Helped everybody in the queue, got our few items printed, but the icing on top of the cake: The zipper on my boots broke (unfixable, on holiday & only have a pair of running shoes as back up, these were my fav go to boots to wear w/ everything!) & this man not only directed us to the nearest shoe repair store, but he fixed me up (i.e. taped my boots so I could wear them around til I could get to said shoe repair store and/or a store to purchase new shoes ;-) I felt like Cinderella as the prince was fitting her glass slipper, the way he carefully taped my boots. This man went above & beyond his call of duty, thank you sir!

I was in a hurry to get some A3 copies done from PDFs I had on a USB stick. The place was deserted with one staff member on duty, so I handed over my USB stick and told him my requirements. He mumbled something about 'checking it for viruses' without any mention of charges, and although I told him it was clean he did it anyway, and then proceeded to charge me £2.12 for 8 x A3 copies, which works out at 26.5p each, when the displayed price said 14p. I was too stunned to comment on this so left rapidly. Looking at the receipt later, the charges are £1.12 for the 8 copies, plus £1 for 'Artwork' (??). Outrageous! Somehow I don't think I'll be using this place for copying again anytime in the near future. Welcome to my first one-star review, guys.

I can't remember exactly how much it came to, but any price was worth paying to get it handed in ontime, without penalties, and they managed to photocopy it within 10 minutes which meant we had 10 minutes to hand it in. Needless to say we literally had 1 minute to spare before deadline close, but we did it. Fast, efficient and inexpensive. Phew!

Royal Mail have a delivery office/ collection point where you can pick up your undelivered recorded mail provided that you collect within 18 days and bring your slip with a form of recognised identification with you. The mornings are the best time to collect your parcels as as the office is normally quieter, loads of people go after work, with Christmas time being a nightmare.

I think I've seen more customers losing their tempers with staff in this building than I've seen in any other. However, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have late opening hours on Wednesdays which makes it possible to collect parcels after work. When I arrived there was no queue of angry customers (there were no customers at all) and I had my parcel in my hands in record time. Maybe they've improved recently. It's still only enough to get 3 stars from me but I definitely recommend taking advantage of those late opening hours.

Small queues, and I've only ever received friendly and efficient treatment from the employees here. But the guys behind the counter are really friendly and made me feel very welcome as they explained the basics. If you are interested in buying then they will walk you through and they don't push a sale. Gear also sell all manner of bike accessories, from lights and helmets to pedals and pumps. If you ever find your bike in need of some love, they also offer bike repairs and tune-ups at a very reasonable price. Though because they are well known in the area you may have to wait a few days before it is ready. What I really love about the shop is the biker community vibe. They leave a pump outside the store for anyone to use and they have helped a friend of mine with his breaks for free. Gear also sell pocket cycle maps of where best to go for a bike ride in the city so if you pop by I highly recommend that you spend £5 on that little gem.

I've never purchased anything from the Subway area of the store but it can get quite busy. They're open daily from 7AM - 10PM and were even open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. The location is great - right next to two popular bus stops, and they also have an ATM on the corner.
