Really cool urban walking/biking trail. I've walked to end to end, as well as small segments from time to time. It's about 12 miles long, and has quite a bit of variation. It starts on the riverfront near Harbor Park, stays along the river up to Nauticus, then forks. You take it through Ghent, or the Fort Norfolk area (I recommend option 2), then re-converges in Chelsea. It then winds through grassy areas and neighborhoods before coming out at Hampton Blvd to guide you through ODU via Powatan. It then goes through Larchmont, and into the North Shore area, past the Hermitage before ending near Terminal Blvd on Hampton. It is a cool walk. Being new, the signage is not the greatest. I've found it toughest to follow past Nauticus, on the divergence, and then again at ODU. I'm sure this will improve over time. There are some really cool natural sights as well as cool restaurants and breweries along the way. This is one of Norfolk's hidden gems!

This trail stretches along the Elizabeth River with great views of the river and surrounding area along the way. I love to walk my dogs on this trail. There's plenty of runners, bicyclists, and fellow dog walkers on this trail every day. There's even people that use this trail to walk to work. The trail has a few separate mini-trails along the way. There's many places you can walk a different route than the trail and hop back on a few blocks down. The trail has a lot of variety, and that's why I like it. My favorite place to take this trail is to the Chelsea area in Norfolk. My wife and I will often walk the trail and end up at The Bakehouse at Chelsea (pizza) or Smartmouth Brewery for a few drinks! Mornings, right around 12pm, and 4-5pm on weekdays can be pretty hectic around the Chelsea area on the trail since the shipyard workers get out and take the trail back to their cars. Those are the only times I'd avoid the trail if you care about it being slightly crowded. Other than that it's a great walk!

This was a beautiful trail to hike with my two dogs. It was peaceful and the perfect way to spend a day away from the city life!

We love the fact that we can bring our son's bike back in for an up-grade/ trade-in, as well as my husband's, and they are more than willing to assist. I am "gearing -up" to bring my Specialized oldie-but-goodie in for a complete make-over, because I just can't part with the old gal. Every positive visit to Trek has been learning about inventory and exploring bikes and merchandise at our leisure with no sales pressure, whereas the "neighboring store," told my four year old to "get off of that bike," and those jerks lost 3 sales unbeknownst to them. Customer service is key. Trek bikes is the best in Virginia Beach, as well as any shop we have visited in any state we have traveled. We are life TREKKIES! Thank you so much!

I found it because as I searched on my phone this was the closest place to where I was working at that day. I pulled in the parking lot and felt like this would be fine but likely just mediocre since it's an old building. Yet what did actually take place is that the second I walked out of my vehicle I could already feel the vibe here. It was instantly calm and relaxing here. I was not sure what to order but my favorite thing that does happen is when I ask the servers at a restaurant what would be best to order especially when I haven't been to a certain place yet. I got great easy recommendations and grabbed those. The food was simply good and the whole feel in here was very nice to come to. I did have to tell my server that it was not good nor was she good either. So I took a quick video of it. https://youtube.com/shorts/cTRzPYCfloA?is=B9OPBoDb9rHKhaX9

It wasn't a planned visit but I was just…read morelooking for something interesting to look at since I had a lot of free time and the weather was nice on Saturday. I thought it would be a lot larger but the spot is quite small but it is very nice to walk around. There are also lots of nice areas adjacent to the garden and terrace as well. I parked in front of the garden went around it and then found the USS Wisconsin and the Naval museum just past the garden. I went around and finished checking out the other side of the garden after. The parking was free for 2 hrs in front of the garden and it seemed like parking in general was plentiful and open this weekend. It looked like college dormitories around the garden and some other residential areas around the middle of downtown Norfolk. There were many nice plants in the garden, the terrace was nice but not open as far as I could tell, and the koi pond was nice if someone would clean out the pond scum from the fish pond. There were small bridges over the water and multiple water fountains in the koi pond. There were a few benches to sit on if you wanted to just relax or meditate in the garden. Overall, it was a nice garden but it is not something to go downtown to see, but it is a nice additional thing to see if you are going to the USS Wisconsin and the Naval museum or if you staying in downtown area. Lots of people were exercising (walking and jogging) so it is a nice scene to pass by if you are doing that.

Great spot to walk around. There's ice cream inside too! Very yummy. Beautiful day to explore.read more
