I've been putting off getting my cat neutered for 6 months now (he's 14 months old) because I couldn't find a vet that had good reviews and didn't charge $300+. I thought I found one! Wrong. When I checked my cat in, I asked them what an estimated pick-up time would be (they weren't super busy yet, it was 8:10a) & they said 12-1p. I told them that he gets scared around other animals and that I've had him since he was on formula. I'm there at 12p so that I can make sure he's home ASAP & they text me he'll be ready for pickup at 1- that's fine. When I pick him up, the otherwise nice woman recommended that I leave him in the kennel for another 2 hours because he was hissing. Obviously I'm not going to do that-- he's only hissing because he's scared. I put him in my car and it smelled bad. I assumed it was something related to his surgery. I open the crate and pet him for a few minutes before driving home. He's calm now that he isn't surrounded by other animals. When I get home, I noticed his paw was bleeding. I thought that was strange since I clipped his nails not half an hour before dropping him off. Only one of his nails were bleeding; it looks as though they just trimmed them a little shorter. I clipped them prior because I knew he wouldn't let them do it. One bleeding nail isn't awful (to me, at least). They were just trying to get him ready for surgery. They didn't charge me the $10 for the nail trim. When I got home, I let him out of his kennel and recorded it to make sure he was doing fine walking and there was poop in his kennel. I don't mind waiting longer and I don't mind them trimming his nails (again, only 1 was cut too short, likely because he wasn't cooperating), but it is UNACCEPTABLE to leave my cat in a small crate with feces! I spent months looking for affordability alongside quality and it's apparent those two don't go side-by-side when it comes to pet care. Had my cat not have had to sit in feces for I don't know how long, EmanciPET would have been a 4 star pet clinic. Pay the premium price for your feline friends. read more

GREAT PLACE! I recently rescued a dog with heart worm. Being a broke college student, I reached out to Emancipet for low cost treatments that would usually be $800-$1,000 anywhere else. The phone representative was very helpful and was great at explaining the full treatment process. I was immediately scheduled for an appointment with no difficulty. At the appointment, the staff, especially Hector, was great at being gentle and patient with my super skittish rescue dog. They even helped accommodate vaccines on a late notice. Couldn't thank Emancipet enough for taking good care of my fur baby yesterday and today! Yesterday he got his neutered surgery, the process went smoothly- checked him in the morning and picked him up in the afternoon. They were able to give me meds for pain as well as for anxiety. By the time we got home, didn't realize how small his cone was and was able to licked his stitches. I was so concerned so called the emergency hot line and was able to address my concerns right away. That REALLY helped so much!! It really eased my mind. We got a bigger cone at the emergency vet hospital as recommended by the hot line and was able to get one last night. Today, went in for a free check up just to make sure his stitches were still good and intact and they were able to see him and got him checked. Couldn't be happier! Thank you again SO MUCH Emancipet! I called to make an appointment to get my dog spayed on the 4th and luckily was able to fit into an opening on the 5th. Great customer service and very affordable. But keep in mind that there are long lines. I got there at 7:50am to drop off my pet & didn't leave till around an hour later, so if you're in a time crunch it would benefit you to go and wait in line early. I paid to have my dog microchipped, spayed, and to get an e collar & extra pain medication and my total added up to $105. The incision was small and stitched with care, you can definitely tell that they have experience. My only issue was that they didn't put the e collar on my dog for me & that the size I was given was a large even though she's a small dog. Because the size of it is so large she can barley see and keeps tripping over it. But other than that I have no complaints, Would definitely come again. read more

Had apt for Oct 5 I live far So I explained to the lady on the phone I had to drop off my kids to school then head there, the lady said as long as you get here before 9am it's no problem I get there 8:40 and she tell me they are full for the day, I tell her I have an appointment She procedes to repeat that they are full and have no more spots open. Let me begin by telling you this is an awesome place to take your pets and it's so affordable. It was a little far away from my home but worth the drive. Recently, I rescued an abandoned pet and she was diagnosed with Heart worms due to her living on the street and being bitten by an infected mosquito. Her treatment at other places was $1000 and above. A rescue recommended this place because they are affordable and upfront with pricing, even their website has prices listed which was refreshing because most places don't advertise their prices. Since she is under 20 pounds they will charge $225.00 for the treatment which is way better that other pricing. Also staff is super friendly. Vet was very kind on treating Nina and explained in detail procedure so that I wouldn't worry so much. Highly recommend this place. Also F.Y.I you can call and make an appointment for some things but you can also walk-in. They also receive credit card. read more

