Whatever you do, do NOT give your money to A and A stepping stone in Newcastle. We just paid for…read more100 ft.² of stone veneer and they only gave us 90 ft.² It turned out to be a very stressful and embarrassing situation. Why would they only give someone 90 ft.² when they paid for 100 ft.²? That is not how you do business. I thought I was more than 90 ft.² short and could not get a hold of the manager. She answered the phone one time and after that no one was available to help me. I had to drive almost an hour to pick up the rest of the veneer because my workers had to finish that day. To top it off they blamed my workers for not counting the stone. Why do I need to count the stone when they should be giving me the right amount? They didn't lay out the stone, they just threw it all in a box. My workers had to be at my house for almost 2 extra hours because they didn't give me the right amount. My worker also mentioned that they're usually short when he gets product from there. How does that make any sense? Cheats, that's what they are. I went and got samples and used their bathroom. Next trip I spent $1000 and they wouldn't let me use their bathroom. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience, please take your money elsewhere!! They did end up giving me my extra 10 ft.² but the experience the worst!:/

I had a huge project and A&A gave me an excellent price, low shipping quote, and everything was dropped exactly how and where I wanted it. I had to go there twice to pick up some pieces I forgot and everyone was very helpful. Even though it's more than an hour away from my home, this is now my go-to rock place. I can't thank everyone enough.

I have done business with homewood lumber for 30 years. I used to recomend them to everyone i met…read morein the construction business. The people that worked there bent over backwards to help. Times have changed. I went to the location in roseville near blue oaks where they sell trim and do windows and doors. I think the door shop has moved there also. I went to the reception desk to order some crown that they no longer stock, and i knew that. I asked the girl if she knew an approximate time the truck that delivers the trim delivered there. She said she didnt. I said does someone know maybe in the warehouse what window i would have. She said no. I went to another desk and that lady said the same thing. I was getting annoyed that no one would give me a window. Another guy came out and he said the same thing. I went out to my truck got on the phone to the other home wood in rocklin and jenny said usually by ten but the keleher truck is here now. How come no one at the roseville location knows this. Because they dont want to tske the time to help. I oredered the trim there to be shipped to the rocklin store and they told me my credit card was declined. I gave them my debit card and they told me it was declined. I said i see what you are doing. Left there went to rocklin and ordered my crown there ans asked chris what time keleher gets there and he said there alreday gone but they were early. How come the rocklin homewood formerly meeks knows this and not one of the five people at roseville do. Well its because the folks at rosevill homewood dont care. Thats why i was the only customer in that whole store. I dont use them for doors since ron left and wont go back. I will follow through and get in touch with the corporste office. Thanks jenny who every time i call there knows my name over the phone and Cris at the desk

Great customer services. Great people working there. The customer service is excellent. When you buy something the loaders were loaded on your truck. There's a lot of parking spot. So if you are looking for a door that no one else has, or are you just looking to build a patio that's the place for you to go they will be more than happy to help you

Hastie's Roseville has been my go-to place for dirt, rock and bark needs for over 20 years. The…read morelatest landscape project was to replace an area covered with bark to an upgrade to decorative rock for ease of maintenance. Hastie's has a variety of rock options that nobody else in the region can match. Best pricing, too, and what makes it really good for the homeowner is that you can buy quantities that work for you to avoid waste. From single bag to 1/4 yard increments up to 1 yard and of course whatever large quantity is needed. Still free delivery with a minimum of a four-yard purchase. I've had split loads where they bring two products to my home and still free delivery as long as you have the four-yard minimum. Local store specials on a few products when we can pick up the material without requiring delivery. If you want a small amount, bring a shovel and containers. If you have a pick-up truck Hastie's will load the truck for you using their skip-loaders. Very knowledgeable employees to help us get the product we need and be on our way in minutes. Huge variety of landscape materials. Bulk pricing that also allows us to buy small quantities at reasonable prices, and convenient delivery when needed. Always a good experience working with Hastie's employees and the product has always met expectations. Open Monday thru Saturday. A++

We needed to replenish some of the lava rock in our backyard. We weren't sure how much we needed,…read moreso asked someone at the office if they could give us an idea of what a cubic yard looked like. He showed us a bulldozer's bucket/scooper, and said filled up it's one cubic yard. That was more than we needed, but half that seemed about right. If you want to take home the rock you buy (instead of having it delivered), here's what happens. First, you pay for what you want in the office. Then, they will (quickly) get someone to scoop it up. If you have a pickup, they can dump it right into your truck bed. We had a station wagon, and brought a bunch of boxes and 5-gallon buckets to fill up. So in that case, they made a pile of the half cubic yard, and left it to us to fill up our containers. (We'd brought a shovel, too.) Here are a few things I learned: 1). Do not come soon after it rains. Especially if you're buying lava rock. We got a lot of lava mud mixed in, and all the rock was wet. 2). A half cubic yard is much bigger than it looks! If you need to put rocks down to a 3" depth over a large area, you're going to need many cubic yards. But if you just need some to fill up areas here and there, a quarter cubic yard would have been plenty. In fact, after filling up two 5-gallon buckets, and three very large cardboard boxes, we couldn't take any more. 3). We bought 3/4". I'd estimate that only about 75% are between 1/2" to 1". The rest are bigger or smaller. Also, a guestimate of 2%-3% aren't even lava rocks. This pretty much matches what was already in our backyard (from another source), so I guess that's just the way these are sorted/sold. We needed some bags to store most of what we got for future use. I asked the man in the office, who was nice and helpful, if we could leave the rest of the rocks, and instead get some of the bags they sell. He gave me ten of them (they sell for $2 each), which I thought was very nice of him. (He did say we could instead leave the rocks there, dump our containers, and come back for the rest. But we really didn't need that many!)
