I checked out Embellished by Mariam after seeing some Orlando content creators recommend the services. I had a bad experience at the other salon I was going to and I wanted to check out a new place. I made an appointment to get a gel mani and regular pedi. When I arrived, I felt a little intimidated since I didn't know what to expect. I was welcomed and then I waited for my appointment. At first, it felt a little awkward since it was my first time there and I didn't know the process. Picking a color is different compared to other nail salons, where you pick from samples, here you pick the color from the wall with the nail polish bottle, for both gel and regular polish. Ultimately, I decided to try something new and did the cat eye. My nails looked beautiful and I loved that she didn't damage my nails as in other places, trying to remove cuticles. The salon reminded me of my nail salon in my home country where everyone knows each other. For me, cleanliness is a must and the salon looked clean. I also did a regular pedi and the technician did a phenomenal job. Keep in mind parking is tricky so make sure you account time for that. I'm definitely coming back to get my nails done here once again. I have a design idea in mind and I hoping to try that next time. read more

I was underwhelmed by my experience here, which was very disappointing given how long I had followed the business and how excited I was to come here. I think I picked the wrong techs for my appts. For my nails, this was immediately off to a rough start. I showed the tech the nail art I wanted and asked for a suggestion of what base color to choose, and he said anything would be fine. Then when we got going, I let the tech know my nails were burning under the lamp, but he didn't do anything about it. I think he was painting the layers on too thick. The nail art he did also was not on the level I expected from what I have seen this business achieve before. In fact, I was pretty upset everytime I looked down at my nails. The art was more simplistic than the design I had showed. Some of the work was sloppy even. The tech commented after my nails were done that this was a design for longer nails (which he could have said from the start). For the pedicure (with a different tech), my skin got buffed off, creating a cut on my skin. I see many others have great experiences here, but I cannot see myself returning personally. read more

Recently moved closer to the Winter Park area and needed a new nail salon. I've heard so many wonderful reviews of this place at work and from friends and so glad I decided to listen and book my appointment. The salon is so clean, and just straight up vibes. I love how easy it is to book my appointment by just using the Vagaro app. Decided to book my appointment with Niki and wow... literally obsessed at the time and detail that she did to make sure my nails came out as requested. The staff honestly makes you feel like you're part of the family, spent my time getting pampered and laughing along with the entire staff pretty much. Drove by and decided to try walking-in for brows. I was politely greeted and informed it would be a few minutes. I got my eye brows and upper lips waxed. The tech had a private back room. The Christmas nails in my post are after a few weeks so they were grown out, but I always leave obsessed. Always a great experience at Embellished. I switched here after being at the same salon for four years, and the Winter Park salon market is COMPETITIVE. After one visit, I fully switched over. I used to get new sets of Gel-X every time, but Thi actually convinced me to try hard gel fills inbetween still decent sets, and it's done wonders for the health of my nails. The techs aren't afraid to make recommendations, but not in an upsell kind of way. They're just conversational and friendly, looking to make sure you receive the best product. I'm giving 2 stars simply because my experience is based on what happened not the service. all the ladies where very nice and understanding but main complaint is the fact my natural nail that I've been putting in quite a bit of effort to fix and make healthy again was completely ruin because of carelessness's of the person helping me. I simply asked for a manicure and instead of just removing my gel polish and preforming the manicure this woman shaved into my natural nail causing a burn to my nail bed and damaging my natural nail in the process. I can understand a mistake but how my simple manicure became me being her drill test dummy I will never understand. There were no manicure supplies in sight simply her and her drill. read more

