Sam is absolutely phenomenal. Now for the review. I come to voice lessons with years of experience in youth choirs and a few stints in adults choirs. While rusty I left each experience feeling a renewed control of my voice in speaking and singing. Sam is professional, intuitive, playful, and skilled; which makes sense as he has decades of experience singing professionally and for fun. With clear and precise instructions he helped me warm back up to my voice. There was even a moment he played a familiar melody and I burst into song, clearly deviated from the exercise. He just played on, celebrated by enthusiasm, and brought me back to the work. Let us be clear, we had FUN advancing through the exercises as he critiqued my voice, helping me fine tune it every step of the way. While I am not a beginner, he comes off as an instructor who would help anyone willing to work to find strength in their voice. Cannot wait for our next session together! read more

Sam is wonderful! His gift for sound healing is intuitive, innovate and professional. In just a couple sessions he was able to bring forward a subtle awakening through me to create deep awareness and release energetic blockages. The beauty of the sound healing sessions are that you don't have to "do" anything. I completely trust Sam and was able to drop into a deep place of stillness and awaken to my true self. I look forward to continue working with Sam and highly encourage anyone working with deeper issues that haven't had success in other modalities to try his technique and hope you feel the same quality of results I did. Thank you! read more

I've practiced yoga for about 15 years in gyms and at yoga studios. Sam is by far the best teacher I've had. He makes his students feel cared for physically, mentally, and emotionally. He has a tremendous knowledge of the body, and I always learn something about my own body in his class. It's obvious that others also find Sam's teaching superior, because his class are by far the most popular at Mission Cliffs! Don't miss the opportunity to take a class with Sam if you can. read more

I recently developed back pain mostly because of my long work hours sitting behind a computer. I have been doing yoga on and off for a long time but had never really gotten into it. As part of my recovery plan, I decided to refocus on yoga and make sure to do it right to maximize its benefits. I quickly realized that yoga does not come naturally to me and that I was doing it very poorly. I was very lucky to find Sam and start taking classes with him. It's amazing what a difference it makes having a teacher who really knows his stuff. Specifically, as I struggled through each pose, his thoughtful and kind feedback helped me find where I could improve. Added bonus: his beautiful singing voice creates a great environment in class and makes it so much more pleasant. Sam is been an amazing teacher, a kind knowledgable instructor and I can't recommend him enough. read more

Sam Palmer of Embody Harmonics is an amazing yoga instructor at both the individual (private) and group level. He brings to the mat deep body / anatomical knowledge, rich yoga context, a delightful sense of humble humor and spiritual awareness. I have known Sam for ten years, initially as a fellow yoga student and most recently as both a private session and group class student of his. He uses his knowledge of the full breadth of yoga tradition to continuously adjust the class to meet the needs of the student(s), rather than pressing students beyond their reach. His joy and respect of yoga remains evident throughout the class. His thoughtful positive feedback naturally urges students forward on their learning journey. Every class I've ever taken with Sam has been an uplifting, joyful experience. read more

I have taken Sam's yoga classes at Mission Cliffs the last for years and I feel very fortunate (damn lucky) that he is part program there. He teaches a truly great, educational, inspiring yoga class. He graces us with his wit and generosity in each class. Even with a full class he is still able to give each student his attention to help further their own practice. Sam also leads the yoga program at Mission Cliffs and has developed a schedule and teacher profile that has variety of classes, special workshops and classes tailored to climbers. Like I wrote above...we are Damn Lucky - read more

Sam is a very patient, knowledgeable and kind yoga instructor. My organization is one of his corporate clients and attending Sam's classes has definitely been one of my favorite perks! There are many reasons why practicing with Sam is a joy. First, he is extremely knowledgeable and sensitive to everyone's different yoga abilities, always offering useful adjustments and kind words. This makes for an extremely pleasant and comfortable environment. Second, he has a great attitude that inspires his students to reach their goals, while still working within their current limits. I don't think I'll ever reach king pigeon, but crow is now an attainable goal for me! Third, Sam's ability to integrate sound and voice into class. Shavasana is always a little bit more relaxing with Sam's voice to guide us. All and all, Sam is a great guy and an even better yoga instructor. I highly recommend him. read more

I knew Sam first as a fellow professional musician and then later, as a talented yoga teacher at Mission Cliffs. I am so glad I found him at Mission Cliffs because he is a fantastic teacher. Sam is just one of the kindest, open-hearted people I know. Every time I see him, he is always grounded, and his generosity and giving spirit show up whether he's singing or leading a yoga class. And sometimes he's doing both - he sings at the end of his yoga class and it is such a gorgeous, ringing sound that clears all the cobwebs out of your brain. read more

