I went here to get away for my birthday. Not bad. Very comparable to a one bedroom at a Staybridge Suites. My only complaints were you can't stream to the TVs and they have satellite cable (not a lot of channels and please don't rain) You're inside of a country club so if you're into golfing than this is the perfect spot. (I only watch when Tiger is playing fan) They have: Indoor and outdoor swimming pools A restaurant Golf range Golf store The location is not bad. The Good - Good location. It is near the state parks and restaurants. The area is less congested than the main Myrtle beach area. The Bad - it does not have amenities shown on website. There are no sports courts, no exercise room, no game room. The hot tub was not well maintained. There was a constant loud noise in the enclosed pool area. The indoor pool was a little chilly, could barely tell the difference between its water temperature and the outdoor temperature. The outdoor garbage and recycle bins were filled to the point of overflowing. The floors, AC air intakes, baseboard moldings were dirty. read more

The room had a lovely screened in porch, stackable washer and dryer, dishwasher, well-stocked kitchen, stove, microwave, coffee maker with coffee for 2 days, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, laundry powder for 2 washes, shampoo, soap, lotion, tp, towels, pull-out sofa, two twin beds in second bedroom, King bed in master with jetted tub, two bathrooms. Lovely indoor, heated pool with hot tub, two seasonal outdoor pools, grills, fitness center, two bars and eating facilities- one outdoor and one indoor for breakfast and lunch (very reasonably priced), playground, free mini golf, beautiful golf course. They provided area maps and offered on-site activities. Close to shops, a Publix and Food Town, several restaurants. Only a few miles from Hammock Shops, Brookgreen Gardens ad Huntington Beach State Park. They lent us a free pass to get into State parks. Loved this place and will be back! So yea. Let's start with the things I have to complain about...... 1. Old ass tv in master bedroom. But not really a big deal. We didn't come here to watch tv. Lol 2. Toilet in the master bedroom would not go down. AND I knew there was a problem when I found a plunger under the sink. 3. PARKING SUCKS. This is the only reason I gave it a four. Would've been a five if the toilet had worked. But good things.... the room was very clean. The AC worked perfectly. The bed was soooo comfortable. We got a 2 bedroom. But I didn't take pictures of the second bathroom and bedroom. But they were very nice and clean. Everything you need in the kitchen is there. Even had compact washer and dryer. In case you need it. The price wasn't too bad. Especially because it's bike week. I recommend this place. It's nice. Affordable. AND first thing I do is check for bed bugs!!!! You'll be happy to know NONE found!!!! Stopped over to visit friends who were staying In building 8 which is in phase one that they have turned into a year around apartment complex now called the Grove. It's a giant construction zone as they are fixing up the other 7 buildings and have torn up the entire big pool area in the middle of July of all times so the people in building 8 and the renters who are in the only completed building number one have to watch all the stuff Being wrecked I guess to remodel, they tore out the playground equipment and it is now a Dog PP park right next to the picnic area and grills, they tore out the basketball court , shuffleboard and other games court to make it into a parking lot, there is no more activity program , the arcade is gone and the exercise room closed . Now if you go there the time share people are only booked into the three buildings next to the indoor pool and the small outdoor pool . So beware if you have booked reservations to not stay in any of the buildings in phase one or your view will be of big dumpsters, construction workers , painters , carpenters work trucks and a pool with all the cement around it dug up that you can not use . Sad to see what they have done to a once beautiful complex and feel sorry for the year around renters when they move in and discover you can hear everything going on in the apartments next to you and above you due to no soundproofing. My friends tried to call the front desk to report the door lock needed repaired someone must have kicked it open it was out of the wood on the door frame but no one ever answered the phone during the day. read more

