The old furnace in my house went out a couple months ago and I decided to pull the trigger and invest in a ductless heating and air unit before the end of the year. I'm one of those guys that has to do his due diligence before buying anything, so I froze for a few weeks while I did my research and got a half dozen quotes and assessments to figure out my options. Gary from Smart Home was the second to last one to come out and do a walkthrough, and while just about everyone seemed solid, I appreciated his straightforward and honest approach. He was also the only one to talk about placement options for the 4 heads that seemed to be the most efficient and which appeared to require some creative thinking. With the Holiday madness, it took me a while to find the time to go over all of the quotes I received from everyone. Just about every company kept calling or emailing me every few days to push me into pulling the trigger with them. Gary didn't, which goes a long way in my book. And, when I had the time to compare all of the proposals his was the lowest, by $2,000-$2,500 in a couple cases. After comparing the particular units that each company was going to install, I found that his proposal included one of the highest quality and most efficient heating and air ductless units on the market, so I was sold. We quickly arranged to have a team come out there and install everything a few days later, but when they showed up, because my house is small and funky, the team realized that we would have difficulty installing the condensor where it typically would go. No problem. Gary called me that morning and we again went over creative solutions about where to install it. We decided on mounting the unit up on the back of the house, they got the necessary mounting bracket in two days and had everything installed that day. And they even decided to wave the extra cost of the mounting unit, which I was happy to pay for. Anyway, it's not every day that you can find a contractor of this quality to work with who is honest, straightforward and not pushy. The unit works great, I'm warm again and I'll be recommending these guys to everyone I know. I couldn't be happier.

He made an appointment and kept it (calling ahead of time when he realized he was going to be a bit late). He was clearly very knowledgeable, honest, sincere, and wanted to do the job right. Near the end of the day he texts saying he got "held up". Failed to mention that he had any projects as I thought the Tuesday was my appointed day. Rescheduled and confirmed for Thursday.
