Went here to see Zootopia 2 with my fellow furries! We'd bought out one of the theatres so we could bring in pizza and make it a whole fun viewing event. The employees and staff were helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome so we'd have a great experience. The seats in the theatre are spacious and plush, featuring both powered recliner and heat! You can also pull up the armrests if you've got a special somebody you wanna cuddle up next to during the film (I did! My cute hubbie!). The cup holders are fairly large but couldn't quite accommodate my Hydroflask. I got popcorn before the movie, which was, for movie theatre popcorn, pretty affordable. About eight bucks for a medium and nine for a large, and either medium or large bucket gets a free refill! Great deal, since usually these places make you spring for whatever big combo to get a free refill. They had plenty of fancy deals though with popcorn and candy and beverages if that's your thing. Lots of Zootopia collectible merch. The lobby is pretty upscale fancy, featuring a big column fireplace in the middle, along with an island style bar. There's an arcade and apparently axe throwing also available at this location. Bathroom I used was clean. Parking lot isn't massive and shares space with the busy Trader Joe's, so it can get a little squirrelly if you're here at peak hours trying to hunt for a spot. Fully expect to be back for whatever movie next piques my interest. We don't do movies super often, but this theatre is close to our residence and really was an excellent experience overall! read more

When the CMX in Burnsville closed, we had to find a new local theater to see our favorite movies! Plenty of parking available in the dedicated lot! As far as movie theaters go, this one is squeeky clean, which was a breath of fresh air! Great prices, rewards program, and concessions! Shout-out to the staff who actually deliver your concession food to your seat in the theater! There's a bar in the lobby as well, although we didn't partake this time around! The seats are splendidly comfortable, even with a heated seat option in the theater we were in! Comfy, plenty of space, and clean! Couldn't ask for more! Out of all the Emagine theatres in Minnesota this is my favorite location! I have always had a great experience with staff and love how clean it has always been. I was very pleased with the flavor profile of the Ohana fries that were released for the lilo and stitch movie but a little disappointed in the presentation. I believe the setup to put the build on the foil was to keep the fries warm and crunchy but trying to eat this is a dark theatre was hard as the food kept sticking to the foil and I had to keep pulling foil out of my mouth. I wish there were a few more chunks of the burnt end pieces as well. Maybe if this was warmed up and transferred differently for people to consume it would have been a more pleasant experience. This is probably my new favorite Emagine location. I like the general aesthetic of it. For the most part it seems clean. The chairs recline and are comfortable. All the chairs have a heat button but I rarely feel them working no matter the setting. After 7pm you have to show a guard your ticket, not a big deal but I wish on Tuesdays when it's a lot busier they would hire more than one ticket checker to help the process go faster. It becomes a little inconvenient when you have to then wait in the long concession or bar lines as well. I often order a buffalo wrap, in which they deliver to my seat. It's pretty good. You can choose tater tots or fries with it. I like when the bar does themed drinks to go with the movies. Makes it fun. Otherwise I've tried some of the regular menu drinks and adult slushies and those are good as well. Always ask for a lid (they don't give you one unless you ask). read more

