I have to say, it's been the nicest and kindest office I have been to yet. The staff are all wonderful and my experiences have been nothing but positive. From the moment I walk in, I feel comfortable. The office is bright and clean. I'm greeted at the door and I'm never left waiting too long. It feels like everyone always has smiling faces-- even when I was once pretty late and they probably should have turned me away, they didn't (not that I advocate showing up late, but that just goes to show you how kind and patient they were with me). My hygienist is Nicole, but my husband sees Kari. Neither of us have a single complaint (and my husband is the hardest patient to please! He seems to hate anything related to the medical profession). I feel like most hygienists in my experience leave you with throbbing sore gums from poking and prodding, but neither of us ever feel that way with Nicole and Kari. They give great advice and referrals (my husband had to get his wisdom teeth pulled and the office they sent him to was equally wonderful). They are so easy-going and friendly. I actually enjoy seeing my hygienist each visit, as does my husband :) I love how high-tech everything is. X-rays are digital, they use computers to schedule our next appointment right in the room and give us a print-out of the newly scheduled date. They always call to confirm appointments and if I can't make it for some reason (for example, I ended up having surgery right before my last appointment and I hadn't even thought to call them to reschedule until my appt reminder) it's never a problem to reschedule and they get me in as quick as they can. Lastly, Dr. Zitofsky is great. I always feel comfortable in his care and he even diagnosed a jaw issue that none of my previous dentists had ever mentioned before. With his suggestions I am sleeping better and feeling better during the day! And his suggestions weren't monetary ones-- a simple prescription, and easy over-the-counter solution that I use as needed. We are talking maybe $20 every few months, not thousands or even hundreds. When my insurance didn't cover something, I was only charged the insurance rate (as I've seen in every practice I've been to, and that has been quite a few as I've moved around a lot). I'm just extremely satisfied overall with this entire office. It's easily the best office I've been a patient at and I feel so fortunate that it's the one I've chosen now that I've stopped moving around. My husband and I will be here for the years to come, and when we have children, there is no place I would feel more comfortable taking them.

Clinical Safety & Professionalism: The new hygienist was incredibly rough, 'digging for gold' and causing me to bleed--something that has never happened here before. To make matters worse, they didn't even confirm my penicillin/amoxicillin allergies until AFTER the procedure was over and I was already bleeding. Judgmental Conduct: I felt deeply judged and stigmatized for taking Doxy-PreP. The hygienist knew nothing about it, had to look it up, and then treated me with an inappropriate, 'positive' bias. As a patient, I should not have to educate my provider on preventative care, nor should I be made to feel uncomfortable for my medical choices. The Office: There is a sign at checkout apologizing for a doctor and hygienist leaving, which explains the drop in quality. While the reception and checkout ladies are perfect and deserve 5 stars for their professionalism, the clinical side is currently unsafe and unprofessional. I waited a few days after my dental appointment to post a review because I could not stop crying. (Don't worry they are all tears of Joy) Dr. Cerny's office is nothing but professional. Each member on her team plays a vital role. Alice is wonderful she goes above and beyond helping patients figure billing out so we don't have too. Amanda the dental assistant is always smiling and a will go out of her way to make you comfortable. Lisa the dental hygienist is real gentle and the whole time she is cleaning your teeth she's educating you about proper care of brushing/flossing. My tooth was severely broken, and couldn't be saved, so I had to have it extracted. Dr. Swalsky was very thorough and so nice. He explained everything that was going to happen, and made sure I was comfortable. If you need a dentist I'd highly recommend him. The office staff and the dental hygienist were also lovely.

I had one appointment that never made it into their system. I have had botched work due to Dr. Swalsky's haste twice that caused unnecessary pain, time and expense. I changed dentists after a long time and am happier now, even with the time they devote to the patient. I guess I had forgotten what it's supposed to be like. Halfmoon are competent and have the right intentions I guess but they need to step back and retool.
