I was walking around Alpharetta and I saw a vinyl shot. I stopped in and bought something. They were a little bit high but not that bad overall. You come in and it's very aesthetically pleasing, it's super clean and very well organized. They don't have everything on the shelves, there was a lot of things that had holes and gaps where they were not stocked, but what they had was pretty good though. It wasn't the biggest shop in the world but they had just enough to get My attention. I was able to browse through the stacks and I actually found something and I listen to on a regular that I wanted on vinyl. Anyway. It's not what I went for but it was still a good buy. The Clark who was there was super nice and super friendly. We talked about using at the talk shop a little bit and it was a really good conversation. I appreciate it! I really liked the big selection they have here. They have literally everything. I found a vinyl that I've had a hard time finding that you can't even order on the artist's website. It's well kept inside. I will say, I was a little confused by the layout-but just follow the signs for the genre and you should be able to find what you need. Staff was really nice at checkout. Pricing aligns with what I have been seeing in the area. This is probably one of the best vinyl stores in the area. read more

I visited the Atlanta area over the weekend and record shopping was very high on my todo list. A few of the record stores I'd visited in Nashville tend to have a very limited selection of new vinyl , mainly hipster bands, and an endless supply of really musty old vinyl. This was not my experience at Comeback. Comeback is a fairly small shop but it's a quality over quantity experience. The selection of new vinyl was solid, most of it in the Rock / Pop genre. Rap / R&B is represented well too. The used vinyl is well cataloged, placed neatly in sleeves, and incredibly clean. I was very impressed with this as I don't enjoy flipping through endless copies of the same album to find a solid copy. Last but not least, Comeback Record's customer service was excellent. Their very generous return policy removes concerns about receiving a bad pressing, there are listening stations in the store, and they were happy to send me an email notification to alert me when a rare copy of an album is received. I couldn't be happier with the experience or my vinyl haul. Thanks guys and I WILL Comeback !! read more

I miss record stores. And truth be told, COVID has heightened my hypochondria. I have a hard time going indoors to shop-regardless of how well the stores may be handling incoming business. I love Record Store Day and a couple of the releases I was hoping to secure locally were already gone. Comeback Vinyl had some of the items I really wanted. They were super accommodating, helpful, and shipped things perfectly. On top of that we got some swag-which I love! Their logo may be the best in their industry!!! My favorite record store probably. Staff is super nice and helpful, their selection is fantastic. The store itself is really clean and looks great, and they have plenty of hand sanitizer available and follow covid precautions. I've purchased from them online for in-store pickup as well as browsed the selection and both were wonderful experiences. I even had to call in because I'm kind of a dummy and had some trouble with the site but they got it figured out for me and were super nice about it. I hate to say it, but after nearly four years of driving to Alpharetta during business trips to Gwinnett, I will not be returning to Comeback Vinyl. It's nothing personal. But during my most recent visit in February of 2023, I learned that they are getting out of the used vinyl business to concentrate strictly on new LP's. My once-favorite shop for quality used vinyl had been scaled back to just a couple of bins. They formerly had at least a full wall of used rock LP's. I did find a killer copy of an early Stones LP in their "New Arrivals" bin on my Feb '23 visit. So one last purchase. For me, driving to Alpharetta is a hassle. I rarely buy new vinyl. Probably 2% of my collection has been new. I can buy new online. read more

