This DOC promised me the world and more for my October 2023 wedding. We'll fast forward to August 2023 meeting with my venue, I was alone and freaking out. My DOC (not Carla) bailed on me for the venue meet, and made me feel like I was panicking for no reason with a timeline that will be formulated week before wedding. (Again not Carla) Thanks to my maid of honor coming through with an amazing recommendation, I was given Carlas's number after feeling defeated and upset with my previous DOC not supporting me or showing up for me when necessary. After 2 hour conversation with myself and my mom, I immediately felt at ease with Carla. My concerns were validated as "No way should a timeline be started 1 week before event". With many tears had during our initial conversation, that night I slept the best I had in all my wedding planning with Carla coming to my rescue and the rest is history. Details Made Simple is just that, Details Made Simple. From hiring (DMS) that August evening to my wedding on October 7, 2023, I was in The best hands Possible!!! We had a few phone calls in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and the month leading up to the wedding, myself and Carla were in contact regularly. She never hesitated to answer and email, a text or a phone call. I received updated timelines in my email on the regular, she contacted any vendors with whatever tasks were still not done, to her absolutely loving on my 3 year old niece on my wedding day, Carla was like having an extremely organized "family"member take charge and make sure myself, my husband and my bridal party had nothing to worry about on the wedding day. I can not speak highly enough about DMS services, professionalism and overall delivery of event planning. Carla, I am forever grateful to you! P.S. For our wedding day, we had Tara as our wedding coordinator and we absolutely adored her. She checked in a few days before the wedding and the morning of to see how I was doing and even went out of her way to bring me a copy of the New York Times so we could photograph our wedding announcement. She did a really good job of reminding us not to worry about the small details and just to go with the flow of the day. We had comments from our family and wedding guests that "the people running our event" did a really good job because the day flowed perfectly. I really appreciated her calm and positive energy throughout the day. I have no idea whether anything went wrong on our wedding day because she literally took care of everything. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, we had many vendors tell us, completely unsolicited, that Christine, Tara and the EAP team are the best in the business in NYC. Over the course of planning our 400-person wedding (during an eight-month period), Jessica became our confidante and friend. We could throw any problem her way (last-minute cancellations, strange requests from guests, vendor contract issues) and trust her to handle it with grace, timeliness, and proper etiquette. Our wedding was not logistically easy (e.g., separate ceremony and reception venues, guests staying at a myriad of hotels throughout NYC, disparate rehearsal dinner and post-wedding brunch locations), but Jessica never once complained or described any request as out of the scope of her contract, though many requests were. Moreover, Jessica included every wedding event in her contract (including the wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and brunch), whereas other planners whom we interviewed would not. Consequently, we felt that we received incredible value for our money. We simply would not have gotten the same level of energy and responsiveness from other planners. Jessica is highly motivated, and as a result, she operates with unparalleled enthusiasm, poise, and energy. Specifically, these are a few examples of ways in which our wedding presented challenges, which Jessica confronted with total grace (never flustered or overwhelmed): 1) It was the first wedding of such a large size to take place at our wedding venue. Jessica's creativity had us using every inch of space. 2) We had the ceremony at a nearby historic synagogue, which was strict regarding permissible ceremony alterations and decorations. 3) We wanted the whole event to be kosher, including at the reception venue, which does not have many kosher wedding. Jessica was incredibly helpful in partnering with our kosher caterer who had to build out a separate temporary kitchen. 4) The "Head of Events" at our reception venue changed three times after we signed our contract. Jessica made friends with everyone, which ensured us that we would have a successful wedding celebration even though there was little continuity with the venue's personnel. 5) We wanted assigned seats for each guest, so each seat had a personalized menu. 6) There were three different spaces we wanted to use at the venue, and each had to be decorated and prepared in a different style. 7) We had a big bridal party with 12 bridesmaids and 12 groomsmen, who all had to be entertained and ready for pictures at different times. Jessica handled all of these obstacles and more with aplomb. Every interaction with Jessica was positive, solutions-oriented, and proactive. We could throw any issue her way and know that it would be handled efficiently and efficaciously. We were thrilled with our wedding. It was a magical night that we will never forget, and we owe Jessica BIG TIME for making it so special and for making the planning process more than tolerable--it was actually fun. It was never difficult to get a hold of our planner, she never pushed us off to an assistant. Words could seriously not describe how grateful I am to her. She did a fantastic job from start to finish. When I was having trouble articulating, she read my mind and put exactly what I was thinking into words. When my wedding dress wasn't right less than two weeks before the wedding, she was there for me, got in her car and brought it to a seamstress she trusts and it was resolved within the week. When multiple rounds of invite proofs came out, she would already have a list of feedback for the artist before I could even open my mouth, and all of it was exactly what I was thinking. She became my brain and I am