I called Daniel earlier this month when I got word that my senior parents' 3-level home had suffered water damage from top to bottom -- in other words, a massive job. I was out-of-town helping remotely, and after calling Dry Kings (another great company!), they informed me that EP was the best for content removal. Reached out to Daniel to explain the situation and w/o missing a beat he offered to turn right around from the East Bay and head back to SF to meet my parents. Worth noting, because it was late afternoon and he was minutes from home- close to finishing his day. He braved the traffic back on our account! In no time flat, he was at the home where my parents were overwhelmed, scared, and anxious about the entire situation. Daniel is very professional/warm and quickly brought a sense of calm along with a plan of action. He inspires confidence and has clearly honed a process that is efficient/seamless for all parties involved -- the families, packout company, and insurance providers. He walked through the entire home with a 3D camera that captures the state of the home and items affected -- which is an incredible resource for insurance. He sent me the link to view the 3D walk-through which was vital for me & my nerves given that I was across the country at the time. Early the next morning, Daniel had arranged a wonderful team of 6 people, led by Matt, to begin removing, cataloging, packing, and inventorying all of our belongings/furniture etc. It's incredibly thoughtful/detailed work and the team was kind/patient and had an amazing work ethic. They were on the premises FT/on-time from Tues-Sat so this gives you a sense of scope. Daniel also came out a couple of days into the project to assess progress and support his team. I got the pleasure to thank him for how kind he was to have responded so quickly the day of the incident. Daniel and EP also worked well with our landlord's water restoration company who was there to deal with water removal/drying of the home. He proactively offered to take the "middleman" work off my plate and called the company to coordinate/de-brief. Also, when the landlord needed more items removed on a quicker schedule so his team could move more quickly to further dry/ prevent mold accrual, Daniel arranged for the team to come on Sat. to finish the job, which had required Daniel to shift some things around to meet that request. I was very grateful to the team for that accommodation which immediately solved/calmed our landlord's needs/concerns and allowed for the restoration team to make a ton of progress that weekend. Finally, much needs to be said of the on-site team. The on-site project manager Matt was a great leader with a high emotional IQ and did an excellent job communicating between the family, his team, the landlord's restoration company, and Daniel. Trustworthy, he was never annoyed by questions, very patient, and was particularly sweet to my Mom who was having a hard time processing what had happened. Matt was very genuine (nothing I hate more than "fake-nice") and the same goes for Yoselin, Jamie, Jose, Mike, and Anna - who were the other team members on this job. It also made a difference to be able to speak with some of the team in Spanish, it made us feel like we had friends/family helping us, if that makes sense. :) It's still crappy to have to clean-up after an incident like this but near the end, everyone had been invited to Thanksgiving dinner! We were able to get some good laughs in along the way which were much needed! Companies often have slogans about "caring" and being "kind" etc...blah blah blah! However, EP, Matt, Daniel, Yoselin, Jaime, Jose, Mike, and Anna -- they each delivered both in terms of quality of work and respect for the client which is unfortunately very rare these days. Also, as an adult child that manages my senior parents' affairs, I'm sure you can relate on the importance of hiring ethical contractors/professionals. Seniors are often taken advantage of or their fears manipulated -- something I am very sensitive to -- and that was definitely not the case here. We were having great difficulty getting repairs made to our refrigerator that was accidentally damaged during a move. Once Matt was given responsibility for moving things along, he worked tirelessly and doggedly with the refrigerator manufacturer's appliance factory service department to secure a competent technician to make required repairs, and to ensure that a third (previously overlooked) required part was ordered and shipped to our home. We had 3 sewage back-ups, with all the attendant damage and toxic problems. The scheduling of all the people who needed to do work was overwhelming. Emergency Packout was great about working around our schedules, planning how to get everything moved out, stored and replaced all in the exact time they estimated, but even better, they were always there to answer questions, make adjustments, and best of all, calming me down, saying everything was going to be alright and here's how we'll help you. Due to a pipe leak which damaged our floor, we had to move all of our stuff out to prepare for the floor repair. We were so worried we won't be able to move everything out on time. I had never heard of Emergency Packout before having a water line ruptured at my home. They where on time, very professional and listen to us and took care of everything! They packed out our belongings from my house due to water damage repairs (covered by my homeowners ins.) that had to be made by another vendor, but they did Not follow my instructions. I wanted things packed a certain organized way, & did Not want some items packed at all, only moved to another room, unaffected by the water damage. They did not pack items in a logical, organized way (they only dumped items into boxes, some half filled, w/ unrelated items in 1 box, etc.), & when they brought them back, they just stacked boxes in the rooms from which they were taken. Boxes were Only #'d, Not labeled as to contents. Their ppt inventory file was Useless, as it only gave the box # & from what Room it was taken. It did Not state what the contents were in Any detail, (eg., Living Room, Master Bedroom, etc. = No detail as to what's inside). So if you're looking for financial info from MBR, good luck ! I would not recommend them, Unless they follow the guidelines/ instructions above. read more

Daniel, Danny and their team of five more crew mates spent Tues through Friday at my home this week, and I cannot say higher things about the excellence, integrity and hard work of this entire operation. The lead manager, Dan (Daniel) was smart, responsive, accommodating and efficient. He did a pre-inspection of my home to ensure he brought the exact right team to do the move. He led the team well and his experience in the insurance industry was helpful in navigating the process. 2. The team who packed up my stuff and moved me were professional, hard working, strong, fast, and careful to ensure none of my things were damaged. They even had a sense of humor and collegial vibe that made the process far more pleasant. 3. The project manager on site, Danny, did a terrific job. We got groundwater in our basement and had to move everything out. We did the small stuff, but needed help with furniture and a truck to a storage unit. Daniel was able to get a crew of four to us the next morning and they got everything done in a half day. They were very careful with our contents and keeping things tidy. Good at the details, like after our leather couches were in the storage unit, they cut part of the film wrap so the leather and padding wouldn't be compressed while being stored. I never would have thought about that! So not a big move, but it was easy to reach them, they showed up on time and did the job well. This was out of my pocket, not covered by insurance. Cost was fair, in line with expectations and closed quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

We had damaged floor and some drywall in three rooms from a water leak. Our insurance adjuster told us to look for a company that does "content manipulation" to basically move all our furniture and stuff out of these three rooms while the new floor was installed and walls were replaced and painted. Emergency Packout was quite professional and great to work with. Yosselin showed up to estimate the project with a high tech video camera to document all our contents, giving each piece a QR code. When we were ready to schedule the service Matt and his team of 8 showed up on 2 days notice and carefully packed up, wrapped up, and moved out all of our stuff. We were amazed that they did it all in 1 day. When we were ready for moving back in, they were ready the following day. Both times they arrived on time, at the beginning of the window they gave us. We asked them to be careful bringing the furniture back in, so as not to damage the new hardwood floor. They staged everything outside, applying adhesive felt on the bottom of all furniture pieces, wore shoe coverings, placed blankets down on the paths they were traveling. They were finished so quickly. After leaving we realized a few big pieces needed to be moved slightly this way or that so three team members showed up the next day and made the adjustments. We had the urgent need to get 40 years of stuff accumulated in our one car garage, after the water heater cascaded a couple inches of water on the garage floor. Emergency Packout Co. was called out and they arrived with 6 very courteous guys and a large hauling truck. The service was covered by insurance and they worked very hard to get everything off the floor and outside in approximately 5 hours, not to mention getting all items kept back inside. They listened very well to all concerns and understood the value of sentiments. Roy was especially helpful walking us through the ordeal and communicating all requests to the rest of the team.
