So this review is long overdue but I just recently found out about the situation as it has been…read moreover 10 years since I went here. I went here when I was 16 for braces because I had a "snaggle" tooth on one side of my mouth and was super self conscious about it. The rest of my teeth I thought were fine but just really wanted to fix that one tooth. After some begging from my parents they agreed and brought me to get braces. Things were great at first, I had to have a tooth pulled because my mouth was crowded and we couldn't get that one tooth where it was supposed to be. No big deal, got the tooth pulled and then got the braces put on. My mom had made it very clear to Dr Mehan that she did not want my teeth altered at all besides you know the braces being put on and them straightening out. I think I only had the braces on for a little over a year, but after about 6-7 months my smile was beautiful! I loved it. My teeth looked awesome and I was very confident about my smile and was excited to get them off because lets face it, braces are not very comfortable, and figured since my teeth looked straight I should be getting them off soon. They ended up saying that I needed a couple more months which I thought okay no big deal I've made it this far. I remember a visit where they were in my mouth with some type of equipment which I assumed was like filing off some glue off some braces that had moved or something, I don't know I just went along with it because Dr Mehan told me it had to happen and again I was 16 so I trusted him to know what he was doing. A couple months later I got my braces off - how exciting right! Nope not that exciting. I noticed now that on the right side of my smile it was not straight, it was straight in the front but one side of my smile went up giving it the look that i had a crooked smile which my teeth were not like this before. I brought this up to Dr Mehan and he showed me that from the inside of my mouth looking up at the teeth the looked straight, I told him them being straight wasn't an issue my smile was clearly going up on one side. He suggested he put some hooks on the back teeth of that side and we would put rubber bands on it to try and "help pull my smile back down", which never ended up working. Ever since I've been self conscious of my smile. I recently brought it up to my mom that I still couldn't understand how I went from having a beautiful smile a few months prior to getting my braces off and then it all of a sudden be crooked. She informed me that Dr Mehan HAD FILED DOWN MY TEETH on that side, without permission of her and she had confronted him about it the day that he put the hooks in the back to try and "pull my smile down". My mother is not a confrontational person and wanted to protect me from being more self conscious than I already was as a young teenager so she never told me about it until recently, which I wasn't really pleased about I really wish I had known and I wished we had gone through with legal action as he went against my parents wishes AND FILED DOWN MY TEETH! So now I have to look into getting caps put on my teeth or something in order to fix my smile which costs a good chunk of cash that I do not have so probably won't happen for a while. I get that there are a lot of great reviews about this place but please just be careful and make sure he doesn't file your children's teeth down without your permission.

I am writing to share our experience with Dovetail Dental regarding my husband David's treatment…read more In February 2025, David saw Dr. Senat for a check-up and agreed to have his teeth extracted. We were charged $2,850.00 for the extractions. On April 30, 2025, David underwent the procedure using only nitrous oxide. In hindsight, we believe Dr. Senat should have advised against this or referred David to an oral surgeon. The experience was extremely painful, and Dr. Senat was ultimately unable to extract Tooth 22. We were then referred to Apex Oral Surgery, where we had to pay an additional fee for Dr. Torio to successfully complete the extraction. The initial treatment plan from Dovetail totaled $14,161.00, which notably included a charge for a "backup" denture. After subsequent issues with Dr. Senat, we requested a transfer to another dentist within the practice. In February 2026, David had four implants placed by Dr. Torio. Following the healing period, we requested a new treatment plan from Dovetail to integrate a bottom denture with the implants. The quote provided was $14,157.00, with potential additional costs bringing the total to $14,995.00. Seeking a second opinion, we visited Bedford Dental Care. Their quote for the exact same procedure was $6,954.95--a difference of over $8,000.00. Due to the excessive pricing and the difficulties we encountered during the extraction process, we would advise others to research alternative providers before committing to a major procedure at Dovetail Dental. I am also appalled at some of the things that they said that my family and I needed to have done with our teeth... At our first appointments the other day at Dental Designs of New England, Dr. Shetty reviewed everything and came to the conclusion that everything that they had told me at Gentle Dental was not correct. I chose Dr. Shetty because of her phenomenal reviews both online and through word-of-mouth here in town. She has a way about her and she is absolutely wonderful, as are all of her staff!!! My children were absolutely delighted at their visit, and both the staff and Dr. Shetty make your dental visit a great one! I highly recommend dental designs of New England!!! Dr. Shetty's cautious approach is well appreciated, she is super nice as are all of the staff, and they most definitely know what they are talking about. Honesty goes a very long way with me, and it is refreshing to have such a thorough dentist, after the awful two year experience at Gentle Dental. Thanks Dr. Shetty and Staff!

I would highly advise to stay away from this dentist office…read more I had 20k worth of work done at this practice almost 3 years ago. I've dealt with nothing but suffering since then. At first, I was happy with the work, since my smile was much better. Unfortunately, I was in for a rude awakening. This office doesn't stand behind their work. Their 5 year 'warranty' means nothing to them.  I've spent the last 3 years not being able to eat with my front teeth, being worried every single day that my tooth would fall out, because it's done just that for 3 years. The tooth has fallen off every 3-6 months for almost 3 years now. Every time it happens, the doctor denies that anything is wrong with it and just re-cements it back on knowing it'll fall off in another 3-6 months. Each time I've asked for it to be actually fixed but was told that "nothing was wrong with it". Knowing full well that something was indeed wrong with it because a crown shouldn't fall off continuously.  When I pushed to have something be done with it, they tried dropping me as a patient and tried getting me to sign an NDA waiver stating I wouldn't speak of this to anyone. When I said I wouldn't sign anything, they then told me it was "miscommunication" and wanted to see me again. Then when I told them I do not want to be seen in their office because of how they've treated me, they've ignored me for 3 months.   I've seen two doctors since and both confidently told me they could fix it and that something is indeed wrong with it. Now I'm left to have to pay for this tooth fully a second time. Actually, the Dental assistant at the new practice could even see it right away and had two ideas prior to even seeing the dentist!  I am writing this review today, in hopes that someone will see this and it will spare them the time and effort and suffering that this place has put me through.