I like this theater a lot. If you sign up for their rewards program, tickets are $5 on Tuesday (which end up closer to $7.50 after all the "convenience" fees.) You can also get a free small popcorn if you've signed up for that rewards program that got you the ~$5 ticket on Tuesday, and for $2 more you can upgrade to a large. One of the best perks to that popcorn: you can top it with real butter (vs the fake buttery topping most movie theaters offer). They also have real food that you can order and have delivered to your seat (such as pizza, burger, etc). The soda/pop machines offer free refills, and they are the variety that dispense practically any flavor you can imagine. My one criticism is the pop machines: there have been times in the past where what was dispensed was undrinkable (which is particularly painful when you've spend a premium $ for a fountain drink). Either something was off with the carbonation/syrup dispenser or it needed to be cleaned. It had happened so many times in a row, that I had almost reached the point of never getting a fountain drink again. The last two times I've been, though, the drink has been OK, so maybe they've addressed the problem. They do have a full bar if you are so inclined. The seats are comfortable, heated, and recline fully. If you utilize the app or website, you can purchase tickets in advance. The theater and restrooms are clean. This is one of my favorite theaters. They offer a variety of classic movie theater snacks - such as, popcorn, candy, or nachos. If you're in the mood for heavier foods, they sell a variety of appetizers and sandwiches. I love their popcorn and love that they have real butter. Wow, this place has really stepped it up! I have not been here in years and I used to come here every time Southdale AMC didn't play a movie anymore. I would now say it definitely challenges and beats that experience. The entry is beautiful with the fireplace and seating. Great for a chance to talk on a first date waiting for your theatre to open. The full bar is awesome to have with so much memorabilia of DVDs and VHSs above the bar. I even love that woody is up there, what a conversation starter. The staff is terrific! I've never had too long of a line for concessions they seem to have their system worked out well. Their classic movie popcorn is delicious. There is also axe throwing if going to a movie is a little too tame for you. The theatres are completely redone with a massive screen and uber-comfortable leather chairs and did I mention the seats are heated? I don't know another theatre that has that. I've been to Emagine Eagan many times. Most recently last week and the theater was packed. However, service was good and concessions moved quickly. I appreciate how they offer real butter for an additional charge, but if they didn't, I'd still take the fake butter. To me, it's enjoying your movie with popcorn or no popcorn, and no popcorn just seems miserable to a popcorn lover like myself. The movie theater has always been clean. Seats are comfortable. I like how there's the option for cool or warm on the seats, although, I don't know that it really ever heats the seat. I always bring my blanket with me as the movie theater is always cold. I'll be back to enjoy another show here in the future. I appreciate how they offer the yearly popcorn bucket.... Saves on the pocket book. Bonus, the theater had a Christmas tree up in the lobby and they had Homealone and a Christmas story ornaments.... The BEST! read more

Came here on National Cinema day. We usually go to CMX in Burnsville. I googled both theaters and the movie "The Hill" sounded intriguing and was showing here. Eagan is not far of a drive, so I ordered tickets online for 5:20 showing. We didn't even need to show proof of tickets. I'm too cheap, so I snuck in a water. The seats here are 1000 times nicer than at CMX. No peeling leather, and these are heated. I brought a blanket along too, because sometimes the air conditioning is cranked way up. The movie was super good and endearing. Someone shat on a toilet seat, so I went in another stall. Ugg, who does that! Will probably come here more often. Bye CMX. read more

It was a cold evening and I decided to attened the Yelpies event at this theatre. The event was well put together and at the entrance I was greeted very kindly and warmly. There was a photo area as well as popcorn and drinks while we enjoyed the event. The whole venue inside was well lit and there was a seating area to enjoy cocktails as well as great people. The theatre was very clean and had no popcorn remenice on the floor and the place smelled great not like some thratres that smell like moldy popcorn and years or spilled soda. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff did an amazing job at taking care of the venue. I will be definitely going back here again. The area had lots of parking so you do not need to worry about having to walk a mile just to get there. read more

During this pandemic, it took me roughly eighteen months to finally see a movie in a theatre. While on vacation in the Twin Cities, I thought that seeing a movie at Ematine Eagan would be in order. Fact: I have seen more movies at this movie theatre on my most recent trip to the Twin Cities than when I was a Minnesota resident. I used to rent movies back in the day. Yep, I'm dating myself and don't care! I had heard such great things about Spider-Man: No Way Home. I bought a ticket for noon a few Thursdays ago. A matinee costs $7.95 before taxes. To get a movie ticket under $10 after tax and a service charge is cool. I bought my ticket online and managed to also choose my seat. As expected, there was plenty of parking in a fairly snowy parking lot. I parked and walked in. There wasn't a staff member checking your ticket and guiding you in the right direction. It's truly the honour system. It was the case for all three of my visits. The signs are clear enough that you don't really need help. I saw the concession stand. Although my first instinct was to get some popcorn, it was nearly noon and I was getting a bit hungry. I got two hot dogs instead and a fountain drink. I got a nice woman who helped me out with my transaction. I used a credit card to pay. She gave me my drink cup and said that my food would delivered to me at my seat between ten and fifteen minutes. I gave her my auditorium number and seat. I then went over to the beverage machine. I loved the sugar-free options. I got a Barq's diet orange cream soda. I used the washroom before going into a 2.5-hour movie. It was clean and nicely maintained. The seats here are amazing. Not only do they recline and are comfortable, they heat up to soothe your sore muscles or even warm you up. Insane! Sure enough, ten minutes later, a man came over and delivered my hot dogs. Wow! I thanked him. I also got condiment packages that I had specified. The hot dogs were yummy. I loved my Barq's diet orange cream soda. They complimented my movie-watching experience so well. I loved the movie. It was exciting on a crisp screen. This screening had the most people. However, because I went to an early show, it was far from being packed. At most, there were fifteen people. I came back a second time to watch The Matrix Resurrections. I took in another movie on New Year's Eve Eve (not a typo - December 30) at 10:30 am. I did it in EMAX and had the entire movie theatre to myself. I was so happy! I got a bag of Haribo gummies and a Barq's diet peach cream soda. Perfect! The EMAX picture quality was exceptional. Wow! It's worth shelling out an extra $2 for EMAX. I then watched The Jason Show (it became a ritual on my vacation) and tuned in to Jason Matheson's review of West Side Story. It was still playing here, so I got a ticket for a 2:30 pm show on a frigid day. I changed things up by getting pretzel bites with cheese sauce. They were nearly done making the pretzel bites that I simply waited for my order at the concession stand. I also got a Powerade sugar-free raspberry drink. You must get the pretzel bites. They were chewy and crispy where they should be. The salt was the right amount. The cheese sauce had a mild spicy kick that was so good. I highly recommend them. The Powerade sugar-free raspberry drink was fine. I felt that it needed a stronger raspberry taste. I'm definitely more of a Barq's person. On my last visit, I decided to get an Emagine Extras points card. Mine was free. If you want to save more at the concession stands, you pay $13 a year. I dig Emagine Eagan. Emagine has a small number of theatres in the Twin Cities and parts of Illinois. It felt so cozy seeing movies here. I'm definitely a fan and would return again. (16) read more

