to confirm. Had my 2020 Honda CRV in for a routine oil change. this is the "only" place that has opened the hood since I bought the car in the spring. after the last oil Change the next day less than 24 hours emission's light came on. light came on and off for about 2 weeks then remote starter wouldn't work and light stayed on. took it to the Honda dealership that i bought it from figuring it was covered under warranty. instead they found a pair of pliers with also a sharp cutter combo. clearly it was left in the engine from my last oil change from Advanced Automotive seeing they were the only ones who worked on the car and the warning lights came on the next day. the Pliers were cutting into the wires and needed to replace O2 sensor etc.. Had the Honda dealership fix it for around $380, labor, parts etc. went back to Bill At Advanced Automotive and he denied any responsibility. said it wasn't his tool and it was an electrical tool. no it's a pair of pliers with a wire cutter, pretty common tool covered in years of grease. continues to deny any responsibility. I asked him to check with his mechanic because it looks like he sits at his desk and wouldn't know if someone else left it there. he refused. wouldn't look me in the eyes and I don't really care about the money it's the principle and lying. this was the 3rd time I've had to bring my car back next day on 3 different cars. last time I spent $200 on a tow again next day after leaving his shop for over $3000 on PM services on my 2011 pilot. serpentine belt falls off. never had a problem with my 2011 pilot until the next day of $3k in PM service. his response was "well in hindsight I probably should of replaced the tension pulley". seriously after changing timing belt, flushing all fluid, valve job etc. again pilot was running perfectly fine just wanted to keep up on the PM at 150k. I will be looking for a new reputable mechanic for both of my Hondas. I hope Karma finds Bill!!

Lisbon, CT I have been there three times…read more First I had to jack up my car and take off my wheels in the parking lot to be able to purchase new tires. The reason was, my car is too old, therefor they would not put on the lift. True, it is aGerman old timer but not a clunker. They offered no help or tools to make the process faster. I was the only customer at that time. Second time, with my daily driver also a German car needed a quick oil change out of convenience. 40 minutes later the young mechanic confessed he cannot find the filter house. After I got the golden pass to enter the mighty of all garages I pointed out the filter house. They were fine from there. Third , and fourth time I stopped by to talk someone about a specific tire they seems to have in their online system. I needed to confirm the brand, model and size make sure it isn't a third party scam and not getting "something similar". The store hours states 7AM-7PM but due to short staffing they closed earlier. Please communicate the hours so patrons don't waste their time. Or cross train employees from the front of the house to be able to use the computers and be able to give basic informations about your inventory. The area of the self check outs are conveniently over staffed all the time. Thank you for your time

The manager Keith was so very rude & unkind when he told me to come back tomorrow. He wouldn't set up a service call, take keys or do anything to help me. We ended up having the car towed to another garage where we could leave the keys and they will fix my tires properly. The customer service is horrendous and I will never use the auto center again.
