This doctor is by far the worst. What kind of doctor doesn't look into a patients health concern when it runs in his family? Not to mention his staff and him were too lazy to even to type out a link i shared with them that had my health records. This doctor and his staff actually told me they "can't copy and paste" the link because their portal doesn't allow it. They didnt even try to type out the link on the browser or anything because I never got a notification that someone was requesting access to the link. They just looked at the link and said no come in with a hard copy we're not going to bother with the link. Rudest and most inconsiderate response and handling of a patient records. I have never had a doctor so lazy and ignore my health needs like this doctor. And his staff are extremely rude and condescending and rush you off the phone every time. This doctor didnt look at the blood work at all. Other doctors saw my blood work and recommended things based off my family history because they saw things that concerned them. And when I went back to ask him about it and to look at my labs again and order extra testing because of this condition that runs in my family, he literally dropped me as a patient and said "there's a problem with our doctor-patient relationship." This guy is joke and he doesn't even answer questions. If god forbid you have a question, he actually gets annoyed if you ask him too many questions. I was scheduled for a wellness visit today (happens after a blood test). I had to deal with the worst doctor and worst service I've ever seen (and I have visited a LOT of doctors in my life-check out his Yelp reviews). He always claims he has an emergency and leaves his office. They'll always ask you to reschedule your appointment as if the patients' lives evolve around them. I asked if I could at least talk to the doctor because I had a quick question. He rejected, even though he was willing to reschedule me for an earlier appointment, so he had the time to answer the question. Tanya at the front desk provides disastrous services. I asked her to provide me with my lab results so I could go to another doctor, and she said it's not ready yet. However, they confirmed that the results were available when my appointment was confirmed the day before. I mentioned to her that it's been 8 days since the blood test, and they called me yesterday and confirmed the appointment and the arrival of the test results. She said she would call me back and just hung up. As many of you might know, results of a blood test don't take more than a week. I don't normally write reviews, but they got me so frustrated, and there's nothing I can do at the moment. I'll file a complaint with the medical board and the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) next week. I'll also come to his office with the cops and say that I paid for a service (blood test), and you're not providing me with the results (Did that with a mecanic before and it worked) I might even sue him if I decide to spend my time that way. I'll make that doctor regret lying about his emergencies and messing up with patients' time and health. read more

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! They care about money not your health. Went in November 2022 for initial exam. Doctor was digging for additional issues to charge me outside of the covered annual exam. He got me on acid reflux and charged me $120 for an "office visit". Called the office to dispute and figure out why I wasn't told about this during my visit. Receptionist was not helpful. She just kept telling me I can contact billing because these are the codes to doctor used and they can't be unchanged. Called billing they told me I was charged also for "cholesterol" which was a result on my blood test the doctor requested! Called the office back they told me this wasn't the case. You can see how I was confused as billing and office were not on the same page. Told the receptionist this was unfair and that they should tell patients about this office visit charge outside of the covered annual visit. Had a follow up appt set for 5/2/2023, got a call on 5/1/2023 to confirm said yes I'll be there. Drove all the way to the office on 5/2/23 just to be told I've been discharged from the office due to disruptive behavior! Made me drive all the way there just to tell me I wasn't allowed in the office anymore. I've worked in medical field for 3+ years, if I discharged every patient that was upset with billing/experience we'd have no patients left. Very very very unprofessional! Anybody that knows me personally knows I'm the most non threatening person alive. This has been a horrible experience. read more

I have been going to Dr. Mikhail for several years, and I have always found he and his staff to be prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend him. Following up on a routine blood test 5 years ago, he noted some irregularities and sent me for a CT and MRI scan which resulted in a diagnosis of lymphoma. He referred me to an oncologist who I have been seeing for the last 5 years and now undergoing chemotherapy. Other doctors had noted this blood issue and never commented. read more