unbelievably impressed with her talent. And finally, for a normally very anxious person, I have never felt more calm than I did the days leading up to my wedding and even the day of, to the point my family was worried about me (ha), and I completely owe that to Nicole and her team. Working with Nicole was a fantastic experience - she was always very professional, whether dealing with us, or venue, or vendors, but also has a casual, relaxed approach to planning that made communicating our ideas very easy. Right from the get-go, Nicole made sure everything was in one place and organized, putting together an online folder of all our documents, the timeline, the outstanding questions, and pictures of ideas on Google Drive. From there, Nicole was always available to answer our questions; whether we sent an email first thing in the morning, late at night, or over the weekend, Nicole was always there to respond promptly, even for the ridiculous questions, tiniest details, or confirmations we asked for three, four, and more times. She also made our lives much easier in terms of taking over all the vendor communication and making sure each small detail was taken care of, especially the last few weeks leading up to the wedding; she made working with nearly a dozen different vendors and coordinating all of those moving pieces seem easy! Aside from the coordination itself, we also hired Nicole to help out with the design and decor to help our vision come to life. While we had an idea of how we wanted our wedding to feel, we had no idea how to make it happen. Nicole was constantly giving us ideas, sending over examples, and offering to provide various pieces that she had available. Ultimately, everything came together perfectly and we couldn't have had the feel and charm that our big day had without Nicole helping us make our vision a reality. I didn't know exactly what a wedding planner did or if I needed one. Trust me you need a wedding planner especially Ashley! My husband and I refer to her as our angel, she made every stressful moment melt away. Ashley basically choreographs the evening from beginning to end, she makes sure everything gets delivered on time, staff is present, wedding favors, decorations, guestbook, polaroid cameras everything is accounted for. She makes sure the place settings are perfect that all name tags are in the right spot at the right table, that my husband and I are comfortable the entire night and that guests have everything they need. What doesn't she do? She starts planning with you months in advance, she gave us a timeline with due dates so we knew what we needed to be accountable for, I loved this. On your wedding day she is the first one there and the last one to leave making sure everything gets broken down swept up and left cleaner than you found it. I was so nervous the day of my wedding I forgot to bring my vows she had them printed on site. She was available at all times throughout the planning process. I was late in the game to find a dress and she came with me so I didn't have to go alone. We were in the heart of Brooklyn running around in the rain and we found my dream dress. I can't say enough great things about her, she is just a real down to earth hard working woman who is smart, sweet, and the kind of person you want to have at your side when you want your day to be perfect. She is very organized, has a great understanding of where to go based on the style of dress you're looking for, has great recommendations for veils, flowers, music, photography, really anything you need. So at first I was like I can do this on my own but then about a month to the wedding I got overwhelmed so I went on theknot.com to try to find some help. I actually called a few other planners but once I spoke to Janelle I knew I was signing up. She listened to my ideas but was honest & trust me honesty IS the best policy in this type of relationship! I was planning a blinged out event but I had no bling & my ideas were all over the place. Janelle helped me turn my ideas into a vision & that vision into a reality. She coordinated the florist and turned my venue into a wonderland, she stayed up with me after midnight going through the guest list & the seating chart & even got me a beautiful mirrored seating chart that just blew my guests away. At the last minute (the week before the wedding) my photographer wanted to charge an extra fee & for that amount Janelle got me the most amazing photographer! I mean I went from having 1 photographer to having 2 photographers AND a videographer who were able to put a spectacular slideshow together during the event & everyone was marveled & stunned thinking how did they do that! Like I can't thank her enough!!! She saved my big day!!! She made sure I had everything I needed & wanted. Even my husband was impressed! My mother who is very hard to please was impressed! I mean Janelle went above & beyond. She went to my fitting with me. She spoke on my behalf when my venue was trying to box me in. She held my hand & listened to me with all the issues I was having (friends & family). She even did something special at the end of the night that she knew I wanted but my funds were depleted & I was blown away!!!! I was unsure how to make sure that I was getting the right person so I asked for a few samples and references from everyone. Janelle of Kayla Belle was the only one who got me what I was requesting, made me feel like she was actually listening to me about what I needed/wanted and provided great references. She was available for all of my emails and calls and foresaw things that I had no idea I needed/wanted. Seriously, there were all of these things that I didn't even think about and, as Janelle kept saying, "Don't worry about it, we made it happen." There is a LOT that goes into a loft wedding as we have to bring in all rentals, linens, decorations, flowers, etc and Janelle coordinated everything. She even brought an assistant to help, knowing that I had bitten off more than I could chew. On the day of, though, everything went swimmingly and it was literally all thanks to Janelle. I think my wedding would've just been a series of tables in a corner with flowers haphazardly strewn about if it hadn't been for the most amazing person in the world, Janelle.
