Fantastic setting on Lake Winnipesaukee with gorgeous sweeping water view of the broads of the lake and the distant mountains (the lake is about 8 miles wide at this point). According to my Google search it appears that there is over 80 acres here but it feels smaller probably due to the fact that the park is split between the swimming beach area and the RV camp ground area. The park opens at 9 AM but the line forms earlier, early arrivals get to choose the choicest picnic table locations. This is a super clean well cared for area that is great for day long waterfront activities. What you will find. Parking for about 200 cars, but the spaces are not lined so likely will hold far less. Entry fee for the beach area is $5 per adult and under that for children, see my photo showing fees. Walking trail (ADA accessible) to the beach, takes you past a open air pavilion with multiple picnic tables some with extended overhangs for wheelchair access. You will also pass a volley ball area, well kept porta potties, cold beverage vending machines, a small convenience store, and well equipped children's playground. A coarse sand beach area of about 700 feet, its nice and wide leading back to tree shaded lawns where you will find 100 or so picnic tables positioned far enough apart to give everyone some privacy. There are many BBQ pits and hibachi type grills located amongst the sites, I didn't see any signs posting that you couldn't bring your own grills but there are some banning fire pits and or camp fires. Also both sections of this park are NOT PET friendly so leave fido at home. Overall if you want a low budget day long family getaway this is a wonderful place to have it. Despite an amazing amalgam of July 4th happiness seekers, we found quiet respite on the Sunday (6th) following the 4th at Ellacoya. I think my 11yo son and I may have been the only two kayakers on the lake (cove), but damn is it beautiful and clear. Definitely loads of boaters and beach goers that weekend read more

Easy access once you are in the park. Lots of sand with cool summer water and amazing views. If you want to be sure you can park, you need to make a reservation. That took me 20 minutes! Great Park, Clean Beach & Water, Nice Playground! This park is a gem for sure! The water and beach are super clean and it's a wonderful place to spend the day watching the kids playing and enjoying this great place! They have a great playground for kids and swings too! Clean bathrooms with changing stalls is appreciated! There is a lifeguard here for people who think about that. All in all a pretty nice place! read more

The State Park campground is basically just a small field so the sites have no privacy and, If you have a site 3rd row from the water and back you have virtually no view of the water (with trailers in front of you) The State Park is also just off the highway so you can hear the cars almost all the time. It also has a private beach just for the campers. The larger beach is much better (its just a few minutes walk from the sites). And we went to state park beach area at a different time and it is also very nice, when we arrived it was full but the worker in the booth saw we had a veteran plate and let us in. When you go into the water you have to go out around 500ft+ to get waist deep. The first time I came we got the front middle site and had a pretty good view of the lake (the front sites are around 300 feet to the water). When we were setting up our cook tent a worker came and asked us to take off the walls to the tent (not that the wall obstructs anyones view but our own) other then that it was great. When stayed for 5 days over the weekend of the 4th we got the site to the far right 2nd row and we had a 5th wheel in the row in front of us which blocked pretty much everything. read more

Dirty, shit on bathroom floor, no toilet paper. Dusty roads. No trees or shade. Beach and view are nice, thats it. No campfires on sites.

This place is absolutely amazing. They have a very nice beach and the water is always amazing. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone that loves awesome lake front views. read more

We stayed here for 2 nites. It's a nice park. However I was disappointed that we had to pay to take a shower. I paid for a 4 minute shower and it took me about a minute to get the water warm enough to get a shower. And it shut right off after 4 minutes. Also disappointed we didn't have a fire ring at our site. But it does state that on their website there are no fire rings.. There was a lot of goose poop all over the place. But that is part of nature. Over all it is a nice place. read more

Ellacoya is a beautiful public beach! The water is so incredibly clear and not so cold that you can't go in. The beach is nice and sandy and very well maintained. There are grills, bathrooms, a general store and volley ball courts. The best part of this beach are the stunning views of the mountains. It is all so picturesque. I can't wait to go back! read more

The rangers here are super nice. I did have some bad experiences here the last time we went. Late morning the lot was full. A group of people who were in line in front of us attempted to let other friends cut the line, but were stopped. Once inside, we were alarmed at the amount trash blowing around and loud music. My 2 year old chased a ball into a circle of people. One grown man stared at us threateningly as if we were in his yard or something. The view, beach and water are great. It has lots of potential. I'd feel better if they had a Police detail there. read more

E-COLI in the well not good stay far away. Park is beautiful but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. We were told don't drink the water, as campers we got 2 -1gal jugs of water per day.