This place does have some good things - it just was so overwhelmed with the bad things, we have to warn others to stay away. First, they have updated their rooms. We stayed in a one-bedroom condo that had a flatscreen (although small) in both the living room and bedroom. There was hardwood flooring in the living room, kitchen and hallway. Tile in the bathroom and nice carpet in the bedroom. But they did not update the comfort level of the items you sit and sleep on. The couch was not comfortable sitting on and the mattress was pretty much as soft as a 2x4. Pros - The staff was extremely good, pleasant and had a desire to help with the several issues we had. The price of the condo was good too. Added to it, having a washer and dryer with laundry soap was a nice touch. We also like the screened-in porch. The free pass to the local beach park was great too. And you are really not far from cool things to do in MB Cons - Not only are the walls paper-thin but the one-bedroom condos are attached to a two-bedroom one and have a flimsy door separating them. To make things worse, there is a huge gap under the door - so sounds come streaming from the other side if you have inconsiderate neighbors (which of course we did). We actually had to be moved from our first place because the neighbor, who somehow fit three very loud families into the place, cooked very greasy food. Their smoke alarm went off several times - and the smell of the food came into our condo from the gap. The second place had two families and 6 kids next to us. At least they didn't cook - but the noise was unbearable. If you are looking for a cheap place to cram your families into and let them be obnoxious to all those around them - this is the place for you. If you are looking for place that you can relax after a long day of vacationing and sleep in this is not it. read more

First I find a tube TV in one of the bedrooms. Who still has a tube TV anymore? The TV in the living room is so small I need binoculars to watch a show. All the door attachments are missing from the refrigerator door. There was no frying pan in the unit. Basically this place needs major face lift. Nice laid back atmosphere and beautiful landscaping I had a 2 bedroom condo and it was very spacious and even has a half bath in the main living area. Each bedroom has it own private bath and the patio is screened in. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and there is plenty of parking if you are looking for a relaxing stay I definitely recommend his place. I was saving my review until we actually finish our vacation, but I just can't wait any longer, or likely even stay here any longer. We booked a 1 bedroom suite with a pull out couch. The first night, we pulled out the couch and found it filled with popcorn kernels from the previous guests. The bed had obviously not been cleaned or even checked in some time. Once unfolded, we saw that it had a mattress cover also covered in popcorn, dust/dirt, a blood stain and body hair. The front office closes at 11pm, and there is an after hours number to call. We called several times going straight to voicemail. Each time we left a message, and never received a call back. Since this is also the emergency and security number, we were quite shocked not to receive any response. To make the best of the situation, we pulled off the mattress cover which revealed a large urine stain at the head of the bed. We opened the bag of linens found in the closet and discovered there were no pillow cases (the pillows also had stains), only a fitted sheet, no top sheet and a blanket. We took a pillow off the main bed and hoped that the blanket was clean enough to sleep under without a sheet. I slept on the opposite side from the urine stain. The mattress is about an inch thick and in three sections with cracks running across the bed. This is not a comfortable bed for any adult, and I'd never put a child in such a dirty bed. The following morning, we spent a couple hours coordinating with phone repair, housekeeping, management. We had several other issues such as a dirty refrigerator with sticky goo that makes a sound when the door is open. The floor was so dirty that walking from the bathroom to the living room in socks made our socks black on the bottom. All of the buttons on the phones had been removed, and no matter what we pressed, we could not call any of the extensions listed for service. Although management offered to deduct the first night from the bill, by 1pm, housekeeping still had not come to take care of the bed or bring any linens. We left to continue with our plans for the day. When we returned in the evening, we stopped by the office to find out if everything was taken care of. The girl at the desk had no clue what we were asking about, and said that unless we talked to her directly about it, we'd have to explain the whole story. A moment later, she sees all the notes in the desk log (probably should have looked there to begin with), and said she's sure it must have been taken care of. She was gruff and unpleasant to deal with and a poor reflection on any hospitality brand. We returned to our room and saw that someone had visited. We saw a pile of linens on the dining table (too lazy to put in a drawer or closet instead of the dining table?). We should have thought to check that everything was included this time, but we were trying to enjoy our vacation and don't expect to have to double check behind resort staff to make sure they've completed simple housekeeping tasks. Again, we pulled out the couch to prepare the bed and saw the section with the urine stain had either been cleaned or replaced. We pulled out the linens to start making the bed, and saw that the mattress pad was littered with several very noticeable long black body hairs. We threw that to the side and continued with the fitted sheet. The sheet either shrank or was too small to begin with and is so tight on the mattress that all four corners of the mattress are lifted off the frame creating a mattress "bowl" to sleep in, like a scene from a comedy, although in this case, not funny at all. We found the top sheet, which we didn't have the first night and two pillow cases. But now there was no blanket. They removed the blanket, I suppose to clean it, but never brought it back. So last night I slept with a blanket and no sheets. Tonight I get to sleep with sheets and no blanket. How hard is it to perform basic housekeeping tasks? Or at the very least after refunding an entire night, wouldn't someone be sure that we had everything we needed? Not here. We were offered an opportunity to hear about the timeshare program at the resort, but I regret spending the money that's already been charged to my credit card - in full, plus $100 deposit. There's no way I'd ever consider a timeshare here after this second failure in a row. Of course again, no one answers the after hours "security" number, and we're not bothering leaving messages tonight. I will deal with the staff directly in the morning, but can't imagine at this point they'll have much to offer me in the way of reparation for such a horrible stay. We are booked here for a week, but will likely move to another hotel or resort tomorrow unless they can come up with a REALLY good reason for us to continue staying through the holiday. read more

