We had a concern about the age limit, and so we reached out not once but TWICE and received confirmation about our booking directly from the agents themselves. Another associate called us three days prior to our vacation to let us know our booking was not confirmed because 'unresponsive' and 'neglected to communicate our concerns around our ages.' Their associates were downright rude and condescending. I would be very WARY of working with them, especially through Airbnb, they are unprofessional and unorganized and will turn the blame on customers who have been nothing but honest.

I've always had a great experience camping here, and have gone each year for about 5 years. We don't care about the pool or wifi, don't care about what kinds of programming for families they may have, or any of the other things camp grounds are pushing these days. We want a somewhat private site, we want to be able to keep our fire going as late as we want (as long as it is under control), and we want to be able to keep our music playing at a reasonable level. We have never been told to put out our fire during quiet hours, or to turn off our music. We can stay up all night having a great time by the fire and playing cards without being broken up, but everyone plays by the same rules meaning it is not a wild place and we have never encountered other sites being too loud for our enjoyment. If you're looking for some old fashioned camping - even in an RV - where you can enjoy being outside with good company all night, this is a great spot. The staff has always been pleasant as well and the rates are comparable to nearby grounds.

Clearwater has a lake, but the lots are more jammed packed and not as spacious. Clearwater seems to be more family friendly with a playground, lake, etc. Meredith is more laid back and quiet. Meredith also has an indoor pool and hot tub which is nice. The staff at both places were very friendly and both have a nice store. We drove over to Clearwater to spend the day on the beach/lake. We rented kayaks which were very decently priced ($6 single, $12 double for 2 hrs.). The water was very clear and the beach was pretty large. The only downside to our camp site was a fence beside us. It made it feel a bit less woodsy. I also felt they could clean up around the store and grounds a bit. It looks a bit rundown. Same with the docks at Clearwater. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again!

Reserving a vessel is easily done on line, and I found $50 flat rate to rent a kayak for an entire day to be a bargain. My order came with a life vest and obviously a paddle. Lake Winnipesaukee is absolutely stunning. You will see beautiful homes, swimmers, kayakers, boaters, and the sun glistening the entire lake. I had a blast and got 10 miles in. When paddling back make sure you look for the large-rectangular boat house with the American flag. That's where you dock. I can't wait for more....

However, it is only open to town residents, taxpayers, and campers at Edward Doggett Campground. There is a parking lot and they have lifeguards on duty from 10am to 4pm. The beach has a roped swimming area as there are power boats on the lake. A water-accessible wheelchair ramp looks useful and there are restrooms available but you'll have to find an employee to get the key. Look for the volleyball court as well.
