I try not to leave negative reviews but the way the owner and manager approach business I feel a negative review is deserved. I brought in a few silk shirts that had light coffee stains. The shirts were returned with stains but of course I was charged. I asked for them to try and get the stains our since there is no point to iron then ans charge me and that it was coffee not grease or oil. They refused. The front desk woman was wonderful and very considerate. I asked that the manager call me. A few days later I stopped by to speak to them and she said that they refuse to speak to me and that Essentially I should pound sand. I was taken aback. If I could give zero stars I would: I have been going to this location for over twenty years spanning 3 different owners. The current owners have run the place for several years. I bring my work uniforms here including white dress shirts, blazers, ties and pants. A couple months ago I noticed that my expensive dress shirts all had a light brown tinge to them and were spotty/mottled. I took them back to the cleaners to see what happened and I was told that it was caused by something in my work environment or my own body. They denied any responsibility. My thought? First, I have been doing the same job as a pilot for over 25 years. The environment hasn't changed. Two, I shower everyday. I have no doubt that this is a result of their negligence...either human error such as over-pressing or faulty/dirty machinery. If they were honest, they would have taken responsibility and they would have offered some sort of restitution. I spend a few hundred dollars every month in their shop. Also when I brought up the issue, the owner quickly walked away and let their worker to deal with me. Cowardly. I took my shirts to another cleaner in Esco and they let the shirts soak overnight and did everything they could to take out the stains. Unsuccessful. They told me that based on the brown pattern on my dress shirts it was most likely a dirty machine followed by the pressing which sealed the stain into the shirts. Six of them! Don't go here. It's expensive and they aren't honest people. I wouldn't risk ruining your clothes. It's not worth it and they won't take responsibility. read more

I have been a customer since 2018 and spent hundreds of dollars at this dry cleaner and there have been multiple issues that have alarmed me. Firstly they OVERCHARGE you on purpose. They try to get as much money from you as they can without doing their job. I gave them a simple short dress and they charged me for a "fancy" dress. There was NOT a single bead or decoration on the dress so why would they charge me $19 to clean a mini dress? Worse it wasn't spot cleaned and therefore not cleaned at all. I'm sick of resubmitting my clothes and having to come back every few days. With the reduced hours it makes it that much more difficult to keep coming back. I am currently disputing a charge with them regarding a simple hem on a brand new pant. They completed messed it up the first time so I had to resubmit it and they charged me for it! I paid $18 for a hem that they had to redo! Then I came back a few days later AGAIN and saw that they had stained my brand new pants while hemming it! I still had the tags on it! So yet again I had to leave my clothes there any come back. When I came back the owner Mrs. Lee was extremely rude and just wanted more money for me. She even accused me of not paying even though the records are right there in her system! DO NOT GO TO THIS DRY CLEANER. They are RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, they don't clean the clothes properly, they take shortcuts and they OVERCHARGE. They will mess up your clothes! I brought in ten items to be cleaned. And that's where my trouble started. I left thinking $65 was a little pricey, but I accepted it. I also left frustrated having to spell "Dane" four times to them, and seeing "Dande" on the receipt was annoying. Then to my surprise at pickup I was charged $75. After I realized I was overcharged she said it was because they miscounted my clothing and that next time if I want it cheaper just don't do dry clean, choose the other option it's half the price and basically the same thing. I have been a customer nearly 4 years. I have never had one complaint with cleaning, service, timeliness or any of the staff. This is a first class business, owned and operated by an impressive husband/wife team along with their other cleaning outlet in Rancho Santa Fe. I can't say enough about the counter staff and their excellent customer service. They spring into action as you walk through the door and frequently one person handles the payment, one person retrieves any clothes waiting for pick-up and even a third may offer assistance or at least say "Hello." There is always a smile and a greeting when you walk in and if you have a special need, they will take down ever detail and quickly tell you how they can solve the problem. Prices are in line with their competitors but they excel at customer service and quality cleaning that sets them apart from other local cleaners. Just as an example, their packaging of shirts, suits, curtains and large bed coverings is better than most cleaners. Also, the inventory system for items cleaned seems to work flawlessly since I have never seen them have to "hunt" for an item that I have come in to pick up on my one or two visits a week. Lastly, if you need a quick repair to an item, the owners both have the ability to sit down at their sewing machine and have you satisfied within minutes. read more

Took a jacket in that wasn't able to be cleaned and not only did they say it couldn't be cleaned, they still charged me $18. I addressed this with the manager and her response was flippant and horrible. If you are a service company and can't provide the proper service; customers shouldn't be charged. Have been here twice now. The first time I go during normal posted business hours and walk in under the sign "expert alterations" and see three people working. None of them know how to do alterations, "come back another time" with no specific date or time given. The second time I am in the area getting gas and see it is open and happen to have my suit with me wanting to shorten the sleeves exactly an inch... they won't take it "oh I'm sorry, the lady that does the alterations is only going to be here tomorrow"... Apparently you need to be an expert tailor to tell the "lady that does the alterations" to shorten the sleeves an inch. Fantastically horrible customer service two times in a row. I've had my leather jacket for years. It recently got a rip in the material so I decided to take it to Empire to get it stitched. Since I've never cleaned it I also decided to get it dry cleaned. The jacked was sewed but completely ruined from the cleaning. I argued with the manager for 10 minutes and said I was going to walk out without paying anything. They didn't like that and argued that they have to pay the seamstress for the work that was done. When i went to go pick it up the lady told me that the jacket needed to be dry cleaned one more time to get the smell out. If I could give ZERO stars I would. I recently dropped off two Navy uniforms to have four patch alterations per uniform and dry cleaning performed. When I dropped my uniforms off, the staff never mentioned the alteration price not being included in my $31.50 total receipt price. In fact, the receipt indicated the patches on the receipt. When I went to pick up the front desk stuttered as she told me I owed $85.90. THAT IS ALMOST TRIPLE THE PRICE ON MY RECEIPT! I debated with the front desk for a few minutes to no avail and requested the owner be contacted to correct the issue. Needless to say the owner did not offer any resolution and continued to validate the ridiculous price. Did I mention the cleaners had my phone number to contact me prior to conducting any work knowing it would be triple the price. This place is not military friendly or customer friendly.