This place is an absolute dump. I called when I booked this to ensure the room I had was an updated one with granite counter tops. I specifically asked this. We checked into a room that had modern 1980s decor and was filthy. It was then blamed on me by the staff because I didn't keep a log for them of who I spoke with. The first room we checked into had dust caked on the blinds, some sort of food spooge running down the dishwasher door, stained carpets, the floors and carpet were black from dirt, mold in the shower, rust in the dishwasher and on the refrigerator. It also had the smoke detector hanging by the electrical wires, and paint chips in the hvac vent as further amenities. The second room they placed us in after begging and pleading was somewhat cleaner. It still had mold in the shower and filthy floors and carpet. The bath towels smelled of sulfur. I walked across the floor and turned the bottom of my white socks black. The furniture is all banged up and looks like crap. Walls have paint chipped and are banged up. The bar stools have ripped upholstery and the legs are coming apart. The explanation given to me was that the unit was one that was not updated. I don't update my house every year either, but I clean it and don't leave it to deteriorate to an absolute pig-sty. read more

This place is awful. The resort is beautiful at first glance but once inside we seen our shower had some brown grime at the top as well as hair, our safe didn't lock and the walls are paper thin. When we requested towels for the pool they said they were out of linen. Asked for hangers and a broom was told housekeeping would bring it and they never did. We haven't even seen housekeeping in the 3 days we have been here. Usually Marriott and Interval put us in great places but this was disappointing we might as well have been at the Holiday Inn. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here! I was visiting with family and couldn't book a room in time. But when we showed up I was able to secure an open room right by my families room. The staff was helpful friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean and ready to for us. Everything we asked for was given. The pool was very enjoyable. The only con was the tv in the bedroom was a small old school box tv with no attachments for us to watch our devices. Wasn't a big deal but something they should consider upgrading. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the hotel setup was beautiful. I am booking my room for our trip next year right after this review. read more

Just checked in. We came from California to stay here. We have a beautiful time share at tamarack beach resort. The beach is within walking distance. This is not within walking distance of myrtle beach. Couch is worn out have to sit sideways on couch to see the tv. Kitchen seems to have everything you need. Funny the silverware is above the kitchen sink. I am short and it was hard to reach. Bed looks comfortable and bathroom has everything you would need. Do not see any information about what is near by for things to see and do. No idea how housekeeping works if you need trash pick up or towel exchange. read more

We checked in about 3:20 and that went smoothly. We were just staying two nights, booked through Priceline. When we got to the room everything looked good. The room showed a little age but was nice. Two flat screen tv's. Then we went to the bathroom to find an extremely full and dirty toilet. I tried to call housekeeping and the front desk and got no answer. I drove back to the front desk and described the issue and said we'll send someone right over. When I got back to the room a man was walking in with a plunger and in about a minute came out and said I got it. He walked out with a now dripping plunger and said I'll call housekeeping. My wife now believes that nothing in the room is clean and sends me to buy cleaning supplies. When I got back from the store no one from housekeeping had been to the room yet. I got back in the car, back to the front desk and got another apology. They got on the radio and asked if they were on their way. As I get back to the room, a man arrives with some spray cleaner and cleans the toilet. So after my wife cleaned the bathroom we settled in. You hear everything above and beside you. The ac made noise. This easily could have been four stars with a little effort from the employees. Can't recommend at all. read more

