Today was one of the most stressful days I've had in YEARS. I have brain damage and have been in…read moreremission over a year. Most people I interact with have no idea that I'm a brain cancer survivor but today I woke up with a sore lower back and screwed up some banking stuff that I am praying can be fixed. I decided to see if I could find a massage place close to home that was open and affordable. I've seen a new sign in the Walmart parking lot the last few times I had to drive there for specific items. I let my husband know I was in dire need of a massage so would meet him at home later. He asked which salon I was going to. I always check Groupon before getting beauty treatments or massages done in case one of my favorite places or somewhere I've been wanting to try is having a special. Hubby said if I could find a couples massage he would like to go with me except he refuses to have a male masseuse. So, there was a Groupon for a Thai massage but I called the place and they only did 30 minute massages and there was only one therapist there so we would have to take turns. Then he reminded me that I mentioned seeing a new place by Walmart. I called the "new" place and they were so friendly and accommodating otp. I could do a massage alone, or with my husband as a couple's massage, they suggested a body, face, & head massage they are promoting this month. $100 for all three. I'm super picky about my hair and didn't want to get it wet so asked for the couples massage. My husband had Tiffany and mine was Crystal.. I wasn't expecting to truly relax, I stress about a lot of things. Like can't go to bed sometimes because I'm worried about the kids or my best friend's recent widow. I was laying there enjoying the massage and trying to figure out how to fix the bank problem and get a different contractor to fix my Dad's house then all of a sudden the worry & stress was gone! Like *poof* that kind of gone and she put a warm stone in each of my hands. It was a surprised to have the stress switch just turned off. And when I say that we get massages everywhere I'm being totally serious. Maybe it's because the older we get the more we ache. At one point I was in a yoga pose from my favorite instructor. Happy baby or child's pose, something like that but when I looked over at my hubby he was being walked all over by Tiffany and was super relaxed. When we checked out I felt great and I saw 2 spaces that looked like they should be in a hair salon so I told the man at the register, "Oh! You do have a hair salon area! I was afraid to book the face & head massage because if I get my hair wet I will have to go to the salon to get it fixed and I don't have time tomorrow." He was so nice and said they could have blow dried my hair as part of my session. But I specifically asked otp when I booked the massages if I would leave the salon with wet hair if I booked the massage special and the lady I spoke to said, "just a little wet, we can towel dry for you." So both my husband and I will come again and ask for our same therapists. Just the fact that while my stress was churning like a generator in a neighborhood without power Crystal persevered and I am a professional worrier! Actually that's not true that would mean I would get paid to stress for people! I would be a billionaire! I'm far from it but I really am going to try the triple special before it expires. The salon smelled nice & the shopping center it is in doesn't have a lot of parking after 5pm because there are several restaurants and a Walmart in the same parking lot.

Before booking with Leah (I went to a recommended practitioner that was close to my home) I had a nightmare experience. I had decided then and there I need to find another provider. Leah and her staff were also on a recommend list... my partner reached out to Leah and explained our situation of the horrible experience we just had and hoped Leah could take me for the rest of my massages/treatment. Leah was so accommodating and amazing on the phone. She got me in right away. First session was a complete turn around for my Treatment. I say TREATMENT cause that's what Leah provides. I was already from the surgery in so much pain that after the first session I knew I was in good hands. Now, recovery and the steps are brutal, but Leah is caring and dedicated to caring for her clients as a whole. Leah and her daughter took great care of me. I honestly feel Leah took better care of me in after care than my doctor. I'm sorry but true. ‍ Leah was super informative and really help me understand what was going on with my body and how to handle scar care. Very empowering. I will never forget that. Thank you Leah you are a healer hope all is well with y'all. Posting a current pic. 2yrs post op

She also was the only one willing to accommodate the fact that I would only be able to do 9 massages and adjusted her packages without telling me I'd have to double up one day like the other places did (money grab in my opinion.) I ended up only being able to do 8 massages (my own fault not hers) but again she accommodated this by gifting me a faja since I had paid the 9 upfront. Highly recommend her if you are getting your post-op massages in Houston!

My mom wanted a very light and relaxing massage and I needed a deep tissue massage to work out knots. Kelli has very strong hands and worked the knots on my back relentlessly. I'll be sore later but the massage therapy was exactly what I needed. Rhonda did our facials and this was also incredible. She was extremely knowledgeable about the skin and what your body is telling you through your skin. She did a great job and our faces looked and felt amazing after. The spa is a little hidden in a business office environment and it's no frills unlike other spas (i.e. You're not going to hang out in a tea room in a robe), however the place was very clean, cozy, smelled great, and each room was designed perfectly and had the proper cozy ambience. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this small business!
