When you are the Mom you have to buy diapers, shampoo and stuff like food. As the Grandma I can buy all the impractical stuff. I have only been there once since my granddaughter was born but I was able to find the cutest head bands with bows that attach for football games and St. Patrick's day. Sigh of bliss. How fun to buy such non essential items. They have tons of darling dresses, socks and coats that are so cute and cunning. I love everything they have here. Some of the items are custom made and are similar to what I make for my sweet new granddaughter and I love that also, it makes me feel like I am so darn clever. We have a once upon a child in Mississippi where I live, and honestly they could learn a thing or two from this store. They had wonderful customer service and a relatively organized store. It was clean and I was able to maneuver through the store with my stroller. The reasons I didn't give them 5 stars is the prices on some items were just ridiculous and some items needed to be cleaned. Also the tagging and price tags were often missing or in wrong section. In addition to high prices, messy items and misleading price tags the little boys department is lack luster. Maybe an eighth of the little girls section. But the experience was still worth it because like any thrift store you find your gems, and like I said the customer service was superb. I will with out a doubt return before I leave in hope to finding some more bargain items, and would recommend this store as long as you are prepared for the semi dirty items, wonky prices and tagging and lack of little boy items.

They were having an "indoor sidewalk sale", with some of their items being up to 75% off--this included clothes, toys, books, and other items and knickknacks. They had some books and stuffed animals that complement the books, like the Little Blue Truck and Corduroy. I bought a cute little dress for the holidays for my daughter, as well as a lovely sweater for the upcoming season. Their children's stuff isn't cheap, but it's not unreasonable for an independent children's store. I was really thankful that I found a place that sells clothing for children--in this case, holiday wear in particular--that is machine washable, because oftentimes children's clothing is marked as dry clean only (whyyyy). There is street parking in this area which can be limited, but I think there's also a Metra stop half a block away from the store.

Downstairs is "the vault", which features sizes up to 14/16 with sales up to 40% (maybe more depending on the time of the year). The vault is sectioned by sizes. At the bottom of the stairs is a clearance size with the discount percentage for the entire room. I visited in early October 2024 and there were many discounted spring/summer styles, with a few sweaters and sweatpants options. There's a couch in the middle of the floor to take a break or for your children so you can shop uninterrupted. The fitting room is upstairs toward the back of the store. Enjoy cute trinkets near the check-out register, plus the cutest wrapping paper that can be purchased. Sarah, the buyer and manager I believe, was so sweet and helped me hide some gifts from my daughter after she identified things she wanted. It's woman-owned, minority-owned and has a woman's boutique right next door, 16 suitcases.