I would not recommend this place because of house keeping and cheep appliances that break down fast. They have an outside company that comes in and cleans and they don't even have a mop or vacuum with them at all when they clean. The floors are so dirty you can't walk on them without shoes. We stayed for two weeks and and had what they called a full service cleaning after a week, what a joke. They came by 1 time to change out towls and take trash. This was the worst place I have every stayed on my timeshare and will never return. We had to call matanence the first day to fix the toilet, which he could not fix so he told us what to do if it stopped working so we could do it ourselves without calling him. We also called maintenance about our burners on our stove because they were so popped up you could not sit a pan flat so they told us to use a heavy pan. The door was failing off the store but maintenance did fix it. Then you have the ice maker which after 7 days, 2 replaced parts and no ice it finally worked and made some ice but not more than 2 cups a day. We had to have ice delivered from the restaurant. The lint trap was messed up on the dryer so the lint everytime you dryed your clothes just blow all over the wall. I will never return to this place and stay again. This is a very nice place. Our room was very clean. Beds are super comfortable. The whole building needs cosmetic updates. I don't care for the dark red paint on the walls of our room...it really needs to be brighter (beachy blues, or soft whites) But that's a non-issue. The staff is friendly. The grounds are well kept. We had lunch in the East Grill & Pub. The food was excellent! Hot crab dip, the Cuban Panini, pork tacos, housemade salad dressing. Great food! Overall, this is a nice place to stay! read more

Typical Festiva resort. Rooms are in disrepair, facilities are basic, but the lies are plentiful. - The room that we were in had to be "adjusted" from the moment we arrived as none of the lights would turn on until we stumbled all the way to the kitchen (the lights were not plugged into the outlets controlled by the switch). The nightstand lamps weren't plugged in at all. The bed is as hard as a rock so I didn't get any decent sleep. When we woke for breakfast, none of the stove top elements worked. I found that they were all unplugged but got one of them working for us. - It's autumn so the temperatures drop into the 40's at night and most of the tourist attractions have closed. As a result, there isn't much to do in Myrtle Beach but you can sit back in your room and enjoy your tiny television. The bedroom actually had a tiny CRT television (I hadn't seen one in almost a decade so it was like a museum piece). Also, the wifi is iffy at best and has a lot of drops at night. - "We're upgrading the rooms soon"... typical BS heard at every resort in the Festiva inventory (and we visited 4 of them this summer - Atlantic Beach, Orlando, Charleston, and here). They've been saying that for the last 6 years and this resort still seems to only have the one model room that they show everyone. Our room looked exactly like the one we stayed in 2 years ago (except the Kool-Aid stains on the floor and coffee table falling apart). To top off the entire trip, we are staying for 2 weeks and they have made us move rooms after the first week. While checking in originally, I made it a point to stipulate that we were here for 2 weeks and they still couldn't adjust to accommodate us staying in the same room. -- At this time, we have moved into another room, same building, same problems. So far, the biggest difference is the smaller refrigerator, the missing nightstand (maintenance brought one from storage but it looks completely out of place and there is no lamp - don't need it anyway), and the bedroom has another tiny flatscreen instead of the CRT. --- Basically, this is a typical Festiva stay. They bought the resort, promise upgrades as they sucker more people into the program while never actually upgrading anything, and let the complaints roll in while they collect maintenance fees to line their pockets. UPDATE for WEEK 2: Besides all of crap going on that I already mentioned, the icemaker tried to poison us. At first, we thought that the cleaning crew had used a dirty cloth to clean the ice container so we cleaned the entire freezer and ice container thoroughly. The slowest ice maker in the world made 1 batch of ice overnight. Still tasted like chemicals. We had to go buy ice for the rest of the week. read more

