    Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

We enjoyed our breakfast at Elmer's before checking out Portland. I wanted to try the Lingonberry Crepes which was refreshing and delicious. My boyfriend tried the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and enjoyed his meal as well. The restaurant itself was clean and could use some updates, but felt elegant at the same time. It wasn't a busy morning, but service was just okay. Our waitress took our order, dropped the food, and only came back to drop the bill without checking on us for refills or asking how everything was. We really enjoyed our Oregon vacation and when we are back in town I would give this restaurant a try again!

We visited Elmer's while trying to find an option for a turkey platter for one of the guest's birthdays. The food was good, but nothing amazing. I had the German pancake, which was huge and felt like dessert more than breakfast. The service was good when we could find someone, but we found it to be short staffed leaving many dirty tables and unpleasant bathrooms. It served its purpose, but we won't be back.

What a great experience. I'm not too fond of diners especially ones next to gas stations. However, Elmer's is not what you expect. Yes, it's diner food and yes, it's surrounded by gas stations. But, it's clean, friendly and the food was very delicious. Caitlin, our waitress was so good and made us feel valued. Our hostess sat us right in front of the fireplace knowing we were freezing haha.

Elmer's - 10001 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, ORVisited: February 14, 2026 Stopped in for breakfast and the place was huge and packed, which honestly surprised me a bit after the experience. Ordered a Bloody Mary ($8.99) and the Bacon & Tillamook Potato Cakes & Eggs ($17.99) -- total came to $26.98. The highlight was definitely the Bloody Mary. Nice flavor and actually the most memorable part of the meal. The breakfast itself was average and felt a bit overpriced for what you get. Nothing bad, just nothing that stood out, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. Overall it was fine, but not enough to make me want to come back.

Stopped by Elmer's and it gave more of a diner feel. Service was just okay. I had an omelette, it was fine, nothing special. The drink was overpriced and looked half full, which was disappointing. On the plus side, the pancakes were tasty and they do have parking, but overall it seemed like a basic restaurant with basic meals.

First coming here! Took a road trip to Oregon and Washington state from California with my family and came by this restaurant. Yummy food and nice service. Ambiance very casual and home-vibes. :)

Place is located next your hotel so we thought we would give it a try. Got a seat right next to the fireplace which was nice on this cool night. I ordered an IPA which was a surprise. My wife got the chicken Cobb salad lighter version which she enjoyed. I got the fish, shrimp, and chips. Everything was really good. Fish and shrimp tasted fresh. Our server Angel took good care of us.

So we were staying in the area and my sister wanted to eat at Sherri's only to find that it closed. The place the hotel suggested was Elmer's yet no one at the hotel lobby had eaten there. Decided to try it. Primarily a breakfast place, this really fit the bill. Food was good, service good (a tad slow), and the ambiance was great. Fire places were going. I would come back.

The lunch portions were incredibly generous, especially the grilled cheese and fries, which were actually a kids meal! The buffalo chicken Caesar wrap was a little lacking in Caesar flavor, but where it lacked in Caesar, it definitely made up for it with the buffalo flavor, and it was still incredible. 10/10 across the board! The customer service was also amazing, and the staff were genuinely such a pleasure to interact with. And the little doodle on the bag was just the cutest added bonus! Definitely left much happier with this visit than my first one!

For mains, my friend ordered the elk burger, and as a self-proclaimed elk burger connoisseur, her approval means something -- she thoroughly enjoyed it. I went with the pulled pork sandwich, which was good and flavorful, and paired really well with their pepper & cabbage coleslaw on the side. We also split a cup of the roasted red pepper and tomato bisque, which was honestly a highlight of the whole meal -- rich, well-balanced, and worth ordering on its own. Drinks deserve a shoutout too: their non-alcoholic options were great. My friend raved about the guava lemonade, and I had the blueberry vinegar shrub, which was excellent -- bright, crisp, and refreshing.

Room for improvement…read more I don't usually do less than a 4-star review for local places; however, this place on the restaurant/bar side, I was not a raving fan...yet. So much potential and a GREAT addition to the street, was just a miss for us. We live quite close, and while not pickleball people now, sounded like some fun and when I found out they had partnered with another local pizza spot (very famous) I was in! Bar, lovely human, was wonderful, but drinks were just okay, well-priced though and fast, love it! We ordered a pie to-go, and after an hour or so and many drinks waiting (our choice), and no buzz on the alert button they hand out, my partner went up to the to-go counter and asked. Thought they were just slammed. Nope! It had been sitting there for so long it was cold, soaking through the bottom, and when he asked, was told, we didn't hear it and it's our fault....Okay, that's one way to go. It didn't buzz, we heard many others and they make themselves known ;) I would have appreciated just a "oh, it's been ready, here you go." I don't expect service to be perfect or without personally or an apology. But blaming was not necessary when we were not complaining. We will hopefully be welcome again after this review, as it's meant to help improve not hurt. Just a disappointing time that I hope can change. Clearly popular, maybe just one experience for one couple :)

This place got shut down for a rat infestation last year. Since I work nearby, I thought I would support Support local business since they reopened and cleaned-the place up. I was just there today and had a happy hour portion of tater tots and a garden salad and also got a couple slices of cake to go. The happy hour price on the menu for the tater tots is six dollars. They charged me seven dollars. They charged me $.50 for a small side of ranch for my salad. I ordered a slice of carrot cake and a slice of pink champagne. I just got home and they put fun Fetty cake in the box. I trusted the restaurant to give me what I ordered and so I didn't think I had to double check the boxes since they were in a bag that was already tied. I bartend at a local bar in the area and often recommend Bridge city to our customers. Never again. I feel robbed. Never again will I order my kids birthday cakes there either. I know it's just a few dollars but it's principle. Integrity is everything to me. And the biggest issue is honestly not the mistake in the cake, I have never ordered a salad at any restaurant my entire life and been charged for salad dressing. Have you? Shouldn't salad dressing come with salads? isn't that a given?
