Twice, early in cold February mornings I smelled someone cooking fish. The first morning I…read moresuspected it was our son preparing lunches. The second morning I realized it was the smell of a hot wire. I traced it to a sub panel in our furnace enclosure. Taking off the cover, I could see the melting insulation and read the temperature of the thick cable at over 600°. We called out an HVAC company. Their man made a good effort and replaced a breaker in the box. However, the next morning I could smell the cooking fish again. They recommended Jefferson Electric. Jefferson sent out a supervisor to assess the situation and give us a quote. He ended up going to buy the parts, replacing the entire box and solving the problem, removing our fire hazard. Price was fair Good people!

They sent a guy out to see our situation (several small electrical jobs), who provided us with options and a detailed estimate that itemized parts and labor for each task. The guys who came to do the work--Alex and Bruce--were extremely professional, courteous and unobtrusive. They did the job in a timely fashion. So many of the plumbing, electric and HVAC contractors are just trying to sell and up-sell (yes, I've had bad experiences with a few), but this company is honorable.

Just this week Jason and his help, Caleb from the electrical side replaced and upgraded our full electrical board. Everything is running perfectly and the old, fire-hazard electrical board that we had is gone along with our worries. Couldn't be happier with the service or the value for the money. Peace of mind is truly priceless but we didn't have to break the bank to get it. Thanks Allen for another job well-done.

Routine inspection of my furnace found a capacitor that was starting to show signs of going out of…read morespec. Was told the part was under warranty, but the part would be $280 to install. The technician had the part already in his hand, and it is a plug and play part, which may at most cost $5. This is horrible business practice, and I will no longer be doing business with Plumbing Heating Paramedics. This company promotes pulling a fast one on their customers, as Wayne the tech mentioned to me he knows the part is very inexpensive, yet still chooses to work for this company, and then was attempting to force his religeon on me by saying I would be finding Jesus some day. Because I had purchased a furnace from Plumbing and Heating Paramedics and received excellent…read moreservice and a fair price, they were first on my list when I found an outdoor water faucet frozen after the winter's cold weather. A technician came out and inspected it. He said he needed to turn water off to the whole house but probably would run into a problem with the shut off valve, and recommended that be replaced also. The total bill was going to be almost $1000. I wanted to think about it so paid him $85 for a service call and told him I would get back to him in a few days. In the meantime I spoke with a friend who has some plumbing knowledge and he told me how to make the repair. I didn't need to shut off the water at all. It cost me less than $6 and took about 5 minutes. I definitely feel I this technician was trying to swindle me. I called the owner and asked to speak with him to give him a chance to rectify the situation, but after leaving a message because he wasn't available never got a return call. I would avoid these people because now I sincerely questioned their honesty and/or competency.
