I stopped by the local alterations to get my dress altered. I needed to reduce the length of the…read morestraps so that it was not pulling down too much up top. I walked in and the lady was able to help adjust the dress for me to see what it looked like. She asked if I wanted to hem the bottom and I told her I did not think I needed too because when the straps get shorten it would also change the length of the dress. However I did ask for her opinion as she has probably done plenty of alterations before and she said she would hem the bottom by about half an inch or so. They took about 3 weeks to alter the dress and made sure I knew that it was a CASH only establishment. I went back in 3 weeks later to pick up the dress. The man handed me the dress and asked for the money. I asked if I could try it on first to ensure it fit properly. He did let me try it on but was nearby as in he waited by the front door to ensure I would pay them before exiting with my dress... The dress fit where I had them adjust the straps. The dress length was okay. To be honest, probably could have gotten away with not hemming the bottom, but it's fine I guess. The total came out to be $100. Not sure about you, it does seem a little expensive for what was done. I was told they are very detailed when it comes to alterations so I decided to go with them. However, if budget is a priority for you, I'd considering looking around and comparing prices.

Upon walking in, the door makes a little ring noise and someone immediately comes out to great you. The lady was very friendly and she apologized for the clutter because she had a box right on the desk in the front but it didn't matter much to me. She asked for a phone number, rang me up and I was in and out within a couple minutes. I dropped off a suit and a dress shirt this time specifically. The dry cleaning was scheduled to be ready for pick up by that Friday. At pick up, the total came out to be $28. What a deal! I've brought other items for drying at other establishments in the Bay Area and this place definitely is the best deal. The only thing I would remind people is to bring the clothes without a hanger because they will give you one when it is complete for one and two, we lost one of our wooden hangers because they switched it out during the cleaning. Overall the dry cleaning service was affordable, efficient and clean. I only wish they post their prices somewhere so we can see the estimates. But if you ask when you drop it off, they will give you estimates on the items you bring in.
