Marnie is the best; she helped with every aspect of the planning all the way up to and through the wedding day. She helped in coordinating the ceremony and the reception. Being from out of state it was great having someone I could rely on to recommend places (hair salon, florist, cake, etc) within my budget. Marnie was great with answering any questions or concerns I had. She really knows her stuff. The food is delicious, trust me I've had it several times. I would definitely recommend The Cooper House for any celebration, even if it means traveling 7 hours to get there.

As soon as we got down here, a last minute bomb cyclone struck and left us to abandon our plans. Luckily, The Cooper House was available and these guys salvaged our wedding. My bride and all our guests were stunned at how beautiful the property was. We were able to have the ceremony in the old general store. The lighting, chairs, and overall ambiance was perfect. They even left us water and champagne for a toast! We were allowed to take pictures on the grounds (and we did when we got a break from the rain) and the place is gorgeous. I cannot stress how pleased I am with how it turned out with only 24 hours of planning. I can't even imagine how much better it would be with more planning. I highly recommend this place and thank them from the bottom of my heart for helping a complete stranger out.

Lots of restaurants along the boardwalk. Prices are all high and no wait for a table during low season. The views of the inlet are nice and seeing all the different boats tied along the dock was interesting. If you visit the Walk to eat at a specific restaurant, they will validate your parking if you park on their lot. Just make sure you ask for it. If you're just there to walk around, see the boats and the views, then it's paid parking and can be expensive (we paid nearly $20 for 2 hrs at a lot across the street). I've heard of people getting towed during high season for parking violations. I'm glad we visited on a nice day but Marsh Walk is one and done for us.

We enjoyed it, though probably would do a different visit the next time we are close. Murrells Inlet refers to a saltmarsh and the small village that contains it. What was neat was to admire the large amount of saltmarsh cordgrass that grew all over the inlet. There is a large pathway around the marsh, with a lot of restaurants and water activities available. Most of them were open, but not really operating at full capacity due to the time of year and non-ideal weather (rainy). Some of the more recommended restaurants in the area are located here, most with a lot of outdoor seating. There is also opportunities for activities on the water, including boat rides, canoe/pontoon and ski-doo rentals. There is plenty of parking in the area, but all require payment via your phone. It was $20 (plus a service fee) for 2 hours of parking. We later learned this is quite high for the area. Validation is available, but the problem was that it requires pre-payment (since there is no ticket), choosing a restaurant before arriving. We weren't sure what we wanted to do, so just started out with 2 hours (the minimum time span). The process left a little sourness for us newbies, and could probably be optimized for visitors.

Members from other tables greeted us and were so kind. If you're not an Elk, but live in the Myrtle Beach area, look into joining! I definitely recommend this philanthropic and community-centered organization.

There hasn't been a bad meal yet, and the service is quite friendly and fast. They set up a large buffet a few times a week and each is themed. So far I've done the Taco night, Stuffed Pork Chop night, Italian night and so on and everything has been fantastic and for a very good price. This is important considering just how much the cost of food has gotten in this current economy. Now I've never been a pork chop person but I do indeed love their stuffed pork chops. That should tell you something. Mary Bell is the woman in charge of the team preparing the dinner service and she's awesome. I've found Mary checking in with patrons in the dining area as well as being one of the folks helping people get their eats on the buffet line with a smile and a quick chat. My folks are there so much that they now seem like old friends. It's a pleasant atmosphere for sure and you will not leave hungry. I'm not lying when I say that I look forward to my next visit to the folks so we can all enjoy the Pine Lakes together again as a family. I'm talking about the dining and not the golfing. I leave that part to my Pop. Things I've learned as well over the time I've been here is that you can get a gift certificate of any denomination so if you have friends or relatives in the region and they show interest in the place you've just crossed one more item off your holiday list. One of the places that they patron on a regular occasion is the Grande Dunes Ocean Club. Our server was Madison who was awesome at getting our orders in and out to us while Abby was behind the bar fixing up the drinks for the folks and an exciting Sprite with very little ice for me ;p I know what you're thinking, so adventurous KP. So before I get into the meal aspect of this let's talk about the space itself. For those who need to know, there is a party room upstairs that can be used for a wide variety of occasions and there are also town hall neighborhood kinds of things held there as well. It's the size of the downstairs space and has its own full bar and an amazing overlook of the ocean. On a nice day this is something else. There didn't seem to be stairs to access and just the elevator which can be annoying based on the size of the groups using the space. There looked to be a coat check area here as well. Moving along. For the eats, I had to try their calamari while Pop wanted a dip and chips and Mom a salad. Mom and Pop both had a chicken wrap while I went with a Po' Boy sandwich. For dessert we all shared this awesome apple pie. Overall a fantastic dinner at a very lovely place and while this is connected to the general community its in, the regular patron is welcome to dine there but reservations are recommended since other things do happen there and fill the place up. If you're in Myrtle Beach I'd say check them out.

For $14 for three small empanadas, the value alone was very poor, but the real problem was that they were WAY overcooked. The dough was basically burned and un-edible, plus they barely had any filling. We complained to the staff and were told that they "just wanted to make sure that the middle was warm". We expected them to either give us another plate of non-burned ones, take them off the bill, or at least give us some money back, but NOTHING. Don't know who they have cooking in the back, but they obviously don't know how to cook empanadas. It's a shame, with such a nice location! We will definitely NOT be back. Based on this we weren't surprised that the restaurant was basically empty on a Saturday. Only 1 table had people on it!
