My latest delivery of oil was $3.79 a gallon. Other local companies were charging under three or a little over three dollars a gallon. When I contacted Homestead, they first told me I get a 15% discount because I'm on auto and I would get a discount on the next delivery. When I told them I was canceling all of my services they said sorry to see you go. There was no attempt to remedy the situation or check into the absorbent $3.79 charge.

The kid that came in first had no clue what he was doing, had an attitude, did not do a diagnostic or troubleshoot the actual issue. He just blindly went straight to replacing a $7 part and charged $399. He left and I didn't have heat. He had no clue that it was the gas valve. In addition, he replaced the thermo coil with a used part. Part of the fee is a walk on fee that others only charge if no work is performed. Second guy came in and did perform a cleaning but they didn't address the issue. Eversource had come in and we discovered the actual issue and it was after the first kid came in and blindly replaced parts that did not need to be replaced. In addition, they sent me an invoice in the mail. However, I had already paid on site.

We have been of customers Gottier Plumbing & Heating AND their Oil service for well over 35 years;…read morethey have been there for us when we've needed them and they have provided excellent service and support. 2 months (December) after we moved into our house in Vernon, CT, many years ago, our furnace needed to be replaced. We reached out to Gottier, a local Oil/Plumbing & Heating company. They came right out and replaced the furnace and put us on a payment plan. Very easy and excellent work. Well, 37 years later, we found ourselves needing to replace that furnace. We called Gottier. We didn't even get a 2nd opinion because we didn't want to use someone else. They gave us another great payment plan and came out to install the furnace. When they left that afternoon we had a new furnace and everything was cleaned up as if they hadn't even been there. Unfortunately, they didn't clean up the rest of the basement so we're going to have to do that ourselves! Lol. When I lost my job a few years ago it happened to coincide with an increase in oil prices and our monthly budget payment was going to increase significantly. I called Gottier and told them that I had lost my job and the woman I spoke to was just so sympathetic and adjusted our budget plan so that we could afford it until I found another job. Her last words to me as we hung up: "Promise me that when you get another job you'll call and we can adjust the amount to reflect the increase." I promised and 6 weeks later, I called her to tell her of my new job. She was so excited for me! And for Gottier, of course! What's prompting me to put this in a review today? Well, a couple of days ago we got a phone call from Eric at Gottier fuel telling us that, as we could imagine, given the state of the world, oil prices were going to go up. We had a scheduled delivery 2 days hence. He was calling because he wanted us to know that the prices were going up so we wouldn't be shocked. That's amazing customer service for sure! They are so kind, so helpful and so understanding. If you're looking for an oil company and or a heating and plumbing company, you certainly cannot go wrong with Gottier.

This company is outstanding…read more We had a large amount of water in our basement, due to a recent heavy snow and a failing sump pump. I called Roto Rooter and told them of the problem. A person was there within the hour to see the situation. The next day, we got our new sump pump, and the cleanup crew started. The crew did a magnificent job. The water was gone and the basement dried out by their equipment. Moreover, they carted away all the destroyed items a few days later. Best of all, Roto Rooter filed the insurance claim, and I was freed of having to do the negotiating and paperwork. Some reviews say their service is pricey. I don't know who else would have done such a great and thorough job for less. This was a blessing.

THE WORST!! Took $695, ghosted on my birthday, and now trying to scam me out of a refund…read more Do not trust this company. They are highly unprofessional, unreliable, and have zero respect for their customers' time or money. On Sunday night (May 17th), I paid them $695 to fix a plumbing issue. The job was only half-done because they claimed their camera man wasn't available, but they promised he would arrive the following morning. The next day was my birthday. Not only did they completely ghost me and ruin my day, but I also had to cancel plans and family members had to miss work--losing hard-earned money--just to wait around for a technician who never bothered to show up or call. When they finally gave me another window today between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, they missed that too. When we called to find out where they were, the staff became incredibly defensive, making absurd excuses about being "backed up" and trying to push us to late evening or weekend slots. To make matters worse, instead of apologizing for wasting our time for two days straight, the person on the phone had a massive attitude and tried to talk down to me. Now, they are actually trying to claim that the camera inspection is a "free courtesy" just so they can avoid giving us a partial refund for the work they never did! You cannot charge people $695, perform half a job, repeatedly no-show, cause people to lose money taking off from work, and then use technicalities to steal money when you fail to deliver. Save yourself the headache, the money, and the disrespect--go with literally any other plumbing service.