Unfortunately I moved away from Atlanta before ever getting the chance to visit Comeback in person. However, I've mail ordered from them several times. Not only are they great to work with, but the lack of sales tax makes them cheaper than driving into the LA shops. Packing is top notch! I'm 3 deliveries in and I've never seen a retailer pack their shipments so securely. I even save the boxes for when I need to mail records later. This is the second time I've been to CV. The used and new selections are carefully curated. There are no bombs here, and some nice surprises. The owners put some thought into it. The digging is efficient. The shop is clean and well organized. You can pre-listen to open vinyl on a turntable with headphones in a corner. Prices are fair and non-negotiable. CV is located on a quaint shopping Main street in suburban outer Atlanta. If this all seems a bit sterile, it is. This shop could be located anywhere. But sometimes I like that. I have been buying vinyl for 10 years. My three collector buddies and I've shopped at this store at least once a month since their humble beginnings in an antique mall and their previous location in Alpharetta. Than they built this gorgeous store with either the earnings from a life insurance settlement or generous divorce settlement. As a former record business executive, no one builds out a record store like this on the thin margins retailers make from selling records. Something's changed. The owners act privileged and are far from humble. Did I just read a comment from the owner in reply to a review that said " the customer is not always right."? Wow. I have visited on several occasions to overhear the woman owner argue with customers with some white attitude and saw two customers walk out. I've also seen both the owner and her son follow people of color around with suspicion which reeks of racism recently as well. Don't carry Blues, Hip-hop or r&b records just to cater to us. I guess if you are not a fan of Liz Phair or the Allman Brothers, you aren't welcome? It's a pretty store with deep selection and overpriced merchandise in my opinion. I've also seen them only accept cash at times which leads me to believe something stinks in Denmark. I wanted to ship a record I bought from them to a friend in Philadelphia. They wanted to charge me $5 for a box that probably cost them a buck. There are several nice stores in Atlanta where I would encourage music lovers to spend their money. I suggest Mojo, Criminal, Wuxtry, Wax and Facts to name a few. They've been in business longer and will remain long after Comeback's flavor of the day has dissipated. Is worth losing customers by making them wrong rather than treating each and everyone with respect? Rule # 1. Never argue with any customer, online or off. This year they have decided to not participate in stocking titles for Record Store Day although they are still listed on the official RSD site as a participating store. For many the surge in vinyl purchases in recent years is a direct byproduct of the record titles available only on Record Store Day each year. As a local independent record store this is a major loss for their customers and community. It seems the reason for this decision, as posted on their site, is the lack of certainty as to title availability that displeases & inconveniences some customers. Of course all participating record stores have the same challenges so this is not unique to Comeback. In the past, lines form several hours in advance by the store entrance as many customers don't mind standing for hours to get a chance to buy the titles that are only available on Record Store Day. Comeback also has polled their customers in advance in past years, to help in determine which Record Store titles to request and in what quantity, - - although they can not directly control what they receive. Let's hope this is a one off decision. As an independent record store they should only expect their customers to support them if they reciprocate by their actions. read more

My husband has been coming here since he discovered it (a couple months at most) and he's almost always greeted by name when he comes in. That kind of attention to your customers really shows you have a passion for your job and I appreciate that so much. My husband ordered a vinyl to come to our house during the week while he was unable to drive out and they included an thank you card which was so thoughtful. My previous review was when I was fairly new to visiting record shops here in Atlanta and had only been to a few. Now that I've been to quite a few and have experienced RSD in a couple, I will say that Alex and Karen go above and beyond the rest. This store is in a class of it's own and literally cannot be compared. The shop is clean and well organized and has a great selection of audiophile pressings. That back corner is dangerous to my wallet because it's my favorite :-) I don't live anywhere nearby, but they are my go to. I love the location of the store! I'm happy that I can walk out of it into a nice neighborhood and not have to be "guarded" like you have to at most of the other stores In-town. Parking is also free which is a nice change of pace considering I live in the city. They also have a great online site where you can shop and have things shipped to your home for a small fee or you can pick it up in the shop for free at your convenience. Bonus....Pre-Orders are pretty much always discounted when you buy them on their website. The RSD experience at Comeback is like no other. They go way out of their way and do things no other shop does for their patrons. You will know the cost of the albums long before RSD, you will have an opportunity to vote on what you'd like to see in the store on RSD, and you will know their exact stock before RSD. The amount of time and organization they put into RSD is incredible. I show up at the shop 4-4.5 hours before they open for RSD just to make sure I'm in the front of the line. They take the time to put together the lists, so I do my due diligence and make sure I put together my own spreadsheet of what I'm there to get so I'm not holding up the line with trying to figure out what I want while standing there. and I figure out how much I'm spending in advance so if I need to make any "cuts" then I do it in advance and not take up anyone's time in line while my indecisiveness takes over. On BF-RSD this past year we were able to get through the line in 11 minutes (including checking out) because of how efficiently they have everything setup. You may not see RSD swag a lot of times, but to be honest...WHO CARES! ....by the way, just for showing up, they're going to give you a nice little coupon to use when you comeback...to Comeback (pun totally intended :-)...yeah I'm a dork) A lot of stores have to use that swag to get you in their door...Comeback stands on their own and doesn't need it at all. All the time and effort they put in to setting up for RSD is worth way more than any of that swag. So for anyone who is saying "I don't want to go to Comeback because they won't have the RSD totes or posters"...you are missing out by going to the stores where you will absolutely not know what they will have. Once you've experienced one RSD day at Comeback, you will not go any place else. You will be spoiled by the experience. Do you really want to stand hours in line only to get inside of the stores (which names we will not mention) and see that none of the records you want are even there or that they only have one copy? Because I know that Comeback will only have two copies of x album thanks to their list, then I know I need to be there at least by x time to ensure I'm second in line to make sure I can get one of the two...make sense? Do yourself a favor and checkout the RSD link on Comeback's website. I mean yes it's awesome to support any and all local independent record stores, don't get me wrong...but this review IS for Comeback, right? :-) As of late, the owners have been going out of their way to send out customer satisfaction surveys to ensure they are meeting the needs/wants of their customers. Alex goes completely out of his way to personally respond to each review, each survey, and address each concern. Recently I filled out a survey and had some ideas and a couple concerns. I received an awesome email from Alex with a really caring and appreciative response, and then a few days later I received another email with a nice surprise. He went out of his way to make me happy with something I've been looking for for quite a while, and it was totally out of the blue and unexpected. Best record store in the metro Atlanta area!! I have been going to Comeback Vinyl since they were just a stall in an antique/flea market. Their selection and service has somehow only gotten better as they have gotten bigger. Alex and Karen have expanded my music tastes immensely through their recommendations. I have learned of Daptone, Colemine, Numero Group, and Big Crown Records from them (not to mention their incredible jazz selection), and now those labels make up the bulk of my library. Going to Comeback Vinyl goes beyond just wanting to support a local business (though of course I love doing that). I go to Comeback because they have the best service and selection than any online or brick & mortar record store, and I know I will leave familiar with a new band, label, or song that I will listen to over and over again later. read more

