I am not somebody who normally comments on service but the extremely rude manner in which myself (the bride), my mother and bridesmaid were treated has given ample motivation. I had booked our appointment at Dragonfly Dress Designs three weeks in advance. We arrived 10 minutes early and, despite the fact there was nobody else in the store, we were told unsympathetically to wait outside. It was raining and as the shop is not located near any coffee shops etc. we had no option but to wait outside. Lisa's manner made me feel like my presence was causing her an inconvenience, a feeling that I think no bride should feel on her "special day". So insulted and put off was I by the service that even though I found a dress I loved I decided not to purchase it. It is a shame because Lisa does have nice dresses but due to the service I would not recommend this shop to anyone.

Well, I can imagine myself in Las Vegas with a guy dressed as Elvis conducting the ceremony, it sounds much less hassle. I'm not that easy to please though, the ring has to be at least £92348924238572094 or it's a no. Whenever I pass Sarah Louise Bridal, I always think about girls who obsess over the "dream wedding" where they think about every last detail from the colour of the napkins to the number of petals on each individual flower. I have to admit, the dresses displayed in the window here always look stunning and they cater for every taste. They don't just have the massive meringue dress, they also have slightly more understated beauties. They also have gorgeous bridesmaids dresses displayed which always look very unusual. I've never actually been in but I pass to shop pretty much every day and the dresses in the window always catch my eye, they look very classy. They also change their window display every other week so they have a huge range of stock and will be able to tailor the dresses to your needs. They also stock designer dresses and much of them are exclusive to Sarah Louise Bridal.

From my own experience, brides-to-be must be the most difficult people in the world (sorry girls, I realise it has to be perfect for your big day, but can you tone down the agro?). As afore mentioned in one of my other reviews, (Confetti), my sister was planning her wedding, so I was being dragged round every bride-to-be shop in town (ugh). We'd previously visited 7 other dress shops, and 'nothing was perfect'. Which I can understand. After a long days searching, we ended up in here as my sister fell in love with a dress in the display (hallelujah!). We went in and were immediately met by a smiling happy assistant who sat down with us, and chatted about our 'choices' - and then she began talking about colours, and cuts and... yeah I zoned out (my sister was wrapt in the conversation). My sister was just about to try on the dress when out of the dressing room charged a wild woman (Bridezilla) screaming hysterically about the fact that her dress, since last fitting, had OBVIOUSLY shrunk as she OBVIOUSLY hadn't put on weight. How interesting. The shop assistant apologised, then made her excuses, and went through to chat to the lady. 5 minutes later, Bridezilla came back through, calm and collected (and smiling!), and apologised to us (!). She was followed by the shop assistant who looked like the cat who'd got the cream. God knows what she said, but the entire incident was laughed over, and then Bridezilla left. Powers of persuasion, eh? Anyway, after half an hour my sister had tried on the dress (which in the end wasn't perfect) but the assistant gave her a business card and told her to come back in a couple of weeks to see the 'new collection'. So excellent service, pretty dresses and they can tame a bridezilla? Excellent - what more can you want from a wedding shop!?

I love bags, I love hats, I'll find any excuse to buy a new scarf. And yet, this place is never the first, or even third, place I'll go to look for such items. I think it goes back to when I was younger and couldn't afford to shop here, but there must be something more. No matter how hard I try, though, I can't seem to put my finger on it. Don't get me wrong, they have lots of lovely items from which to choose. Their bags are great and often a little bit different or unusual - nothing like the same old Primark totes that everyone in Glasgow is dragging around. Accessorize is probably a great place to impulse buy all sorts of rings and gloves and purses; but I haven't really given it that chance. I think my problem is that I go here when I have money, not to browse. Whatever my issue is, Accessorize remains a great high street shop with a huge selection of all manner of accessories. If nothing else, it's great for window shopping.

I love my friend, but didn't really fancy leaving the house wearing a bird on my head, or forking out my hard-earned cash for the privilege. Luckily I stumbled upon Accessorize on Buchannan Street and their ample selection of fascinators (that's the bird-like things) which started at very reasonable prices. The shop itself it is a good one too- it's much bigger than your average Accecorize store with bigger selections of jewellery, hair things, bags, some shoes, and now that winter's on its way- hats, gloves and scarves!

These are all pretty much focused on, or closely related to, weddings. So you can expect to find hats, scarfs, bags and belts. All of these are in pretty colours and are delicately made with lovely touches of beading, embroidery and lace. Thus, the prices are slightly higher than their M & S counterpart accessories and the like but you get what you pay for. Part of this being, the extremely welcoming and extremely friendly, knowledgeable staff that have a great eye for all things aesthetic. A lovely, sweet little wedding shop that has real personality.

There is bling everywhere and they have installed a 'cat walk' kind of affair for you to prance about on in front of a gigantic mirror (alright - I did do my fair share of prancing...). I found a couple of dresses that were possibles and made an appointment to come back. The service really was faultless. I was sat down and given a drink straight away and then the woman who was going to help me came and had a chat with me about what I wanted. When my friend arrived she was greeted warmly and also given a drink. Then it was on to the cat walk! My only real complaint was that instead of pinning the dresses to fit you they simply shoved a cushion down your back. While this helps you get an idea of what the front of the dress will look like, from the side you look.... reversely pregnant! When I ask to see the dress better from the side the woman brought out a massive metal clip. Why can't they just train their staff to use pins like everyone else? I have no idea. The whole shop was a bit slick, black and 'lipsticky' for this slightly scruffy girl (or 'unique and quirky' as the woman in the shop described me..!), but for brides-to-be who want to be princesses: head here! - great service - no pressure to buy (I was in there for an hour and 45 minutes and the woman was still saying 'go home and have a think about it') - loads of dresses - funny cat walk for maximum prancing and preening!

Hobbs is super expensive woman's wear for the alpha business woman. I think even if I was very…read morerich, I could gt the same sort of thing in many other places than Hobbs. I like it, don't get me worn, the stuff is ok, not too nice, and not too bad. It is mostly simple designs, or plain colours, which aren't the most flattering in my opinion. Dresses are around £130 and sweaters around £50, and they really honestly are nothing special. I never see that many people in there, but with prices like that, they would only need a few people to go in and get a whole outfit to make a tidy packet. Very expensive and not very exciting or inspirational.

Yet, on the few occasions I've been in here - mostly with the mother - I've noticed that many of the pieces are also a little on the frumpy side as well as being for more mature clientele. However, this is a nice shop with a lovely interior, some real classy little numbers. This is further improved by the friendly, chatty and extremely helpful staff; who are undoubtedly working on some sort of commission.

When it comes to sales they know how to do it - 90% of stock gets 75% off. How brilliant is that?!

Either way, most things sold at Monsoon are high-end and, if you're under about 35, strictly for dressing up. If you prefer to buy something more expensive in order to know it will last or feel a bit more chic, Monsoon is the place for you. Although it's out of most high street shoppers' price range much of the year, the sale is always worth a go round. Lovely well tailored pieces, great for business casual and dressing yourself up a bit.

From party frocks to ball gowns, they have a great selection of dresses for everything from your school prom, university ball, fancy nights out, cocktail parties, and wedding receptions. Prices range from about £50 for on-sale items, averaging at around £130 and peaking at £250 or so. All of their dresses are well-made and tailored, in a whole range of fabrics. They also have a dedicated collection of little red dresses and little black dresses if you're looking for something sleek and classic to add to your capsule wardrobe. They don't have a great deal of accessories, but they do stock some scarves, bags, and jewellery. Lovely stuff.
