To say we were satisfied is a total understatement - from the first Alfredo was on site everyday with his guys and it's not exaggerating to say that they became almost like family. They worked in a timely and efficient manner and were very good about cleaning up every day where feasible, putting up plastic sheeting to reduce dust, etc. It always a little uncomfortable opening up your home to strangers, turning over the keys and letting them have access while you are absent, but from day one Alfredo called and texted every day of the project to let us know what the day's work would entail and then he would follow-up with a review, which was very much appreciated, so there was no wondering what work was being done on what day. They were very accommodating on our requests for certain modifications to the plans (adding an outlet or a external lighting, adding an accent color to the exterior paint, etc.) and the work was completed on schedule (except where the weather made working outside difficult) and to our absolute satisfaction. I can highly recommend Alfredo and J.Solis Construction and we will definitely be calling them again when we're ready to landscape our front and backyards. They can do it all, from major structural work to detail finishing on a 114-year-old Victorian home and we are extremely happy with the work done.

However, the followup has been very odd, as I waited over a month for them to e-mail me a complete detailed list of what they would be doing and how much it would cost. The least they could do was say, that they were busy, and could not take on my project, instead of wasting my time, when I could have been looking for other contractors.

The reason for the 2 stars is because i had asked for a quote on follow up jobs. I called back at least 5x for those estimates. And each time it was "he'll try and get that to you tomorrow". Or he's working on them tonight..been really busy in the field. I understand having been short staffed but if you make a commitment please follow through with it. It's poor customer service and a practice that will distinct yourself from people who would have been a loyal customer. 2 and 1/2 weeks later and I still haven't received the quote. Honestly - if you're looking for handyman services go somewhere else. For the cost and follow through - it's not worth it.

My original review (below) was short and focused on the interpersonal challenges I encountered with Stone. It's helpful to look through all reviews and not make a decision based on one. I would not refer anyone to this business based on the pattern of intimidation and harassment that came after I shared my review. P.M. Update #4 5/29/2020: This afternoon I continued to receive text messages from Virginia and Stone. I've added a screenshot here and had to block their number. When considering this business, I would encourage potential clients to look at how Virginia and Stone behave when they receive a negative review. Today, I've been threatened and intimidated over 12 interactions. People make mistakes and many great businesses grow by learning - reaching out privately to learn more. My initial feedback below was focused on the "emotional overhead" of interacting with this business and how as a woman I did not feel safe at times. I want to restate: I wish HHH and Stone and Virginia well. They seemed to be good and competent people. On the interpersonal effectiveness level there's room for growth. It took two weeks, multiple missed appointments, and unwanted/unwelcome interpersonal interactions, but the pump was fixed competently. P.M. Update #3 5/29/2020: I've added a screen capture of another update that Stone and Virginia have made to their comment, so you can evaluate what it's like to work with this business. I have never requested a refund, nor received one, nor do I want one. My goal in posting was out of concern for women's safety and the "emotional overhead" that accompanies this business. I wish Stone and Virginia well and request that they please leave me alone. My experience with this business has been and continues to be a very very distressing experience. A few negative reviews are not representative of the full business. I would encourage people to evaluate the entire business. P.M. Update #2 5/29/2020: Stone and Virginia have removed their threatening comments and replaced it, which I appreciate. However, as they did threaten me here, I maintain with evidence that this has been a very bad experience. P.M. Update #1 5/29/2020: I would encourage you to expand and read the response from Stone and Virginia to my review. It depicts what I mean by "emotional overhead." Stone and Virginia also threaten legal action, which is intimidation (a pattern in their responses to other people who shared their feedback here). Reading their response here might be helpful as you consider if this is a person and business you want to work with. A.M. Update 5/29/2020: This morning I began receiving text messages from an unknown number, but these messages appear to be connected to this business and my review. As a single woman, I absolutely cannot recommend this business and feel increased concerned for my safety. To both Stone and Virginia, if I continue to receive messages or ongoing harassment from you, I will post them here. 5/28/2020: I feel afraid to post this, having read responses from the business owners on other posts where they receive negative feedback. In one, Virginia comments that the poster will get "what's coming to him," which appears to be a form of intimidation. Here's the thing, I would not recommend this business unless you have both the emotional bandwidth for inappropriate interactions (e.g. being called "Honey") and the flexibility for how they manage scheduling and rescheduling. Another reviewer also expressed challenges he had with the emotional overhead that Stone brings to interactions, which helped me understand that this is a pattern. Not everyone can carry someone else's emotional challenges, I personally only wanted a small thing fixed, but what actually happened left me feeling unsafe. The small problem with my washing machine became much larger and the fix took nearly two weeks as you can see in the receipts. I was overly patient with the no shows and rescheduling. It wasn't the mistakes made or the property damage that upset me, it was the tone of the emotional text messages that caused me concern. I'm sharing screen captures of some of the most harmful ones here out of concern for women's safety. I do wish HHH and Stone and Virginia well. They seemed to be good and competent people. On the interpersonal effectiveness level there's room for growth.