I LOVE this theater! Our prior favorite theater was up in White Bear Lake by our old house and after moving we were quiet disappointed with our many experiences with the theater in Burnsville. (Seriously, if you live in Burnsville skip it. It's SO not worth it. The decor is the only redeeming quality.) Obviously we wanted to support a theater in our city but that one left SO much to be desired. Our next theater to try was Emagine and let me tell you what, after our first visit we haven't looked elsewhere! The staff is unbeatable, they're always very friendly and knowledgeable. We tend to see the same managers/bar staff/axe staff as we go to movies at the same general time and it feels as though they may remember us too! The food has always been pretty good too, considering it's movie theater food of course! My husband always goes for the chicken tenders basket and I love the pretzel bites. It's nice to see that they've expanded the menu recently as well, I'll take that as a good sign! We've seen a movie in most of the theaters at this point and they're all pretty good quality. The seats are nice - they recline and heat! Which is something I appreciate as a noted always cold person. The bar has some fun retro movies and things to look at above it, as well as featuring a special drink for whatever movie is coming out! Buyer beware though, they tend to run on the sweeter side. Luckily the bartenders did give me that heads up and I still went ahead. A couple have been out of the park but I tend to pass on them as I'm not much of a sweet drink type of gal. (But my friends love them!) The fireplace in the entry way is stunning and everything just feels well taken care of. The new EMX theaters are absolutely incredible! We saw John Wick 4 there most recently and I don't know that we will enjoy the other screens as much anymore because that experience was so great! Lastly, they have MN Axe attached to the theater, while we haven't made it over there yet it is something we are definitely planning to do in the future. Clearly, I can't say enough about this place. I love it, give it a shot to earn your business! Edit: Okay thought of one more thing - the rewards program!! We signed up for the free reward program and have gotten so much use out of it! You get the $5 Tuesday tickets for the loyalty program, a free movie ticket on your birthday, and other little things! My favorite thing about it though is that we can earn the rewards on our food and drinks as well! Since we are frequently coming for new movies (specifically Marvel movies) our rewards rack up quickly with a couple of drinks, apps, and the movie tickets! We are routinely getting free admission tickets redeemed with our reward points! They've adjusted the use of the free admission tickets a bit (have to wait after 14 days since a movie has been out, etc.) but that's still very reasonable. We make it a Tuesday movie date to take even more advantage of it. (Granted we still end up spending money on food and beverages but hey, we love it!) read more

WOW! This movie is hella amazing!!! I am movie connoisseur. I came into town from Miami, FL to visit my brother's family here in MN. We brought the kids here to see some recent movies and OMG! This place is amazing! The concession stand is wonderful. Tons of food selections and fast and hot plus very delicious. They also bring your food to your seats too. I've seen 4 movies at 4 different theatres n all of them were impeccable and clean. Seats were great and reclined and even heat up too. The lobby, concession stand and restrooms are cleaned and well maintained. They do have liquor bar and ax throwing section too. The lobby was is huge and great to include a large fireplace. I've been to great movie theatres both historic and modern in Los Angeles, Miami and NYC and this Emagine location at Eagan is wonderful. I'm giving this place 5 stars but the only thing that bothers me is that during the 4 times I came to this movie theatre, there was no one checking people's tickets as they were coming in. read more