Sam is an absolutely incredible teacher. I love how he can make the slightest adjustment to my yoga position to give me a new understanding and a new opening in my body. He is just so good at teaching and I look forward to every class. On top of that, he has an incredible voice to end each practice. He is hands down one of the best instructors I've had, and I'm grateful to have taken and to continue taking his class. read more

Sam is a very sensitive facilitator and I felt like I was in such great hands during our sound healing session. I wanted to try sound healing because I know it's such a great way to get the body into a natural theta brainwave state where my body's innate wisdom can channel healing energy wherever it needs to go. I was able to drop into a really deep space with Sam guiding me through a sound journey. At one point, he put a singing bowl in the exact spot in my body that I was feeling tension (I didn't tell him where, he just intuited it) and I felt this incredible vibration all the way to the top of my head, even when the bowl was on my hip. Another time, there was a loud fire truck passing outside, and Sam just placed his hand gently but firmly on my chest as a grounding anchor and I was able to stay floating on my cloud with no interruption of my altered state as he expertly tuned into my energy field and helped me keep my connection to the healing brainwave state. Sam is an intuitive and gifted healer and a blessing in the lives he touches. read more

I wish I could Sam give a thousand stars here. As a yoga teacher, he adds dimensions to his classes that are rare and exceptional. His cues are educational, clear, and the pace is natural. He has a knack for flow as he adroitly responds to requests for specific areas of focus. He is encouraging, funny, and thoughtful in his adjustments. What really takes his classes a step beyond is his classically-trained voice, which he generously offers at the end of class to close things in a way that feels alive and contemplative. I haven't been exposed to more than a dozen or so yoga teachers, but I feel that Sam is far and away the best. Friends who have been long time yogis say the same thing. He is special. Just go. read more

Sam is the best yoga teacher! My husband and I have been faithfully attending his classes for 4 years. He incorporates new and recurrent sequences with great cues and variations. He helps students of all levels improve their yoga practice and feel positive results. He has a wonderful presence and also provides individualized attention. As you'd expect, his classes are often full, but it's worth it to get there early and get a spot. read more

Sam is a true healer. This was my first experience with sound healing and I couldn't ask for a more intuitive, compassionate and gifted teacher to lead me through this unique practice. I came to Sam during a time of high stress and transition and he did an incredible job of grounding and centering me. He also provided individually tailored tools that helped shape my goals and intentions, and reintegrate yoga and mediation back into my life. Our sound healing sessions became this incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating time I could take each week in the sunlight of his spectacular hilltop studio. His work in sound healing reaches aspects of the mind and body that feel otherwise inaccessible. Sam comes to his practice with a comprehensive collection of skills and abilities. His gift for movement and understanding of the inner workings of the body is like few I have seen before. I was fortunate to be part of a private yoga group he taught for several years and he quickly became my favorite teacher of all those I've had in my 20 years of yoga classes. The yoga postures and routines he creates are truly unique and were designed around the evolving needs and goals of the class. Sam's sound healing practice integrates his understanding of the body, healing and his talent for music and song. I recommend him highly and feel so blessed to have found such an incredible teacher! read more

I take Sam's yoga classes at Mission Cliffs. I love his sessions because his classes are designed for all challenge and expertise levels. Each class has a couple of new positions which keep me engaged, helping me learn new flows, improve my current practice and finding new perspective in familiar movements. Whether a large or small class, he pays individual attention to students, which I appreciate. The best part, he sings at the end of practice to bring us out of shavasana. Highly recommend! read more

I had a sound healing with Samuel Palmer. It was such a treat. Sam is intuitive and gentle. I felt at ease right away. The session went by so quickly. I was in such a relaxed state afterwards. I have been to group sound healings before, but to get this individual attention was a big difference. Sam could tell where I needed attention and what areas where more blocked. I like all types of healing, yoga, acupuncture, massage, but sound healing deals with vibrations on a subtle level like no other. Also, his space was like a little sanctuary in the hustle bustle of the Mission. At one point he put one of the bowls by my head, and I felt like I was in a trance. I also felt my heart center open up without effort. I could've stayed for another 2 hours! I highly recommend Sam for sound healing and anything else he offers. I'm pretty sensitive and have done a lot of different types of healing work, and this was especially deep and transformative! read more