Apparently because my husband is over forty, his first appointment is considered a meet and greet and they still charge him for that appointment. I've never heard of anything like this so I called to ask how it all worked if he could have a physical on his second appointment, etc. and the lady told me she didn't know why, it was just the office policy and she slammed the phone down. I was so surprised because I was not rude or even upset, I was just curious how it would work. I don't tend to review doctors really, but I came across this while looking for something else and kinda felt like I needed too. This page definitely doesn't represent how awesome they are. Also I'm super picky about doctors and humans in general. I don't know if I could say that I would have given any doctor I've ever had more than 2 starts until him. I've been going here for many years for mostly routine things. His office is great. I never wait more than 5 minutes after I get there (and honestly I'm normally earlier than my appointment time, so that's even more amazing). They are quick and efficient at getting through the visit. They respect my time in a way no doctor I've ever gone to has. Also, super rare for a doctors office, its basically been the same nurse every time I've been there which is awesome since she's super sweet and its just more comfortable interacting with the same people you already know. I've gone in with some weird concerns before because of my hobbies and he always walks me through the options of "if you are worried enough to run all the tests" vs "most minimal options to be safe". I really appreciate this since it gives me the power to make the decisions on what time and energy I want to spend vs how concerned I am, rather than a more paternalistic "just do what I say" approach. It helps to feel that your concerns are being validated, but also a recognition of cost and time that is involved with tests. Given that I have extremely good insurance, this is even more applaud-able since I think alot of doctors would take advantage and just milk my insurance. He's always been cool about giving me the raw numbers for my test results too. I like looking at numbers, tests and things. Other doctors often don't want to do this because they don't want to risk you asking questions and wasting their time. One of mine even charged me for printing the results...Crazy. He's always just given them to me when I've asked. I just like having this paper to be look "hey look at how impressive my cholesterol numbers are". I think its been something like 6 years of going in about twice a year or so and I have never had a single negative interaction with him or his staff. Never a single mistake on any paperwork, prescription ect....That's effectively unheard of for a doctors office. A poorly ran office, lack of attention to detail, treated poorly Issues with Record Keeping: I went in to get some tests done. The staff asked me to sign up for the online patient portal website they use. When I asked if my records would be available there, they said not automatically. I was told in order to get records of my visits, diagnosis and test results on the site I would have to remember to ask them to upload them each time I visited. Issue with Prescription: I received a prescription from Dr Mikhail. He forgot to write the frequency (times per day) on the prescription so the Pharmacy would not fill it until he corrected it. It was a Friday; he did not make the correction until late the next Tuesday, so I was not able to get my prescription until Wed, 5 days later. Issues with Billing: I scheduled an appointment for preventative care - physical and testing. I was very clear with the doctor and with the staff I did not want any test that was not covered by my insurance. I requested this repeatedly and they acknowledged my request. Subsequently I was billed for 4 tests that were not covered because the doctor prescribed a single group of tests instead of specifying the tests that were covered. Additionally I was billed for the physical because they did not code it as preventative care. Even my insurance company who is not in the business of paying when they don't have to, stated I should not have to pay and this was the doctors error. They refused to correct this later after we had a falling out and I had to pay. Issues with Prescription Refill Requests: I requested a refill from my pharmacy. They informed me Dr. Mikhail wrote the prescription and they would need to contact him to get a refill. This did not happen immediately and after returning from some unexpected travel 2 weeks later I asked the Pharmacy if my prescription had been refilled. They informed me they had contacted Dr. Mikhail's office repeatedly via phone and fax with no response. I called the doctors office and spoke to the head nurse Jamie who said she never received any request for a prescriptions refill. Issues with Record Keeping #2: Jamie also claimed the Doctor had never written a prescription for me in the first place. She checked the records and said there was nothing there, no prescriptions had ever been written for me by them. I later checked the prescription bottle and verified Dr Mikhail was the prescribing doctor. Head Nurse w/ Poor Attitude: While on the phone with Jamie, she made it a point to state that I was wrong repeatedly and suggested maybe I had the wrong doctor. When I tried to explain to her that I had just got off the phone with the pharmacist who stated Dr Mikhail was the prescribing doctor she just talked over me and kept repeating there was no record. When I suggested that records are entered manually and are subject to human error, incredulously she asked me why I was being argumentative with her and hung up on me. Issues with Providing Feedback Directly to the Doctor: I called back later to leave a message for the doctor to let him know what happened but when I selected the options to leave him a message I got Jamie's voicemail box. I then called and talked to another staff member who said I could provide feedback directly to the doctor via the online patient portal website. The next morning before I could submit feedback I received an automated email stating: "You were un-enrolled from Patient Portal by your practice and cannot use the portal for communication with Irvine Internal Medical Group." I called and talked to the staff and they said Jaime had told the doctor that I was rude to her and that I could not be a patient there or access my records. I was never planning on going to this doctor again but it seems cruel to block a patient from accessing their records. Plus I was blocked from contacting the doctor directly to let him know how Jamie treated me. I suspected this was not the first time she had had a problem with a patient, judging by her oversensitivity and short fuse with me. The staff member said I could email her and she promised to forward the email to the doctor. Not trusting that, I decided to communicate what happened here and via a formal complaint to my insurance company instead. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Mikhail for over 10 years. My grown-up children and husband have been going to him for over five years, I love his practice and have recommended him to many people. When my daughter was very sick and we couldn't figure out what was wrong, he was calling my home on the weekend to check on her. When I had pneumonia, he called my house almost every day to see how I was doing. You do not get that kind of care in this day and age. I am sure that if he refused medication to a patient (as a review listed below), there was a reason why. i have never known him to overprescribe or to trick me into visits for the money.
