best place u can go when u have herniated disks and you want to avoid any surgery ( that your insurance doc will recommend you). They will fix your spine. It took me 6 months to fix mine after helpless efforts to do it thru health insurance "doctors" which never mentioned to me decompression machine and pemf machine. I found out from my family member in out of state who had same problem and couldnt walk without pain. This clinic is a life savor for herniated disks. And its out of pocket but price is affordable. Borough Park is very lucky to have this amazing treatment center. Dr. Keller is the best!! And she only picks the best chiropractors to join her team. At this point, I've been seen by everyone in the office and can confirm they are all fantastic. I came here for an extremely painful back spasm (for those of you new to chiropractic, this is the ONLY way to truly FIX back spasms, because the doctor moves the vertebrae back in place and unpinches the nerve that caused the muscles surrounding it to spasm in the first place - everything else only treats symptoms, such as pain killers, muscle relaxers, etc. - you're not actually fixing the root of the problem with those). Anyway, having been through this with my wonky back before, I was looking for a great chiro in Brooklyn and I definitely found one! I saw Dr. Keller on the first visit, and she has an extremely calming and caretaking manner, which was exactly what I needed when I was in so much pain. I felt a lot better after the first adjustment and after resting and icing. I came back the next day (usually it takes two adjustments to really do the job) and was treated by Dr. Stephanie. I liked how she really took the time to examine my whole spine and honed in on key areas without knowing my problem areas prior. Her adjustment did the trick and I felt much better, but wait there's more!!! She had the idea to put me on the rolling table - which I've never had AFTER an adjustment - but it ended up being a genius move, because it really stretched out my back and got rid of any remaining muscle tension. I left feeling like a new woman and ready to tackle the world again!! Even though I live in Park Slope, I will definitely be back here, as it is a quick walk from the D train. Keller is a salesman , a very good one . My experience with them is good at first , but then they show me how much they will charge me and my insurance is not enough for them , that's made me think if this facility is legit and days later they started charging my credit card. Went in day 1, barely able to take steps due to disc injuries, after spinal decompression therapy, I am experiencing a big relief in pain and immobility. I've read some of the negative reviews and i am shocked. Dr.Keller was extremely fair in charging me for what my insurances didn't pay. She made an agreement with me and kept her word. I have a long-term lumbar injury and Brooklyn Spine Center is the best chiro in the city i've found. And it's all women owned-operated which is cool. Went in with migrain pain referral from old chiro who moved out of state. Told her that I was used to adjustments and what I wanted needed to help with my migraines. Waited 2 hours for x ray, assessment and her recommendation. Probably paid 90 for first time visit.She basically told me to spend 1800 on spine therapy and did absolutely nothing for my migrain made it worse in fact. The chiro adjustment was a joke little taps on my spine with some device not by "her the Dr." but by some person in a little room.Stay away from this place she is selling nonsense and did not help me at all. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. I've never had such a thorough explanation of my x-rays. If you just ask, the staff will explain why treatment is needed and how it works. Just let Dana know if there's anything you are concerned about and she'll make adjustments to your treatments/exercises. My orthopedic doctor has recommended spine surgery. Heraltwrnative, holistic approach to healing has improved my health drastically in the 8 weeks of treatment I have received this far. Please find out what your out of pocket cost will be for your first visit. I was told by Mary that my insurance would be accepted. I thought I would only be responsible for co-pay. There was no mention of a $175 consultation fee and that decompression would go from between $125-175. I found the truth only after making an appointment. I can't say whether they can help your pain. I can say that it appears that they intentionally avoid saying what it will cost you by saying: "every individual is different and only the doctor can tell you what you need". If you are willing to pay the $175 consultation and any other cost that your insurance doesn't cover then it might work for you. Please be cautious they appear SHADY to me. Best of Luck! read more

If your looking for pain releif id find somewhere else if i were you. They are only interested in money and even though medicare pays 90% at most other chiros , they want another 30-60 per visit. Also they are far too passive and gentle. Dont expect too much in the way of results. Ive been to many many chiropractors and these are not pro active. Also, i have done research and be warned that Dr Melinda Keller has had numberous negative feedback remarks removed from the internet and thus left with a low star rating and no feedback. The Brooklyn spine institiute has 4 drx9000 machines that they will sell you at 2-300$ a pop. This is how the bucks are generated at this office. If you are reading this and they want you do have this done, look into getting something called " Spinal stretch" on amazon or ebay for 99$. Its the same exact thing but you do it yourself at home. Its spinal decompression. Those machines are the biggest bunch of hooey anyones ever tried to sell me on. Yes, they pretend to listen to your complaints and ills, but the office is packed and to me they are a very poorly run chiropratic office with no real talent for healing. I have been going to this facility for several years now and I would not go anywhere else! I had a herniated disc as well as other back issues, and Dr. Applebaum, Dr. Tom, Dr. Laurie, and Dr. Keller have all been incredible. Each give great adjustments and always make sure you receive better than average care. Even the staff is fantastic! They always make sure to know you by name and see how you're feeling. I love all of them as individuals and I highly recommend everyone to go, whether you have minor or major spine issues! I've also had issues in paying since my insurance does not cover treatment, and they made sure to do the best they can in helping with payment plans. I've never had an issue. Recently the center began "mind-fit" for those dealing with stress, and it has helped me after just a few visits. This place is great and I really cannot say enough nice things about it! read more

I am a 66 year old male with degenerative arthritis in my spine. I am writing this to attest to the fact that the Brooklyn Spine Center's decompression therapy works. Approximately four months ago I began having severe pain in my neck. My primary care physician prescribed physical therapy. After two months of therapy the pain had somewhat subsided. As soon as I discontinued physical therapy, the pain returned. It progressed to the point where it was so bad that I could not sleep through the night. The only source of relief was taking 800 mg. of Advil three times a day, against the advice of my primary care doctor, who said that surgery was my only remaining option. In a last ditch effort to avoid surgery, I decided to see Dr. Keller, who had successfully treated me for lower back pain about ten years ago. Since I live in Westchester and her office is in Brooklyn, over 30 miles away, it was quite a trip but I was willing to spend time traveling in order to avoid surgery. Dr. Keller took several x-rays, diagnosed bulging discs in my cervical spine, and recommended spinal decompression, which is accomplished by placing the patient on a table connected to a machine which slowly pulls apart the vertebrae, relieving the pressure on the discs between the vertebrae. So far, I have had a series of six treatments over a period of two weeks, and I am remarkably pain free. I am finally able to get a good night's sleep and work through the day without pain. I have stopped taking Advil. I am due for at least two more weeks of treatment, at which point I will have an MRI to examine the progress of the treatment. I am amazed at the results so far - my level of pain has gone from a "10" to a "1" - and I am very optimistic that the result will be permanent. Dr. Keller is a highly experienced chiropractor. She is extremely kind, patient and empathetic. I would highly recommend this therapy to anyone seeking relief from neck pain. read more

The worst decision I ever made, In July of 2014 I had a couple oh herniated disks when I first went to dr. Keller somehow I talked into The decompression theropy, I have been in excruciating pain ever since. She says you need 24 sessions which cost a small fortune and you have no doctor supervision on the decompression machine, apparently one of the techs in adjusting the pulling strength of the machine and I felt this jolt of pain that was the end of my back as I knew it. I DIDN'T complete my theropy because of the pain. Needless to say I never got a call from dr. Keller even tho I told the office about my new pain.
