We stopped in for dinner after a round of golf in Ramsey. Fun bbq joint vibe, casual and homey. The…read moremenu had many options but felt like I needed to try something that was bbq related. We started with cheese curds. Loved that they were batter fried and not breaded. Very tasty and a huge app portion. My entree was the pulled pork sandwich with bbq beans. Everything was very good. Pork had a savory flavor and it was nice and tender. Portions were large. Topped it all off with a Hazy Little Thing beer. Great service. Easy parking. Just off a major road. Great stop.

He told me back then that someday we needed to check out J&J's. We love small business, local, non-chain restaurants. I decided to surprise my husband and take him to J&J's for Father's Day. We are empty nesters, so it was just the two of us for lunch. We arrived just after 12 p.m. There was a line out the door, which we expected since it was Father's Day and Sunday lunchtime. We were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table, which we had no issue with. We ended up waiting less than 10 minutes because there was a table available on the patio. The weather was beautiful, and with summer being so short in Minnesota, we like to take advantage of it whenever we can. Our server came to our table shortly after we were seated, but it was long enough that we both had time to decide what we wanted before she arrived. I ordered the Texas Philly, and my husband had the brisket sandwich. We had to wait a while for our food, which we understood given how busy the restaurant was. Others around us were complaining about the wait, and those tables had a different server who was very apologetic about the kitchen being backed up. The hand-cut fries were piping hot and seasoned perfectly. It's so rare to go out to eat and get hot fries, let alone fries that are piping hot. That alone was worth the wait! My husband loved the brisket sandwich, and the Texas Philly was SO good--piled full of meat. We live in the south metro, but it was well worth the 30+ minute drive to get there. We'll definitely be back and will absolutely recommend J&J's to others!

Passing through the area and on a whim wanted to try the shop…read moreIt was ok, not something I would stop at again if I'm in the area. Ok seating. Folks seem to be trying hard.

So this place is a cool find in Anoka. I don't know how long this has been and let alone a chain…read moresandwich shop, but hurray for me. Ordered delivery from this Capriotti's because I very much had a hankering for a sandwich. Perusing the menu showed it could be difficult to make a selection. I would eat any of their sandwiches except the tuna. I could not make up my mind, so I ordered the Capastrami and the Bobbi. First, I will upon receiving these two sandwiches - they are large! I mean, really large. I ordered a small Bobbi, a medium Capastrami, and a regular order of fries (there were a ton of fries too). A small was almost too much for me, and the medium was certainly a shareable, or an eat half now, and eat the other half later in the week situation. The Sandwiches themselves were good. The Bobbi with the turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce was excellent. More importantly, they offered a side of gravy. That really put it over the top for me. Who doesn't like gravy, right? I dipped everything, including the mountain of fries, into the gravy (everybody in the pool!). Definitely ordering this one again if available. The Capastrami would have been amazing if I had been able to eat some of that from my delivery. Even the following day, it was terrific. For a chain deli, it is much better than the usual suspects we have for chain sandwich shops, and this one will be first on the list when I want a sandwich.

Jersey Mikes truly does offer a sub above. Each aspect of the sandwich is fresh and made to order…read more I ordered the #7 (Turkey) with extra meat and no cheese. The turkey was sliced super thin rift in front of you which I love and you can customize your toppings however you like. All the Cold subs can be served Mikes Way which is with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, spices and "the juice" which is red wine vinegar and an olive oil blend. You definitely don't want to skip that. On top of my meat, I ordered it Mikes Way with banana peppers, pickles, and a red pepper relish which is sweet and salty that get smeared onto the top slice of bread. Overall, I loved this place and the sandwich was one of the best of all the fast food sub chains. The only thing holding it back was slightly slow service for being "fast food" and not many drink options at the soda machine

Stopped in my usual spot later than usual…read more I had the desire to try something different than my usual turkey and Prov. The crew working wasn't the usual. I was familiar with one of the Gals working. It was the Guy running the slicer who seemed "OFF" and really didn't want to be there. I ordered two meats on my 6" sand. The Provelone cheese was sliced much thinner than the Pencil thin thickness but it was the second meat that was stopped short and not given the full usual amount. I don't know what the guys problem was, but my sandwich was not the same as it usually is and I could not wait to hightail it out of there, and I'll have to rethink my decision to go and return to that location, especially in the evening
