I called again this morning and finally spoke with a supervisor who basically blamed it on my bank (even though she said she wasn't trying to do that). Even though she was apologetic, I found her to be very patronizing. I don't have my money back yet...we will see how long it takes this time. This has never happened with any other store, so I believe it is an issue with Vineyard Vines. Not sure I want to shop here again...not worth the aggravation!

I almost never have given a business establishment a 1-star rating, but there's always time for a first. You know how almost every reputable place trains their sales associates to greet customers who enter the store? I walked by several employees and not a single one even asked me if they could help me. What also was upsetting was that I was obviously getting dismissive looks from some of the sales associates. What they didn't know was that I was there to meet a female friend (I'm male), and she was in the store when all this was happening. Now granted, as a husky male (230+) not wearing any fashionable clothing like Lululemon or Nike, I guess I didn't look like I fit the profile of someone who is going to drop $98 for a pair of Salutation Stash Pocket II tights. But you'd think that even one of the several sales associates milling around would have wondered if I had a girlfriend who might like something from Athleta. And the reality is that their clothes are very attractive, so I understand why so many women wear them in yoga class. Another bizarre thing is that there is no place to sit in the entire store except at the entrance of the dressing room area. Since I've been dealing with some lower back problems, I opted to sit in one of the only two chairs in the entire place while waiting for my female friend to select and try things. There are two stacks of sales circulars: one for Athleta and the other for a clothing line called Hill City. I thought that this was bizarre because I didn't see anything from that Hill City catalogue displayed in the store. When I left the store, my female friend was really upset because she overheard people in the store making snide remarks about me. Since I went in the morning, there weren't a lot of people so it was pretty easy for her to hear what people were saying in the store. She also said that the negative looks some of the sales associates were giving really upset her. I actually have grown up used to people saying all sorts of seriously negative things about me (usually outright racist), so I've learned to just ignore it. I didn't get a racist vibe from the people at Athleta. It was more a bunch of disapproving looks like I didn't belong in the store. And to be honest, maybe there's some truth to it because I'm obviously not buying anything in the store for myself because all of the clothes there are for females. But it's kind of funny that several male friends and I were talking recently about how we feel odd doing things with our girlfriends or female friends, such as accompanying them when they shop for lingerie, and then this happens. But my experience at places like Victoria's Secret have been okay, so this experience was unexpected. I would never suggest any guy (i.e. male) go into this store. It could be that Athleta wants to create a space that only females feel comfortable. So be it. But as a guy who has purchased plenty of Lululemon gear for females, I guess I'll just keep on going that route.

Some items are grown on the farm some sourced from other farms and some just regular grocery items that you would find at any generic supermarket. The vegetables that were grown on this farm were all marked and were fabulous but they were very far and few between. they were selling some local farms goods which increased the options of locally grown. I did like the bread section some locally made in some generic.. they also have foods that are prepackaged. I like the items that were made at the farm. The others were just overpriced generic items. all in all I'd say about 40 to 50% is grown and produced, the rest are just basic generic grocery items with a higher price on them. The space is fabulous very refreshing and comfortable to walk around. the staff always seems nice, polite, and willing to answer questions. I definitely suggest that you stop in as it is a great place to shop. as for parking, they have a huge private parking lot and space outside to sit. They also have greenhouse plants for sale.

As neighborhood hardware stores go, this place is the genuine article. They have a wide range of fasteners (sold by the piece, not in poly-bags!), plumbing and electrical items appropriate to the kinds of houses found in the neighborhood, lawn and garden supplies, cleaning supplies, paint and -- most of all -- a very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. (Ooops, I almost forgot to mention a handsome and somewhat aloof Maine coon cat named "Hershey" who protects the lawn and bird seed from mice and provides the store with senior management.) I've been involved in construction and renovation work for many years, and this kind of hardware store is getting difficult to find. ( I was working with a carpenter installing a huge Andersen bay window which is supported by internal wire cables. Atlas True Value had large turnbuckles, 10" through bolts and wire rope clamps all in stock. ) As might be expected, they're a little bit more expensive than the big-box Lowes and Home Depot, but I frequently find they're more economical because I can get first-quality items in the quantity I need and I don't have to spend the time and gas money to go miles when I need something. My only complaint is that they shorten their business hours during the summer months and close a little earlier on Sundays.

I was really impressed with the level of customer service! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Kara-Beth, who explained the store and the concept to me. It is owned by the same company that owns Wayfair and all the furniture in the store can be delivered to you in a matter of days. Some selections arrive as whole pieces, some are self assembly a la IKEA and you can also request a service that they have in partnership with Angie's (formerly Angie's List) where you can request assembly at the time of delivery. They have a nice selection of mostly mid-century looking and some more modern pieces including a lot of chairs and a few sofas. The pieces are definitely a step up from IKEA in appearance, but not as nice as West Elm, IMO. Most of the chairs I was eyeing are in the $300-$400 range and they had a sale going at the time I visited where there was an extra 15% off. What really impressed me more than the furniture was the thoughtful and personalized service. When I explained where I was looking to set up the chairs I was considering, Kara-Beth explained that it might be wise to consider swivel chairs so that people sitting side by side could orientate to themselves to face each other more comfortably during conversations. I never would have thought to consider it! What a great suggestion. I will definitely consider this store for future furniture purchases and it's so nice to know they can deliver quickly as we had to wait quite a long time to get a sofa from West Elm during peak COVID times.

For example, if you paid around $300 for a bassinet that's still in excellent condition, you may only be offered around $20 for it. The store may then resell it for $50 to $75. While I understand these businesses need to make a profit, the amount offered to sellers felt far too low to make it worthwhile. In my opinion, you're better off selling your items yourself through a local marketplace or giving them to a family in need.
