You'd imagine this would not be the biggest market, which is perhaps why they have branched out to also include laundry, alterations and dry cleaning services too. Despite, ironing being it's primary focus, all the services offered here can be completed in double quick time (parents phone you on their way for a surprise visit??). The prices are surprisingly reasonable and the staff very friendly and helpful. They look pity on me, when I looked completely bemused by their laundry service related questions and said 'it's alright just come back before 5pm tomorrow and it'll be done'. That's my kind of service.

It is very clean as soon as you enter with decor being nice and refreshing. It does everything that you need: dry cleaning (the cheapest in Shawlands by far), ironing, washing and even alterations! This is a business entirely dedicated to magically decreasing your beloved garments. To do so, they offer a special dry cleaning and/or ironing service. It's doubtful you'll want to make this your regular and old faithful laundrette. Yet, this place is good for dry cleaning any especially nice dresses that are for special occasions (you know the non-white kind of wedding dresses etc...) or a really nice interview suit. While, I know some individuals (eg. the mother) who like to put their 'good sheets' in for a wash and iron. I myself, don't really see the point in ironing your sheets or curtains. Surely, if you hang them up properly when they're wet, the heavy sorts out the creases?? Anyway, if you should require or desire their services for dresses, coats or sheets this is a really nice little shop. The staff are pleasant, the service turn around is pretty quick and the prices are reasonable. In addition, to all that they also offer free pick ups and deliveries for big loads. Good marks all round - though, I'm not sure how necessary the ironing element is, therefore the holding back of a star.

The lining of the neck was leather the lady said she would need to send it to there other store due to leather I said fine. Got my laundry back and no dress. Opened the bag and they had given me someone else trousers and my other tops etc , how random!! Called them and they said sorry there been a mix up. I was thinking really ,dress to trousers!! Anyway sent my sister to collect my dress as I was working after the weekend and they said while cleaning the leather on dress was damaged and had left mark on the dress. And if I'd be kind enough just to take my dress. I said no like any normal person would. I hoped they'd have the decency they should replace or refund me . 6 months on the owner still hasn't resolved this.

These "steamies" gave the wee weegie wumen' ( small Glaswegian women) a chance to gossip and catch up while washing their clothes. This small shop takes the name of the Steamie's however it offers a very efficient service for ironing, dry cleaning and any tailoring needed done at the drop of a hat. Its cheap and fast and I've never had any problems with this little place. As the name suggests this place is owned by a Glaswegian women who is very helpfull and although I'm sure she chats away over the washing and ironing like her elder counterparts, she still manages to get everything done on time and to a very high standard.

Tried to tell me it was due to wear and tear that the suits were in this condition!! Bear in mind the suits were not in this condition when put in for cleaning. Also, the suits were sent away for cleaning and this is not done on the premises. Not sure what qualifications he has regarding dry cleaning when he does not carry this out! When I complained about the condition of the suits he offered to dry clean them again! I took up this offer as the suits could not be worn in the condition they were in. Collected the suits for the second time and one was a bit better but still had the mark, the other suit was unsatisfactory and could not been worn. Owner was very defensive and stated they had been dry cleaned as per instructions and to take the suit back to place of purchase. I won't use them again due to the poor outcome and now being out of pocket. I did request his insurance details to claim against him but he was evasive with this. Not worth one star!!!
