Drove by this food truck & managed to convince my boyfriend to stop and grab a few empanadas for a snack. The lunch/dinner special is $12 for 3 regular empanadas, 2 sides, and a soda - truly a steal!!! We ordered the beef, pork, & chicken to try the different fillings, and they did not disappoint. Each empanada is fried to order and piping hot, and the fillings are generous and perfectly seasoned. I surprisingly liked the shredded chicken the most, but really any of the 3 were good. The salsa verde for the empanadas is to die for, & really packs a spicy punch!! We shared an order, but for 1 person, this would definitely suffice as an entire meal. I truly can say we have never been disappointed. My personal favorites are their shredded chicken & their Nutella Banana dessert empanadas. The sides are all outrageously good as well. I recommend the tostones which are perfectly cooked & never too greasy. Beans & rice are a must. Maduros, a little greasy but always cooked @ perfect over-ripeness. Honestly, I ordered food, and this lady swore I'd run off with food that wasn't even in my hand. Idk what type of psd situation she had in the post, but I paid her and watched her every move. People love this place... To be transparent ...its okay. Woohoo! You can make your empanadas and be just fine with the supplies at any local supermarket. The empanadas are amazing! The lunch special is $12 and I got a mac and cheese, veggie, & apple/cinnamon empanada with rice and maduros on the side plus a can of soda. The veggie one had so much more flavor than one I got somewhere else so I was really happy about that. My boyfriend also got the lunch special and a nutella banana empanada which was so yummy! Came back and tried all the empanadas after a delicious first try. The wait time is minimal, especially considering you get some fiery hot empanadas for just a few minutes of standing around. I had an opportunity to try one of each empanada, and the tostones. The beef was probably the favorite, followed by the chick and mac n' cheese (very rich and delicious). A surprising contender was the turkey empanada--definitely worth getting again. The shrimp was the least favorite, but only because there was a spice (I can't put my finger on it) that we weren't a fan of. Otherwise, if you happen to enjoy seafood, worth a try. read more

Their lunch and dinner deal caught my eye immediately: 3 empanadas of choice, 2 sides, and a drink. One disclosure, they close by 5 PM :(. Empenada Queen has the actual best empenadas that I have tried in the area. To start, the empenadas have a crispy golden outside, just the perfect crust. And the insides are even better. The beef was seasoned perfectly. The seasoning made the meat even better and more savory. This was coupled with the delicious citrus and spice of the sauce which comes along with them. Some of if not the best empanadas in Long Island!! If you are driving on Sunrise in Baldwin while they're open definitely make a stop, if you know you're going to drive past it. Call in an order, they are quick efficient and delicious. After finishing boxing training in Freeport I called in my order of three empanadas, maduro and a water, it was ready in the 5-10 minutes it took me to get there.