Ohhhh ::reads fine print of the plumbing section:: the inspection they perform doesn't include this. I went to sleep mad because I worked hard the whole day and I just wanted a hot shower. I was sweaty and dusty. It was a hot mess. I used the handy dandy Yelp app to find someone to come immediately. Why spend the money on a hotel just to take a shower when I could apply it to replacing the fixtures so I could shower in my own home? Focus. Meet the objective: hot shower stat. I chose this company because the response time was fast, the communication was clear, and the price was reasonable. Rafael and Arturo came out to help. I was so happy. They worked on my shower, put new plywood in the cabinet under my sink, and put the cap on my gas dryer line because I couldn't reach it! It was great to have friendly and helpful handymen in my house for a few hours. Stone, the owner of this business is really hands on so you know you will have a great end result. He reminded me about the homeowner insurance my realtor gave me. I forgot about that! My primary takeaway that may resonate with you as well? I appreciate how the owner educated and empowered me with understanding what was happening and how we could fix it instead of embarrassing me that I don't know what is going on in my own home. Listen, my area of expertise is my career outside of the home. I am happy to pay people whose area of expertise is what is in my home. Makes sense! Ohhhh that shower? Had it. I think that is even better than the first meal you have in your new home surrounded by moving boxes. (We had microwave popcorn and pizza delivery) I like handymen because they are of the mindset that if you can fix it fix it. I do not like demolishing/replacing for esthetics. I buy quality things because I know the total cost of ownership. You also know that because you're smart, which is why we are friends. Handmen make this wonderful way of living possible. Sure, they do remodels, but for me the key is maintaining what I have. I do not have disposable mindset. Give your home some love. Repair what has been bothering you for a reasonable price with super helpful and skilled professionals. Live your best life.

Oops sorry!] I was putting my home up for sale and needed a few small repairs before the home inspection. Well, I totally got my dates mixed up and it turned out that I only had two days to make these fixes (otherwise they'd be marked on the inspection report, which we didn't want! I ended up calling Diablo Valley handyman as they were recommended to me by a neighbor. I called first thing in the morning, and I believe I spoke with the actual owner (James.) I told him my situation and even though it sounded like he had a pretty full schedule, he was able to have somebody up the very next day to not only assess everything, but actually make the repairs! We needed to have a fence repaired , a new staircase hand-railing put up, some minor trim fixes around our windows. And then quite a few window screens needed replacing. (We have cats, lol) The fact that they were able to come out on such short notice, make all the repairs in one day, plus the guys that showed up to do the work were warm and friendly! After all of this, I absolutely expected to pay a high premium, however, the invoice came back for a more than reasonable amount! (It was a bit higher than the original estimate over the phone, but that was our fault because we forgot to tell them about the window screens!) Getting ready to sell a house is maddening and so stressful. Do Diablo Valley handyman was one of the only aspects that put us at ease during this entire process! Unfortunately, we moved quite a bit further away so we fall out of these guys' service zone now, but that's part of the reason why I wanted to make sure I wrote this review.... because I never forgot the awesome service we received!
