Ms. C.

I remember their empanadas being so much better pre COVID. Bought 4 today - cost me $15. Which is pretty ridiculous, considering the size. The empanada dough tasted really old too. Not worth it if you're looking for lunch in the area.

Really good and convenient empanada food truck for those looking for a quick bite or are on the go! They have great options from empanadas to sides. I usually have always gotten the lunch/dinner special which is 3 empanadas, 2 sides and a soda for ~$10 -- awesome deal. Their food is very traditional, flavorful and fresh. Just a heads up, they don't accept the "check in offer" for 2 free empanadas. Apparently they've discontinued it for 6 months but it's still on here.

Super convenient and tasty! The pork and chicken were great! The PB&J was a little weird, I don't know if I'd get it again. The taste combination of the empanada skin and the PB&J was a little off putting + the fact that chunky peanut butter is used. But other than that, the other flavors were great! I'll definitely get more.

Lizzie F.

The empanadas are amazing! The lunch special is $12 and I got a mac and cheese, veggie, & apple/cinnamon empanada with rice and maduros on the side plus a can of soda. The veggie one had so much more flavor than one I got somewhere else so I was really happy about that. My boyfriend also got the lunch special and a nutella banana empanada which was so yummy! Forgot to take a picture of the food because we were so hungry and ate the food in the car lol. Definitely coming back again :)

Tina I.

Came back and tried all the empanadas after a delicious first try. The wait time is minimal, especially considering you get some fiery hot empanadas for just a few minutes of standing around. I had an opportunity to try one of each empanada, and the tostones. The beef was probably the favorite, followed by the chick and mac n' cheese (very rich and delicious). A surprising contender was the turkey empanada--definitely worth getting again. The shrimp was the least favorite, but only because there was a spice (I can't put my finger on it) that we weren't a fan of. Otherwise, if you happen to enjoy seafood, worth a try.

This place is a rip off they are expensive and there's barely a tablespoon of meat in there! I mean come on look at this flat thing and that was the middle of it! You better eat at Burger King before u go because those poor excuse for an empanada aren't going to fill you! Never again

Pretty good empanadas. I'm not sure if they ever switch around their location but when I went there it was parked by the Pep Boys in Baldwin. It was a short wait when there was no one else on line - maybe about five or six minutes before I receive my order. The woman serving them was very nice. I'd definitely stop by again.

For a food truck, the food is great! I have been wanting to write a review for Empanada Queen since last year! Ever since they started occupying their spot on Sunrise Highway, I knew this joint would have amazing food. They are literally right around the corner from my house in North Baldwin. There are not too many empanada places in Nassau County. They have dessert empanadas too and they're the BOMB!! Their lunch and dinner deal caught my eye immediately: 3 empanadas of choice, 2 sides, and a drink. One disclosure, they close by 5 PM :(. So if I'm out of work by 4 pm in Levittown, I make sure I get there before they close! :) Oh! And now they accept credit cards as a form of payment, they used to only accept cash so that's a plus! :)

Dee R.

I thought I had the best empanadas at mamas empanadas until I found this hidden gem randomly driving down sunrise highway. The best empanadas I had hands down. You can tell they are made from love. I really like that there's so much to choose from and the option to make it a meal and get different options. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place!!

Very good empanadas. I liked the pork especially. I usually like my empanadas crunchier and oilier, but these are good too.

Passed by the truck today and made a U-turn. Best decision of the weekend!!! Ordered 3 combos. They are literally the best empanadas I've ever had and she deserves to call herself the QUEEN. We couldn't stay to eat outside but the setup is really cute. I had the shrimp, turkey and Mac and cheese empanadas with sweet plantain and black beans. They had beef and shrimp rice beans and tostones. Might go back later. read more

I love love love empanada queen I haven't tried their dessert empanadas yet but I can tell you that their regular empanadas have no imperfections and the sides are 100% the best the white rice and black beans are my favorite the only negative thing I can say about them is that they don't deliver and their not on grubhub,Uber eats, or doordash. Hopefully they start using one soon. read more

I'd heard about the empanadas from here a while ago, but wasn't able to try them until today. They were soooooo good!! They are very well seasoned & flavorful. I picked up an assortment of fillings and they were all good. I waited just a few minutes for my order and was happy everything was hot when I got home. I saw that they have dessert varieties as well, but didn't try them today so I have something to look forward to for next time! read more

Holy F this place is good. The empanadas are so fresh. The truck is pulled by a beautiful, bright red hummer and parked infront of Pep Boys. I can eat these Empanadas until I pop. They're authentic and fresh every time. Thank god they sell big boxes because I literally order AT LEAST 10+ when I go there. Their dessert empanadas are just as good as the regular empanadas. Highly recommended. Sometimes it says the truck is "open" but It's not there. Maybe i just have bad timing.... i dont know... but what i do know is that this place is still worth it. read more

I love that it's a husband and a wife & once again the food was just flavorful. The menu had lots of choices to choose from and the prices were very very reasonable. Once we arrived the waiter had sat us down in the dining area which had a very cute vibe . Very clean and the decor was just right to set the mood. We had ordered empanadas for an appetizer... I was a little disappointed that they weren't hand made but the generic empanadas had a good taste overall. I ordered a chicken burrito and it was filled to the gill with lots of chicken and the works. It was delicious.... I put some green sauce on it and it enhanced the taste the way I like it. My cousin ordered an Iberia taco bowl and that didn't disappoint... fully loaded with lots of everything ... we both enjoyed the food ... We are from Chile and my mother has always enjoyed having food from our beloved country, so it was natural that we would visit San Antonio and happy occasion. As we entered, the bakery looked fine, but the woman attending seemed to have an attitude when she motion for us to go on to get seated. The dining room that had always been decorated with murals and paintings was now all bare brick walls. We sat down and waited for the rest of our party to arrive while ordering a few empanadas.. The shot came when we were presented menus, which had shrunk down to 1/3 the size and gone up at least 35 to 40% in cost.. the empanadas we ate were mediocre at best. After the rest of the party arrived, no one came to the table for at least 10 minutes at which point we decided it was not a good place to have a celebration. It was a very disappointing experience for what had been a good restaurant.

Their new pricing is what you would find for a "better" sit down/dine in restaurant. Not sure if pricing differs from in person and online ordering but a meal for $28 for a place that looks like a take out spot doesn't seem right. I understand the pressures of inflation and food costs but they raised their prices significantly compared to like restaurants around the area. Will likely not be returning and will save my Tex Mex cravings for when I'm in Queens. Shoutout to Taco King in Forest Hills!
