Finally inside, great setup and prices vary on new & used items. There's Something for everyone point blank. I found a few key LPs and was able to preview them on a turntable in the corner. Atlanta's best record store. This is a great place for veteran collectors and those just starting their collections. Ella Guru is a particularly good place for those shopping for used vinyl. If you're looking for a vast collection of $40 represses, maybe not as much. However, if you're a patient record shopper you may find an original copy of that. There are plenty of new releases, but it doesn't seem to be the core of the shop as much as it seems to be at a place like Criminal Records. Yes, you'll find more: Krautrock, prog, Jazz, r&b, soul, rock, indie, some reggae, old country, and a spattering of library music or African music. You will find less: other types of world music, left field experimental, dance music, techno, new age. The gentleman who runs the shop has a wide and deep knowledge of music. I've driven by a million times and finally got to visit. This small record shop does one thing, and they do it very well. In a word: vinyl. Lots of it. And they know their music, too. These people are serious about their music. And they both buy and sell collections. I got lost looking through the titles here. Great shop. Clean. Organized. Well lit. Friendly and knowledgeable folks behind the counter. They do a lot with a small space. Bargain bins out front. Inside there's a well curated selection of rock, indie, soul and pop of all eras as well as a damn fine jazz selection. Got a solid wall as well. Had some fun stuff up there on my visit. This is a spot for crate diggers, but folks who are new to the game will find it inviting and wont be overwhelmed. Atlanta traffic is garbage. It's worth the trip. Recommended. read more

I pass this shopping center every day and had no idea there was a record store here! Great selection of old and modern music! I didn't not anticipate finding anything but once I started digging in the crates I had an armful of records. I was more surprised at the prices! The prices here are amazing! Don is a shady character. Bought a record from him on eBay at a great price, and then he reneged. Claimed the record was lost in transit by the USPS, but the tracking number shows it never even made it to the post office. Tracking number 9449009699937230714935. Really tiny store that manages to pack a lot into such a small space. Nice range of used music, I've found some awesome hard to find metal albums here I didn't expect to stumble into and at a really great price. I seriously love this place, maybe shouldn't be your first choice if you're looking for something specific but if you're coming to dig you can easily walk out of here with a lot more than you budgeted for lol. Great little record shop off the beaten path, but not too far away from most things. They offer a nice range of music, but not a lot of depth in each category (simply due to the fact that it's a small store). Everything was very clean, the owner was very nice and helpful and prices seemed about average for most store in the downtown area. read more

I wish I could give this local shop 5 stars...I really wanted to trust this guy. He is a local in my neighborhood. But, after taking in some estate sale finds and admitting to Don that I was trusting him because I knew him and thought I was in good hands he ripped me off and then bragged about it to a customer....who happened to be my brother! Best record store in Atlanta by far. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly, and always has the best recommendations. He is always in a good mood, and always happy to see you. Vinyl records have become very popular again and many stores are upping their prices to take advantage of the new craze. This store is not doing that, and has never priced gouged me. Great selection, and great pricing. I noticed a woman below posted a 1 star review. If you look at her history she has only given 1 star reviews on Yelp. I'll make this simple. This is the best used vinyl shop in the Atlanta area. It's a small shop, but the selection is surprisingly diverse. And Don the owner will do whatever he can to help you find what you're looking for. Great place to sell used vinyl, too. Pricing is very reasonable compared to other shops around town. I can't seem to show up here without walking out with something special for the turntable. Summing up, great owner, great selection, great pricing, no weird operating hours. Was waiting for a quality local record store to open up close by, so I was very excited to find Ella Guru when I did. Don (Owner) has a great selection and if he doesn't have what you're looking for, he'll find it for you pretty quickly. I was searching for several JJ Cale albums, which it seemed like nobody had on vinyl. At first, Ella Guru only had one Cale album, which I owned already. The next time I went in there Don had bought several Cale albums knowing I would grab them, which I did for a great price. He had four albums I was looking for, which showed me he listens to his customers and their request. Prices are much better than the other older, larger Atlanta record shops. Also, if you're a collector of Jazz on vinyl this is the store for you. Great extensive Jazz collection! After reading the great reviews, I stopped by the store for the first time. The store and owner deserve all the high praise! The store was well organized and clean. The was the nicest guy! I had some old record albums I no longer needed. He gave me a very fair price for the records he could use and told me of other stores that might be interested in the rest.
