They also have a store that is open for a limited time...I forgot to take note of the times! Super family friendly and stunning view! A lot of people brought they own coals/wood to cookout. You could tell lots of people were having a great time. Restrooms provided! A few of them were out of order, but everything else was pretty good! I would love to come back!

My main issue with Dive Winnipesaukee isn't selection or pricing--it's the staff. Diving Lake Winnipesaukee is cold, dark, has a short season, rough water, and not a lot to see. I spend my personal time on this, driving the boat of the car up to an hour just to get to this shop and another hour in four foot chop to reach a dive site on the opposite end of the lake. Between hauling heavy gear and long drives, the process is already a hassle. The staff could easily make the experience better and the day better, but instead, they make it worse. I've been here a few times. I walk in through the back door to the front counter and stand there while two teenagers focus on renting someone a canoe. Five minutes pass without a greeting, an acknowledgment, a basic "we'll be right with you " or even better a "you finish this while I help this person" (it doesn't take two people to rent a trampoline). Eventually I see someone in the back room, go to that employee, and politely ask to get a tank serviced and rent another one for the day. The transaction itself is purely clinical--exactly like walking into a doctor's office. I get handed a clipboard, fill it out, show my dive card, pay for the rental, get my receipt, and get sent on my way. When checking in my tank for a simple visual inspection, the staff member behind the counter asked for the date of manufacture on the tank. I mentioned I bought it brand new last year (meaning it's less than five years old), and she retorted, "Well, I need to check to make sure it doesn't need a hydrostatic inspection." Everyone in the dive community casually calls it a hydro. Using full the terminology just comes across as insecure (like you have to prove you know the full name) or it's pretentious. During a 15-minute rental process at any other dive shop I've ever been to, there's some basic small talk. Staff ask where you're diving today or talk about local sites, and you get to know the people. Here that isn't the case. The staff is generally unfriendly. I don't like going in there, I don't like interacting with them, and I'd rather avoid them entirely. My friend who knows them, said their problem is they're the only dive shop on the lake. He says competition demands exceptional service and customer loyalty where a monopoly does not. I agree. If another dive shop opened anywhere on Winnipesaukee, I would switch to them in a heartbeat, even if it were more expensive or further away.

The house is very old so the stairs Creek and the radiators rattle in reminiscence of my grandma's house, which was so endearing. the hot water works amazing and the beds every one of them was comfortable clean, and the rooms were dark and air-conditioned. The downtown grill double booked our rehearsal dinner and gave the space to another party, (that's a separate yelp uggh ) our dinner plans were squashed, "the cottages" stepped in and helped us accommodate a group of 20 to 30 people catering from Morrisseys Front Porch and using the outdoor areas on a beautiful summer night the evening was a smashing success. I will say that one of the best parts of my son's wedding was being able to stay at the cottages where we all gathered and had an amazing time we were due to leave on Monday, but extended our stay till Wednesday. the proximity of this property to stores and restaurants made everything so easy . And expansive wifi that covered our site, even when cell service was very weak. (We had to ask, the password is the phone number on the map they give you.) It's an easy drive to Lake Winnipesaukee. There is also Albee Beach in between on Lake Wentworth. A caveat, it was rather empty when we went, so I don't know what it would be like fully booked.

But it's worth it for the physically fit adventurous type as 'Moose Island' is a 2 minute swim offshore!!! And it used to have a picnic table on it... The tent and cabin sites (most) are nestled in a nice hemlock, pine. oak. maple forest... the Batrooms are nice stained wood ones with ample shower stalls, toilets and a washer & dryer (in bad shape last time I was there, but useful nonetheless!!! The parking is fine; the staff are nice and there is plenty of FREE wood for campfires...Additionally a 5 minute walk South down Roberts cove road takes you to a nice Alton town beach with parking if you drive, but the walk is nice past a cute little frog pond and some beautiful houses... another 5 minute walk will take you to the really cool Roberts Cove Marina with its mahogany boats, swim dock, float & little beach... They conveniently sell old-fashioned soda pop out of a little antique fridge... cheap!!! relatively in these inflationary times; they have a boat launch for access to the Big Lake proper, towns on the lake via boat, a nice secluded walkway/deck along a rocky wall where nice boats are docked for the season and moored out in the lake... It's NOT the best campground, but in Alton where there are few campgrounds it serves the purpose!!! Good Luick!!! And visit Alton's Roberts cove Town beach!!! It's the best!!! This place is great!!! I love it here, very quiet and peaceful. It is very close to all the action…read morethough, like Wiers beach, water parks, drive in movies, arades and great resturants. There is access to a little mini beach. It is right on the water, but you cant see it or anything. There is no lake views. Still the price is better that ever. You can camp in a tent, RV sites or rent an RV. You can also rent a cabin, which is what we do. The cabin are clean and really cozy. This is great for like a couple or family vacation. I wouldnt bring tons and tons of people thinking your going to be loud all night because, its not like that. Its for a relaxing vacation far away from the hectic city life in Boston. Could be better.
