This is a gem! The sign on the door asked for patience due to understaffing, but there was no need. Our waitress greeted us warmly, and returned with our drinks. The sweet tea was fresh and perfect. Our food was wonderful! Danny's hamburger and fries were delicious, but the real winner were the white wings. FLAVOR BOMBS, they should call them! They were perfection! Stopped in here while traveling to Austin on a Sunday afternoon. This place is unbelievable! I had Chicken Fried Steak, black eyed peas and mashed potatoes. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have had in a while. The waitress was as sweet as could be. I will definitely go back next time I am on Highway 31! read more

If you want some good ole southern cooking, this is the place to go! I had the chicken fried steak with homemade mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. The small was more than enough for me. My husband had grilled pork chops. They were thick and tender and cooked just right. We can't wait to go back for the fried catfish. Take some time and check it out. Food was awful. My husband, I and our sister-in-law had the worst experience here 8/26/23. I ordered the Saturday special and was told I could substitute the mashed potatoes with French fries. Was told no problem. I ordered my "prime rib" Meduim rare. It came with the meat on top if mash potatoes. No pink least of alll red on the meat but a lot of grizzly throughout over done meat. A very thin cut. My husband got the same but wanted macaroni and cheese on the side, ordered extra. No potatoes. He knew he'd pay extra for Mac. His also came with meat thrown on top of potatoes. He sent his back and they literally scrapped potatoes off the meat and left a good portion of potatoes on plate. After second try. No thanks. Take it off bill. Our sister-in-law is allergic to black pepper. Told the server this. No problem. Her order came loaded with pepper. Sent it back. Hers came back with new food but not very good. If you can't substitute just say so. Three different people brought out our orders. Not the person who took it. All three were rude. "I don't know. I'm just bringing this out to you" Insult to injury a 2% surcharge for using a credit card. I did not see that listed anywhere. We would have left had I saw that. I hate that. Just incorporate it into the bill. Never go to this place again. I would urge others not to. read more

Amazing little country gem on the road from Waco to Corsicana. Chicken fried steak was divine and the burger was very good. The stars of the show were the sides: best fried okra in Texas and beer battered onion rings that were golden, crispy and actually tasted like beer! The pecan brownie capped off a wonderful meal. This is a good spot for travelers. It's a small cafe attached to a convenient store with southern style food. The place is clean, the service was quick, the price was reasonable.