Finally got to enjoy this theater so close to our home. It's super nice! Well updated, chic design, spacious lobby to spread out. We've been to similar theaters in Miami but found this one to be extremely well kept and bonus is the theater seats are heated with two options as well as reclining. They also have axe throwing here which we didn't experience but will definitely plan to enjoy in the future. We went on the premiere of the new Ghostbusters movie (highly recommend by the way, Bill Murray is always a gem) and they had a ton of cool promotion activities with ghost busters cats parked out front and a bunch of Ghostbusters enjoying the premiere welcoming guests in the lobby with awesome costumes and what felt like a true ghost catching experience! Ironically the movie itself is based around a frozen world so the fact that it was snowing this evening was the cherry on top! Bathrooms were clean, staff were extremely friendly, theater was comfortable and the screens were huge, and overall we had a fun movie date night! read more

First time here since the reconfiguration of this theater...now offering a bar, food, and axe throwing entertainment in addition to movies. We were here for a movie that had been out for a month so it was in a smaller theater which clearly could be used as a party room too, as there was barely 30 seats and behind it was a gathering place and you could see a beer tap. We initially had the whole theater to ourselves but two other couples arrived by movie start. The place still smelled like new leather seats hat recline and also have a warming feature. It was a great movie experience and I look forward to visiting again soon! read more

The theater staff were VERY accommodating to a request to set up a movie poster and mini red carpet area for photos. The theater was very nice with a good selection of foods/snacks and beverages to include a full bar. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We decided to see Joker here as it's super close to our house. We generally go to Marcus in Rosemount but didn't want to drive. This theater wasn't even open a week and the staff is already over it. We went to get our tickets which we purchased online.."Sorry, our printers don't accept online tickets so just show us your phone. We are trying to work it out." Ok, she was super nice about it and helped sign us up for a rewards card. We go to concessions to get popcorn and a drink. Girl at concessions looks like a really bad stereotype of a teenage girl...angst, annoyed af..not friendly! Rolls her eyes when my husband orders ..I'm trying so hard not to crack tf up at this point. I ask her if she can scan my rewards card and she just glared at me..I guess that is a no? Took her an exaggerated amount of time to get the popcorn..like every small scoop was draining her soul out of her body. We are both trying not to laugh our asses off at this point. Girl, you are in your teens...I can't imagine you at a 9-5! She barely makes it back to the counter to hand us our popcorn and I wanted to applaud her so badly! No "Thanks" or anything, just dead eyes staring at me. Went to our movie screen and couldn't find it...they all have digital signs that do not work Movie theater was very nice. I couldn't figure out the recliners at first...be nice! I dealt with 4 screaming kids under 5 all day! Finally figured out they are heated and I was pressing the wrong buttons Movie was fantastic, employees are apparently not a happy bunch at concessions. Popcorn wasn't very good and husband and I both felt sick afterwards. Hopefully they can get their staff to actually work and work on their customer service skills! 3rd time here. 2nd time was a little better than the first. This time: - 3 of the beers were cashed ?(2 surly and 1 other) - Bartender didn't know the difference between an IPA or any other beer. - Line for popcorn/snacks was Super Long and there were at least 4 people literally doing nothing...maybe one of them hops on a register?. Similar to my last review...the place looks great. Great looking bar...axe throwing...nice entrance...the bar looks like it should be legit...the actual theatres are nice. The problem is the service is just extremely underwhelming. You guys have a concept that could dominate...you just need to match the venue with a much higher level of service. I think the people (some of them) are trying but just don't know how to deliver an excellent experience. Maybe that is what you are settling for and if so fine. If you made the full bar a craft cocktail destination with local craft beers and ciders and great service it would be epic. Apple Valley/Eagan needs a place like this. A few positives about this movie theater: we were able to book our assigned seats online with plenty of ease. The tickets were around ten bucks, which I think is pricey, but I guess that's typical these days. Upon arrival, the box office wasn't open, so I'm glad we bought online. You could use a kiosk to buy tickets or buy them at concessions. When we entered the theater area, no one asked to check our tickets at all. I'm not sure I even needed to pay. The seats are very fancy, they recline almost completely and they have a heating element if you get cold. I was pretty much completely satisfied with my experience here. They also have a full service concession stand and bar so you can get regular foods like pizza and even cocktails. read more
