Included breakfast

The hotel is old! It was great that they offer made to order omelets for breakfast. The rest of the breakfast items weren't great except the bananas which disappeared in minutes. It was also nice that they offered appetizers (chips and salsa) and drinks (house wine and coors light) during dinner. Most hotels don't offer anything so it was a real perk. I was surprised at how crowded the happy hour and breakfast got.

I had a great stay at this Embassy Suites in the Biltmore area. The location is excellent--close to plenty of restaurants and shopping, and easy to get around. Mobile check-in was smooth and convenient, and I liked that I could choose my room ahead of time. The hotel has been recently renovated; I'm not sure what it looked like before, but it definitely feels fresh, modern, and even a bit nicer than many other Embassy Suites I've stayed at. Breakfast is set up differently here compared to the usual Embassy Suites buffet. Instead, they offer a breakfast bar with made-to-order items. The evening manager's reception was also great, offering two complimentary drinks and some light snacks. My room was spacious and faced the pool area. The bed and pillows are extremely soft--perfect if that's your preference (it is not mine, too soft). There are two TVs, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. The TV guide feels pretty outdated, but honestly still better than the newer Hilton interface I'm not a fan of. The room also had a wet bar, a vanity area in the bedroom, and even two ceiling fans, which was a nice touch. I did experience sporadic hot water issues in the shower--sometimes it was warm at best, and other times it was perfectly normal. The fitness center is on the smaller side for a hotel of this size, but there's a Lifetime Fitness right across the street if you need a more complete gym. One small inconvenience is the desk placement: it sits on the same wall as the TV, so you can't really watch it while working. A swiveling wall mount would solve that easily. Overall, despite a few minor quirks, this will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I return to Phoenix.

Got here late after going to a nearby festival. At first I was like this is nice! Nice little area with palm trees and cabanas in the middle of the hotel, nice pool area, the standard glass elevators of the Embassy. Then we got to our room we couldn't open the door. We thought our key wasn't working so we go down to the front desk to get our key fixed and the guy's like how hard did you push on the door? and I'm like we pushed on the door.. He went up with us and ended up needing to actually kick the door open, we probably should've asked for a different room at that point but whatever. Every time we came in and out of the room we had to kick the door open a wrench on it from the inside to get put. I almost couldn't get out in the morning. The bathroom was OK but there was a corner that had a big molding spot you could tell the wood was like rotting out, I took a picture of that for reference. The room itself was very large but the living room part felt uncomfortable because even with the curtains fully clothed you could see people walking by bc there was a big gap. Because it was like nine or 10 at night we ended up just eating at the restaurant they had in the hotel we wanted to eat and there was kind of a lot of people at the bar so we sat at a table. It wasn't super busy the bar was small but the waitress blatantly ignored us at our table she did fix an issue with the food that was my error not her so I did appreciate that but she didn't check on us once wouldn't even bring the bill I had to go to the bar to get the bill. The breakfast however was over the top, best hotel breakfast. Fresh food, many options and friendly workers. I loved that part. If it wasn't for that I might've given two stars. It wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed I didn't see any bugs or anything at least but it was very low in for an embassy suite .

Update: The owner did get ahold of us just to ask us when, where, and how it happened. Didn't care about out the health or what we had to go through just cared about their business. So sad I will not be back and I DO NOT recommend this place. Looks amazing, great breakfast minus the employees attituds but health is more important which they do not care about. Sorry but not sorry just Facts ‍

The lobby was updated but the finishes feel cheap and low budget. The renovation was solely for the lobby and in my opinion it should have started with the rooms. As you can see in the photos rusty shower heads, leaky ceilings, and worn bath tub. When I got a there there was a dirty towel hanging from the shower rod. Lastly there was a leak that dripped directly onto my makeup all over the counter. The front desk person was kind enough to give me Hilton honors points as an apology. That said I'm sure there have to be nicer places to stay in Phoenix, right?

I'm really shocked at all the low reviews because I really enjoyed my stay here. I had an impromptu work trip and was put up here. The lobby was really cool and the fish pond was a nice touch. My room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was included and had made to order omelettes as well as already cooked breakfast items. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

Ice cream is another issue, 3 cups of Dippy Dots (picture attached) was $38.00, not including tip. It's a nice hotel but the cost to be at the hotel once you arrive is crazy... consider this before booking, I haven't ordered the prerequisite chicken fingers yet that come with every hotel stay. We checked in with our pass and found some seats near the hot tub. The kids went straight to the slides and I went to hot tub. It was nice but kind of small especially when the sun started to set it got really busy. The food and drinks are outrageously priced as you might expect at a resort. The food was surprisingly good though! I got a taco salad, my son got hot dog and fries and his friend got a turkey wrap. It was good but was too expensive. But hey when in Rome! The lazy river is the best. I could floated in that all day! All in all in was an expensive but enjoyable day at the JW.

I ordered 2 food items and pre paid for 3 beers the bill came out to $52.18 I didn't think much of it and even tipped 25% After I finished my third beer. I decided to order a cookie with ice cream and an old fashioned to take up to my room. Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. This is a great place to stay but keep an eye on what you order. More so late at night. Also my hot wings were cold in the center but I didn't even mention it to her at the time. Before I could even ask, he let me know there were no suite upgrades available but offered me a King Premium and got me checked in on the spot. As a solo traveler who had just made that drive, being able to walk straight to a room and crash was everything. He took a few minutes to catch me up on what had changed since my last stay; the breakfast situation being the highlight of that conversation, which turned out to be... relevant. The next morning, after a rough experience at breakfast, I mentioned something at the front desk and Donna, the front-end manager, stepped in immediately, not defensively, but genuinely wanting to understand what happened and make it right. That kind of accountability is rare. Saturday night brought a similar hiccup at the bar, and Sayan handled it the same way: professionally, without hesitation. The room was exactly what I've come to expect from Kimpton, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. But the real story here is the staff outside the restaurant.