One of the worst sets of nails I've ever gotten. I had an appointment at 5:30 tonight and was taken right away, but it was clear he was in a rush to get out of there because even with a brand new set of acrylics and this nail art, he was done by 6:30. The design is a little wonky, but pretty close to the photo I showed. The issue is the quality of nails themselves. Clearly proper prep wasn't done, so I'm half expecting them to break too.They are so far from my nail bed and crooked. Tell me that this doesn't look like at least a week's worth of growth when they were done an hour ago. It was also assumed that I wanted short acrylics I guess so he made the first cut way too short and I didn't want him to have to redo it, so I was willing to deal with the super short acrylics. It's the design and how sloppily the nails themselves were placed that is shameful. I also requested stiletto shape but I guess since he did them so short, that wasn't possible. I'm not writing this review in hopes of compensation or a redo either because I don't have the time. These are my birthday nails and I fly out on vacation Monday morning so it's really disappointing. For a salon so popular on social media that prides themselves on designs, it's a shame that a basic acrylic set can't even be applied correctly. I truly think I could overlook the short length, wrong shape, and eh design if the nail beds didn't look like garbage. I included the inspiration photo, not only to show the differences in design, but primarily to focus on what nails should look like in the nail bed area. I've been getting acrylics since 2017. I know a good application when I see one and I know a bad one. When the acrylic is that far from the nail bed and that crooked, it makes the set look 2 weeks old, not 2 hours old. Jhon did these. Great nail technicians. Not your average nail salon - these technicians take their time and are detailed oriented and can do complex designs. I have gone to Mariam, the owner, as well as Niki, Mimi, MJ and Ella at different times over the years. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses but I have been happy with each tech named. The only tech I ever had conflict with was Jhon. I got bumped over to Jhon once when Mariam was busy and he seemed quite annoyed to be helping her out. I felt as though he rushed and he was not friendly toward me since I was not his regular client. This was disappointing and I wouldn't book with him after this experience. This salon is one you definitely want to go to first thing in the morning or you will be waiting. I learned the hard way to always book opening appointments or you will typically wait 20-40 minutes as the technicians take their time (great quality work as a result) and tend to run over backing appointments up. Embellished by Mariam is easily one of the best salons I've been to. The space is bright and relaxing, very spacious, and clean. It does not feel like your typical salon. I saw Noya and she was excellent - incredibly detailed and really took her time! That being said, I was there for an hour for a pedicure. Amazing nail salon! Very clean and the decor is beautiful! I would highly recommend coming here. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable and patient. This place is incredible! I booked a brow wax/tint through their Instagram account, and it was SO easy. The shop is on Fairbanks and has a parking lot around back. It is clean and doesn't reek of chemicals like many salons. I was greeted immediately and invited to sit because I was early. Victoria did my eyebrows, and she was professional and so sweet. She asked questions to make sure we were on the same page, and she did a terrific job. The price for my service was very competitive, and I will definitely be back. My favorite part? They were booked for the day, and they turned away walk-ins rather than rush through people who had appointments. It helped me see how much they value my business. I made an appointment and I was late but when I came in they told me to sit down and wait. I had family members who also wanted to get their nails done so I asked if they could come in and they said yes. I sat there with my family members for 15 minutes, when one of the employees told me I was late and I said I already knew, so she went and called the owner to tell me I was late but they said I got there at 3:48 when I actually got there at 3:30 plus when I came in they said to sit and wait. The person I scheduled an appointment with when I got there was already busy with another client and I could not do anything about it so I sat and waited for a total of 20 minutes for them to tell me that they could not attend me. Asked for an ombre french tip, showed pics of what I wanted, and I was told to get dip nails (which costs more than my normal) so the tech could do ombré. I was fine with this, so they did the dip nails just to tell me that they could not do the ombre at all because my nails were "too short" even though I showed pictures of short ombre nails before I even sat in the chair. The owner only offered me a free $5 design, even though I would've paid MUCH less if they had been honest in the first place. My nails should've been free or half off. Also, they took 2 hours to do a fill on my friend's nails. My nails took 2 hours as well. Their nails are beautiful on social media, but I will never be going back. Disappointed in my services here. I had booked an online appointment specifically with Miriam due to the stellar reviews and social media posts I had seen. When I arrived they rushed me to the pedicure station and another girl did my toes. She was very nice although I had requested for Miriam. Miriam actually took off the dip I currently had on with the drill. She rushed and didn't take off the whole layer. When I was done with my pedicure she walked off to take a phone call. The girl who did my toes started on my hands and didn't remove what was left on my nails to start fresh being that I had my nails done at another salon. Miriam returned and started on someone else after initially telling the girl who started my nails she would just prep my base layer. I asked for a design and the girl became frazzled to complete it. Miriam ended up disappearing and turns out she left! 3 clients came and went in the time of my 2 services. By the end someone else finished my nails and when I left I noticed the sides weren't painted, the design had particles of gunk from the air floating in it, and there was so much top coat gel it seeped and hardened into under my nail. I'm at least thankful the girl who helped me was nice and attempted to accommodate as best as she could. read more
