Overall, they were patient, explained the boat well, and were really flexible with our requests. The bowrider was a good model of boat for my wife and I. I do not recommend Goodhue Boat Company…read more After a couple of good days enjoying the lakes with our family we decided to take a cruise around Frye island to try to catch a famous Sebago sunset. About 3/4 of the way around the island the boat just died. I've been around boats all of my life so I took 45 minutes trying to diagnose the problem. When we couldn't figure it out we called Goodhue knowing it was after hours. We then called several emergency services for them all to go to voicemail. 911 got us tow Sebago after 3 hours to rescue us for a $700 tow. We sat through a thunderstorm, 30 mph winds and an anchor which did not hold the boat. Luckily enough I was able to swim close enough to a mooring and latch on before ending up on the rocks. The next morning I called Goodhue just before they opened and explained what happened. They sent someone out 2 hours later who determined the boat ran out of gas. I watched that gas gauge fall from 100% every single decimal to its final reading of 72.8%. This gave me every indication that the gas gauge was working correctly. I said to my family several times over 2 days that "this boat either has a gigantic gas tank or is extremely efficient". I honestly could not believe that the boat had run out of gas. Goodhue does not want to take responsibility for their faulty equipment causing a very dangerous and life threatening situation. They claim to have explained the gas gauge doesn't work, but a teenager mumbling during a safety briefing that the gas gauge might not work isn't properly notifying a customer of faulty equipment. Expectations of something so vital should be plastered on the dash or handed on a piece of paper to the renter. While this is the second time we have rented from Goodhue, the first time didn't go well either. We had to be rescued the first time after the battery died while we stopped for lunch. We were told that we needed to shut the battery disconnect off overnight, but we did not expect the battery to die with all accessories off in less than 2 hours. I have been boating my entire life. I've spent 1-2 weeks on long lake/Sebago for over 40 years. I also live a couple miles from the ocean. I've owned 4 boats myself and my family owned multiple boats as I was growing up. I've never been stranded outside of renting from Goodhue. I had good experiences renting multiple times each from Long Beach marina and kettle cove marina. Goodhue rents faulty equipment and does not take responsibility for it. I highly recommend going to a reliable marina.

Elevated Wake, takes water sports to a new level…read more Bottom Line up Front: Customer service is definitely priority number one. Having used other water sports companies in Lake Winnipesaukee, Elevated Wake, exceeded expectations. Also, ask for Ryan and Alex! THE GOOD: Elevated Wake was Great! From the pre-flight the night before, the coaching by the crew, to the playlist during the trip, this place reigned supreme. Preflight: they stopped by the night before to make sure they knew where we were located; then they showed up the next day a few minutes early to ensure we got our full scheduled time. Additionally, they had all the gear on board to allow adults and kids to water ski, wake surf and tube. We had used other companies (not to be named here) the last two years, which dropped the ball in that area. Coaching: Ryan and Alex were spectacular! They had great patience, knew exactly what to say and do and when to say and do it. They were able to get the young kids in our group up and skiing within a few runs. Alex (who happens to be on a college water-skiing team in Florida) took the time to work with our kids and physically demonstrated the steps to stand up on skis using the tow rope. She then had them repeat the steps before getting in the water. The results success. Alex and Ryan(who was the Captain at the time) had great crew coordination and were able to effectively communicate take-off and acceleration speeds. Ryan was the coach for wake-surfing and he did a phenomenal job. He easily explained body positions using analogies, such as the gas pedal is the forward foot and the brake is the back foot, and coached body position to enables surfers to get into the sweet spot in a few tries. They both get A-pluses on a job well done! Playlist: Everything goes better with great music and Ryan's playlist was Sierra Hotel (military speak for awesome)! He had summer tunes from the sixties to the present; from the Beach Boys to Boston, Jimmy Eat World to Jack Johnson, Bob Marley to Sublime, he had a great playlist! He knows his music and we had some great discussions. THE BAD: The only thing bad was that we did not book more time. THE UGLY: Absolutely nothing! They nailed it. I was so impressed that I was trying to recruit both Ryan and Alex. Where others fail, Elevated Wake Prevails!

I've gone twice (afternoon cruises) and chosen the upper deck both times. If you or any of your guests have mobility concerns, be aware that there is a small and very narrow set of stairs to the top deck and patrons seem to rush to select their chairs. During boarding and disembarking is when the boat rocks the most, so be careful! Seating is first come first serve, and the seats are hard plastic folding chairs (i.e. no padding, which makes sense in case they get wet), but both times I've gone, the weather and the lake were calm and the ride was very smooth. Chairs are arranged in rows like a theater, so if you go with a date, you can't pair off from the crowd if that's what you are hoping. This is very much a family and friends type of outing. The captain narrates intermittently via speakers in an informative and sometimes humorous way, and it isn't at all obtrusive to conversation. Everyone politely stops talking to listen rather than trying to shout over the interesting details being shared, and now you have a new topic to discuss! People vacationing or living along the lakeshore wave cheerfully from their piers, decks, and yards as the boat cruises by, which adds an element of local charm to the outing. I haven't partaken of their packaged snacks, limited selection of mixed drinks, or beer, but all are available from the deck below. If you do go down the stairs to get something and are alone, you may lose your seat, as people are allowed to change locations throughout the ride, but no one is permitted to stand on the upper deck as a matter of safety (unless of course actively moving from one place to another). You can buy tickets at the boat or online, and there are discounts for AAA members and senior citizens. There is a famed ice cream shack near the boat launch that I haven't yet tried but reviews here on Yelp! are stellar.

Food is very good not great. Buffet. Full liquor bar. This time around the dishes were filthy w caked on food. I cycled through about 6 plates before I found an acceptable one. Someone serves the roastbeef and it was barely luke warm because it was not over heat. Dessert is grocery store like cake. I believe I am done with further dinner cruises here but would go back for the noon cruise.
