I can't tell you how much I miss her. She was not only my chiropractor, she was my friend. We had lovely talks upon my visits for adjustments. She is very caring of her patients' health and has so much love in her heart. Out here in PA, I have seen a few chiropractors before I found a good one. He's good, but I don't have the same relationship with him as I had with Dr. Ellen as he is not as thorough as she was with her adjustments. I usually don't write reviews. My experience should be either extremely good or extremely bad for me to prompt the writing. I was seen by this chiropractor a little over a month ago. I went to her for tension type chronic headaches that I've been having for about 6 months. I asked her to be very careful and not to touch my lower back, since I had a lower back surgery 9 years ago, bulging discs and degenerative disc decease. Well... let me tell you... she didn't listen to me. She worked on my lower back along with thoracic and cervical. Next day after her adjustment my lower back and the sacrum area were stiff. I thought it will go away in few days. But alas, I started having trouble walking, heavy legs, tingling in legs, twitching muscles, goosebumps, burning pain in the lower back, numb toes, weakness in my back. Today was my first day ever going to a chiropractor. I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Athanail and booked an appointment. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Dr. Anthanail sat me down before we began and asked my concerns and what brought me in. She thoroughly explained the anatomy to me and what she can offer me through her practice. I recently got my first adjustment from Dr. Ellen and greatly anticipate every appointment. Her office makes me feel relaxed, even in the waiting room. Also, I've waited no more than ten minutes. During my adjustment Dr. Ellen makes me feel very comfortable and relaxed, she is so quick and efficient and before I know it my physical pain is relieved. I told Dr. Ellen about my daughter and her bad, persistent ear infections. She was very informative about how adjusting my daughter could keep her ear infections away and told me to bring her in. I brought in my three year old daughter and we waited for Dr. Ellen to call us into a room. While we were waiting, my daughter was very pleased that there was an entire corner with children's toys. Dr. Ellen came out and made conversation with my daughter about the baby doll she was playing with and had her laughing and feeling comfortable. We went into a room and she adjusted my daughter, who cried for about 15 seconds until she realized she want in pain and she felt much better. Her ear infections haven't come back since.. Dr. Athanail is a very gifted chiropractor. I know, because I have scoliosis and have visited others throughout the city. I trust her completely with my spine, and that is a very high compliment. Dr. Athanail is very intuitive and attuned to energy in the body. Each time I visit her, her alignments shift based on what is showing up in my body that day. I always leave her office feeling better than when I came in. It is also fairly easy to get a last minute appointment if I need it or to change an appointment I've already made. At the time, I was going to a different chiropractor, and still feeling pain every few days, so I wanted to try someone new. I searched online for chiropractors and spotted a review for Dr. Athanail, and figured I'd give it a go. Dr. Athanail absolutely loves what she does and it shows. Her main goal is to get you feeling better. She is serious about what she does, but is lots of fun to be around. Dr. Athanail takes her time with each patient. Before she adjusts you, she applies a heating pad as you lay there listening to the best relaxing music ever. Before long, your mind is clear and your body is totally relaxed and ready for your adjustment. Jeanette, her receptionist, is just as wonderful. She is very sweet and extremely accommodating. Dr. Athanail is amazing! She is professional yet friendly, well-trained, and overall a highly skilled chiropracter who aims to lend an ear to all your problems and educate you about your spine and its health. I suffered from a pretty bad compression injury in my spine about two years back and experienced an excruciating amount of pain for many months.When I came to her office, my neck was stiff and wouldn't move to the left or right, without causing me a lot of pain. She really fixed my neck. I was going to the physical therapist earlier and they helped me a lot too, but its nothing like the work Dr. Athanail did on my spine and neck. I have been going regularly for over 6 months now and I am able to function at a very high level now, including being able to bike, gym and even do weights occassionally, although I have to be mindful about everything I do.