I'm with Kane M. on this one! This is a terrible place and even if I were offered a free stay here, I'd pass it down! I booked a two bedroom suite with a pull out couch. I arrived with my family at 4pm. I was checked in by KATHLEEN who I found to be the most unprofessional, un-knowlegable, unhappy and non-hospitalable person that I have ever encountered at any hotel/resort. And trust, I've stayed at numerous resorts in the States and abroad. She was by far the worst and should be replaced immediately. At check in, she gave me all the wrong information and was difficult to communicate with. Fast forward, I get to my room and as I entered, I found that the house cleaning staff were still there. She said that the room wasn't ready. It's now 5:15 and we had to go back to the car and wait. While sitting and waiting impatiently only to be approached by a women wearing cleaning gloves who states that my room wasn't ready and that she would be finished in 15 minutes. That the last guests had trashed the place. Pissed and thinking that if the room wasn't ready and the last guest had "trashed the place" and me there waiting to get in that now they're going to do a speed cleaning job was just "un-acceptable". So after sitting for a few more minutes, I decided to go back to desk services to get this situation resolved. I reached the desk and explained the situation to "KATHLEEN" and of course, she was unmoved and unsympathetic to the situation. I explained it all to her about the room and ask to be moved to a different room. She retreated and came back with a "They're aren't any rooms available. Then she proceeded to make calls to the house keeping staff and such. With that, I left. I go back to the room only to find the following...The placed smelled of pure bleach! The master bedroom BATHROOM was disgusting! The sink and the tub were both NASTY! There were black hairs in numerous places in the tub and there was still a complimentary used soap stuck to the bottom of the tub and you could see the ring around the tub with towels folded over the tub as if it were clean (I took pictures). Obviously, the tub was either just wiped out and left as it was because of my complaint or the house keeping staff can't clean. Either way, both are probably true! The sink was the same. The room had an old big back TVs that aren't even sold anymore and didn't work. The night stand lamp was broken and the shade was filthy with dust. On the bed were all the bath towels, all of which were dirty. The sheet (just as Kane had said) was too small for the bed which turned it into a bowl. The dresser had hairs and other small things in them. Bedroom#2 This too had an old television and the draws bottoms were broken. Bathroom#2 Just like the master bathroom, it to had a dirty tub and the floors were dirty. Living-room WOW-OH-WOW...All the furniture was dated. We were nervous to sit on it for fear of getting bitten by something. The furniture looked and smelled old. I wouldn't dare open that pull-out! and let's not forget that horrible and disgusting carpet. It was old, stained, and you could see the dirt in it. You dare not walk across it bare foot. All the ceiling fans, lamps, and plastic flowers were dusty. KITCHEN, KITCHEN, KITCHEN.......FILTHY, FILTHY, FILTHY (I HAVE PICTURES) The dishes, tea-pot, pans, counters, cutlery, fridge, and the MICROWAVE. After making several attempts to contact the front desk for assistance just to find that NO one answered. Ever! No matter what time you called in the evening, NO ONE EVER ANSWERED! The only 24 number to call for emergencies and no one answers (jUST AS KANE HAD SAID) I had to go to the supermarket and purchase cleaning supplies and disinfectant to re-clean every item in that unit for my family to use. I wouldn't/couldn't trust housekeeping to do their job properly. I think that that would've been asking toooooo much. Finally, the next morning after blowing my lid, did staff come and address the issues and they even had the audacity to come with attitudes because they had to do what they get PAID for. And to make matters worse, I inquired about resetting the safe and for them to come to my room before 12noon. When no one showed up, I left my unit and placed the do not disturb flag on the door only to return and find that the safe had been opened. That someone was in my unit which meant that I had to go and purchase new toiletries and food. RECOMMENDATION.... STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE! They know nothing about operating a hospitality business. There should be (minus stars) to give these businesses. This one deserves a negative rating all the way! read more

used Interval to use timeshare. Read reviews but because I had no other options decided to use it. We called ahead and made sure we got a refurbished room. The room had newer updates but they were already dirty and simple things were over seen by house keeping. Someone else's Honey Combs cereal was under a chair in living room. There was hair in the draws. They did cheap updates such as painting the top of the cabinets to make it look like there was crown molding. Rugs were black. We washed every sheet, blanket and had to clean items. The bathroom shower curtain had mold all over it. When we called housekeeping they replaced it. We had a view of a construction area. I don't understand why they don't use better housekeeping. read more