They saved my friends dog My best friend adopted a little adorable Yorky only to find out that the puppy had pyometrea We went to The vet are usually go to And he advised that you must have an immediate surgery and the surgery will cost anywhere between $3000-$5500. We could not afford that. We called a couple of other vets Who seem to be more interested in the chargers and how much it's gonna cost and actually healing the dog. My friend decided to take the puppy to emancipet and they did a wonderful job in treating the dog She brought in Zoey the in the morning And picked her up in the afternoon. The surgery was not bad the vet was able to clear the whole infection The whole procedure was under $200 Zoey is alive today thanks to this wonderful concept of affordable pet care. So glad my friend suggested this place. 1st come, 1st serve clinic; however, the system they have is super easy. Take your pet there, wait in short line and they (not you) sign you in using a tablet and you're now on a waitlist. They also create a new account for you if this is your first visit. The best part is you can leave the clinic. They send you text with link to waitlist enabling you to watch progress of your wait time and place in line. In addition to waitlist, they send you a text when your time is getting close and request you return to clinic. You are seen shortly after your return. This was a great experience for me. I love that it's an affordable clinic. However, if you go during the summer months, expect to wait. I was #10 on the list, and waited 3 hours. I've gone recently and it's been lonely. The only thing that I don't like is that they won't give you prescriptions to buy preventative pills like for heartworms. Which would be nice since it is cheaper buying it elsewhere. However, I appreciate that they sell them individually in case you don't happen to have that extra income at that time. I've always had a pleasant experience and appreciate all they do! Lady at the front desk had an awful attitude and horrible customer service. Told me I was wrong about my pet and that she couldn't give me a receipt (I paid $85 cash). I was also informed that my pet was "recovering well" and an hour later when I came in, they said she had just gotten out of surgery. Took our dog here to get spayed and was very impressed with the care she received. The techs showed her love as soon as we walked up. You can tell they enjoy the job. They offer a lot of different services and were very informative on all of them, but didn't push anything on us. Everything was reasonably priced.. Cheaper than anywhere I researched. We found out our dog has heartworms and the vet spent time explaining all of our options. She was honest and caring. (3/25/2016)I had never heard about this place. We have 3 dogs and our last one was adopted and we were told about this place by the rescue agency. My puppy was 2 months when we adopted him and today he turned 3 months and it was time for his next set of shots. I called just to confirm they would be open today due to the holiday, they were and they accept walk ins. We arrived, there were a few people in front of us. The staff was really nice. They put out bowls of water for the pets and a cooler with bottled water for anyone else. Once it was our turn and when went in, my puppy started shaking (I guess nervous/scared) but once the vet started interacting with him, he eased up. (5/7/2016) I've came back about once or twice since my first visit for my puppy to get his other shots and today I dropped him off at 8am for him to be neutered and picked him up at 5pm, he was a bit groggy when he came out and legs were shaking (all the dogs coming out where the same), we received all the instructions/precautions we needed post surgery and needless to say, they did great. It's been 2 weeks since surgery and my baby is all healed up and there weren't any complications at all. I truly love this place. The vet/vet techs are great. I will definitely be taking my other dogs as well!!! So thankful for the services they offer. Very glad I found this place! read more

Great concept but no. They need to make their hours clearer. After calling which you get transferred to people in Austin, I ask them if I will be there by 5:30 will they still take me? And they said of course because they do close at 6. After driving 1.5 hours to this location I was turned away. I am furious. Also, they say you don't need an appointment and that's a load of crap. Had I had an appointment I probably wouldn't be In the predicament I am in. Then on top of that the staff was rude. They gave me ugly looks as soon as I walked in, and I was already apologizing for the time. They do not take anyone after 5:30 so their hours need to say 5:30 not 6. Also, the phone needs to be directly sent to each location instead of the head location in Austin. I guess the manager was a little nicer but not much. They stood around looking at each other after they said it was too late. I'm furious. read more
