Efros recommended Invisalign as the primary treatment. In contrast, all four other orthodontists independently recommended upper expansion at minimum due to crowding, an open bite, and the need to create space for eruption. Some also discussed future extractions. Not one other provider suggested Invisalign as an appropriate first step for her diagnosis. Because expansion has been clearly identified as a necessary part of her Phase I treatment by every other office, I was concerned that this recommendation did not address her underlying skeletal needs. It felt like a single-solution recommendation, rather than an individualized plan based on her specific issues. We chose not to proceed here because the consultation did not match the thoroughness or clinical reasoning we received anywhere else. I strongly encourage parents to get multiple consultations before starting treatment anywhere. Had we only gone here, we would have committed to a very expensive plan that did not align with the recommendations of any other specialists we consulted.

I truly regret my choice of bridges rather than the much more expensive and involved process of oral surgery, braces, implants, etc. I wish they had informed me of my other options and discouraged me from filing down healthy teeth that I can never get back. I feel like a place with a little more integrity and less desire to make money would have told me not to do bridges. But I did make that decision, and it was 100% based on cost. I never thought I'd be fully familiarized with Fixodent in my 40s, yet here we are. As I stated above, my temporary bridges have fallen out 5 times in 4 weeks. I'll spare you the gory details. This doesn't seem normal, but maybe it is. I've never had major dental work. They did promptly fix it every time, however, so I'm giving them 3 stars, for courtesy, the niceness of the office and receptionists, and the willingness to repeatedly replace the failed bridges. However, I went for a second opinion today and was told that the reason the temporary bridges keep falling out is because my teeth are not prepared correctly relative to my bite. If this doctor hasn't figured that out by the 5th try, what are the chances he'll get it right for the permanent ones? I don't want his incompetence causing permanent damage to my teeth (what's left of them). So I'm taking my chances and switching doctors halfway through this process. My advice to this practice is to hire a better doctor who AT LEAST talks to his patients. I have no crowns on my teeth right now but I canceled my next appointment with 1st Advantage anyway. They used what felt like a basic, non-professional camera to take photos of my child's teeth, which only made the whole appointment seem even more careless. And to make things worse, it looked to me like they had tools sitting out in the check-in area, which gave a terrible first impression and made the office feel completely disorganized. And the worst part? The orthodontist told me my child needed braces first and then the extra tooth removed. But every other dentist, orthodontist, and oral surgeon we spoke to afterward gave the opposite treatment plan -- that the extra tooth should be removed first, and then braces. The charges are consistent with median for the area and are affordable. Children of the same family are in the open concept space together, yet separate. There are TVs, fun colored exam gloves, painted ceiling tiles, sunglasses under the bright lights, and coins earned for prizes. I wish I could come here for my own dental needs!

Many, many appointments were canceled or rescheduled…read moreby the office so care was very inconsistent because when appointments were canceled, the office wouldn't reschedule for a month or more. The reasons for canceling included things like "Sorry, but Dr. Sorbero forgot to put her vacation on the calendar". This is not the way to run a professional office. The office manager has been openly hostile with me even when I was maintaining a professional and cordial demeanor. Treatment is run like an assembly line. Neither the staff nor Dr. Sorbero seem to see the patient as a person and no regard is given for comfort. Be ready to have your mouth cut unnecessary because the focus is only on the braces without any consideration for the sensitive tissue nearby that is being torn by the wire and implements. Procedures and a treatment plan are not discussed. Patients should have to struggle to schedule an appointment. Appointments shouldn't be delayed for an entire month simply for the sake of the practice. Care should be taken so that the patient's mouth isn't shredded by the procedure. And the office manager needs further training or a non-patient contact position. Simply put: If you can be treated by a different orthodontist, do so.