My favorite thing to do is travel to a new record store, pick out a few releases to add to my collection, and get a photo out front. When my fiancée and I arrived to Comeback, we were surprised by not only how nice the shop was but also by the diverse collection of records. I don't exactly have your typical taste when it comes to music, and I found a couple of real gems that I'm proud to display in my collection. I'm a recent customer of Comeback Vinyl, and only a mail-order one so far, but I just have to say, in terms of quarantine record sales, Comeback Vinyl has been the gold standard in my experience so far. Very knowledgeable, helpful staff, who put out crate-browsing videos regularly on Instagram and their website, so you can easily browse their inventory. I was looking for local record stores I could support with purchases during this time, and Comeback's video browsing immediately caught my eye. I had not shopped with Comeback prior to lockdown, and I gotta say in terms of selection, service, and speed, they have been the absolute best. Fantastic selection of new and used records that are easy to find in the videos. Very quick communication and quick shipping. I emailed them on a Thursday morning with a list of records I wanted to get prices on. Within an hour and a half of sending that email, they'd emailed back, offered up different pressings where applicable, talked to me on the phone, answered questions, took my payment info, and had a tracking number for me. Records were received in the mail the next Monday, just 4 days later. I've placed a couple orders with them in the past few weeks, and the experience has been so good, if they continue to do video browsing post-quarantine, I will likely continue to buy from them. My crew and I filmed here for an upcoming documentary, and I cannot say enough for how professional, helpful and truly wonderful Alex and his employees were to work with. Not only is the space immaculately clean and beautiful, they helped us to rearrange the massive vinyl holders to perfectly fit our framing, and closed the store down on a Saturday to ensure that we didn't have audio or visual interference from customers. That wasn't the end of their helpfulness, however, as Alex ensured to go the extra mile in turning of the AC to avoid noise interference, offered additional shades to help with our lighting set up, and was clear and thorough with all communication before, during, and after the shoot. Truly, I cannot say how wonderful this venue was for filming, it is currently my favorite location for the sheer convenience. That is saying a lot, because the aesthetics alone would have made it my favorite as well. Our crew even hung around after the shoot to peruse the vinyl and we were impressed with the variety available and the passion and knowledge of the staff. I found this place about a year and a half ago and Comeback continues to be my top choice when updating my vinyl collection. And with their new digs right in the heart of downtown Alpharetta, they have twice the space and loads more records to dig through. All that being said, the main reasons I "come back" are three-fold. First, their selection of jazz records is one of the best I've seen in any store I've visited, not just counting the metro Atlanta area. Second, their audiophile is (again) one of the best I've seen and since I've really been focusing on that part of my catalog, why chance going somewhere else when I know that selection is top notch? Third, the folks that own and work at Comeback are amazing. Alex and Karen have done a fantastic job with the new space and they always make you feel welcome and like you're part of a community. And it's always great talking records with Connor whenever I'm there. There's honestly nothing negative I can say about this place. In the process of helping my elderly mother close down her long time home so she can downsize. Came across a box of vinyl and didn't know if any of them were worth anything. Brought them into Comeback vinyl and they fairly evaluated the lot and made me an offer on a small selection of them and then helped to donate the rest!
