I remembered this shop was here from a while back, as its hidden way back of the centre. Whilst the jacket was checked in I had time for a coffee & half an hour later my jacket was ready for collection. Definitely great service and couldn't believe how cheap it cost, would recommend this shop to anyone no matter how small the job.

When I went in to collect my dress not only was the zip on my blush dress white but it was catching on the lining. The chap took the dress through the back I'm not sure what he done to the dress but there was the sound of an aerosol. I was told this was unacceptable condition to be given back to me and that I could come back and collect it once the zip had been refitted the next day. Concerned the WD40 had been sprayed on my dress I left the centre feeling very concerned over the state my dress would be returned to me. So the next day I went to collect my dress to find that the zipper was still white, that it wasn't concealed as it should be an that the white zip material was visible on the blush coloured dress, which instantly made the dress look cheap and nasty. and that the zip had not been sewn the whole way down, there was an open gap at the bottom of the zip. The zip had also been had stitched on the outside of the dress leaving ugly visible stiches. I then went to pay for the repair which so that I could get the dress back to be taken elsewhere to be surprisingly told that the cost of the repair had gone up from £9 to £15. If anything the price should have gone down for the state of the repair and for the inconvenience of it not being in a returnable state when I first went to collect it.

I'm totally torn about this place, so here goes…read more I recently had to get a bridesmaid dress altered, so I wanted somewhere highly recommended to go and Sew Easy got the thumbs up from my fellow Yelpers. Since it was a bridesmaid dress, I was pretty nervous about the hands I'd trust to make the changes. While I was there, I had another floor length dress I wanted to have a small alteration made to so I popped along with both. Firstly, this place is BUSY... so try to avoid any peak times to pop in. It was a bit chaotic - they got me to try on the bridesmaid dress, pinned it to size and then took the instructions for my other dress (without trying on which I thought was strange). After quoting me a figure for them both - it was on the pricier side - I paid in cash (they don't take cards) and said to come back in a week. On my return a week later, the dress wasn't ready. So I went back the next day, where the bridesmaid dress was done (HUZZAH), but my other one hadn't even been touched and I needed it for the next night so it was too late. Although I did get a refund, I'm not sure why they gave me a dress back which clearly hadn't been altered. To their credit, the slightly complex changes to the dress they did alter were done perfectly and my dress looked great on the big day. I'm just not sure with all the hassle that I'd choose to go back again.

I always have to get the trouser legs taken up and the dresses taken in. I've kind of just accepted this fact, so if something doesn't fit in the dressing room but would look the part with just a few adjustments then I usually just go for it. Suffice to say, I've taken more than a few trips to Clark's and I have never been disappointed by their work. The staff are always really helpful and chatty and the little shop is always rather bustling and it's good to see that they're so popular. Seeing as it can be quite busy you may need to wait a couple of days for your garment to be adjusted but if you need it in an emergency you can usually negotiate something with the friendly staff. I got a dress for a dance sized here once but when I went to collect it it was still ever so slightly too big, seeing as it was strapless I didn't want to take a chance and it was absolutely no problem for them to adjust it again, thanks Clark's!

I had to get straps made for for my dress and one was at least half and inch out and sat off my shoulder!! The dress required some folds to be stitched and she had made it so obvious that they were done that I had to undo them myself and a family member sorted them instead. Overall the experience was horrible and I would definitely not recommend this alterations place. It's pricey and there are other places out there that can give a better experience and outcome. Very disappointed. :(

After being cancelled last June - our wedding went ahead on the 3rd July this year at Bowfield Hotel. As we had been in lockdown I was really panicking I would not get my dress altered in time - I wanted to add burgundy lace motifs to back of my dress and along the train. When I contacted Carol she was so friendly and said she would fix my dress in time for my wedding which I was absolutely delighted about. When I met her she immediately put me at my ease and her professionalism was second to none. She also added in bust cups, and took it in at the sides. I also found her to be one of the nicest and genuine people I have met. Not only did she give me my dress of my dreams she also made some alterations to my new husband's suit for which we are very grateful for. I cannot thank her enough and would say if you need any alterations to your wedding dress do not go anywhere else as Carol and Alter Girls is the only place to give you the dress of your dreams. Carol was so accommodating…read moreand squeezed me in during a very bus period, gave me advise on what could be done to the dress I already had vs the new dress I got (we went with the new dress). I have scarring on my back which I am very self conscious about, and the dress I got was strapless, so she worked her magic to add fabrice to the back, chest and sleeves, and even managed to match the lace already on the dress. She made sure each piece of lace was attached to exactly cover any prominent scarring and didn't finish until I was completely happy. I felt flawless on my wedding day thanks to the hard work and attention from the staff here. She even gave me recommendations on other aspect of my outfit when I was worried about my shape which helped dramatically. Cannot recommend them enough! The studio is bright and airy and very clean, although it's a wee bit of a maze to get there within the building. They are cash only though so when it comes to paying make sure you bring money with you.
