We always will have to have parents permission as for now parents are required to be in the room with underage clients. Some therapies we do in the office may not require a parent in the room as in Z health or stretching.

This was our first time doing a hammam and we were thoroughly impressed. The staff were very warm and professional from the moment we entered and the facilities were clean and welcoming. Our masseuses, Jessica and Alicia, were firm but gentle, making sure that every part of our bodies were treated with care. Our experience ended with some delicious Moroccan tea and baklava treats. Our skin felt so smooth and we felt so refreshed afterwards. It was a unique experience different from any other massage we've had before. Would definitely consider coming back and recommend to anyone looking to try a new type of massage!

TLDR: Yes, yes. A thousand times, yes…read more In advance of our trip to Houston, I started watching food reviewers to get ideas of where to eat. That shifted my IG algorithm to include things to do...and I've never been happier. I saw a video depicting their Hammam treatment where you hang out in steam, they soap you up, and then exfoliate you. Never done it, asked the wife, and I booked it. Glad we did, phenomenal experience. Detailed step by step of our experience to help the uninitiated know what to expect. 1. Online booking. Simple, fast, requires 20% deposit. 10/10. 2. Confirmation text to check if I needed to reschedule. 10/10. 3. We arrived 10 minutes early. Front door was locked but the desk attendant let us in quickly and relocked the door. Considering the level of undress we were about to be in, 100% on board with that. 10/10. 4. Check in and sit in these awesome high-back padded chairs while we wait. 10/10. 5. Quickly greeted by the staff who will be providing our treatment and led to a small changing room. There they instruct us to strip down and put on disposable underwear, a nice robe, and slide on sandals. I'm a big guy, so they switched out the 3 items for bigger versions. I was happily surprised they had a 4XL robe and sandals to fit my size 16 feet. The paper underwear was made of the same material as a dentist bib/disposable surgical gown, and covered what boxers would cover-down to mid/lower thigh. Wife's paper undies were more like a string bikini bottom. We were not quite sure what to expect, but it provided for an appropriate level of modesty. The room contained multiple lockers with keys so that we were able to secure our belongings. 10/10. 6. We were then led to a steamy room, removed our robes, and carefully helped up onto the padded platforms. Once seated we were rinsed with warm water and soaped up. Then they got us bottled water (cold or room temperature, our choice) and left us to steam in the the 103°F room. Sweat, sweat, sweat. They checked in a couple of times to make sure we were okay, which I appreciated. That steam was no joke. 10/10. 7. After maybe 10-15 minutes, we moved into another room that looked identical, rubber mats on elevated platforms. But this time we laid down and the treatments started. Warm water poured over body, light scrubbing of face, and some treatment painted on my face. Then it was really same thing over and over with different parts of the body. Pour water, scrub with the mits, and exfoliate years of dead skin. Years. 10/10. 8. The women who provided our treatments were great, social in response to our talking but not trying to talk the whole time. Gotta love that with any kind of spa treatment, let the client decide the talking level. At some point, she rinsed off the face treatment and scrubbed my face a little more. 10/10. 9. So they keep doing their thing, having us move arms, tilt neck, roll on side, etc., so that they can get to all of our parts. We'll, most. Going back to the distinct differences in our disposable underwear, wife got way more of her upper legs/buttocks scrubbed. My scrubbing stopped just above the knee and resumed above the waste. And honestly, I get why-guys can be/are creeps. It did leave, however, a large area of me unexfoliated. 9/10. 10. After that, had us sit up, more water pouring to rinse off the dead skin and touching up spots that needed a little more scrubbing. Once rinsed and cleaned, got a scalp treatment/shampooing. Nice touch. 10/10. 11. They helped us put our robes back on and we were led to our changing room were they did a rose water spritz and argon oil serum face treatment. We were then left alone to get dressed. 10/10. 12. Ended the experience in the Tea Room where we enjoyed wonderful hot Moroccan tea and some baklava. What a wonderful treat! Thanks for reading my novel. Hopefully it covered questions you might have if you have never had this experience before. We thought it was fantastic, and it is going on our growing list of "must-dos" when visiting Houston.

With such an active lifestyle, discovering River Oaks Drip Spa (RODS) a few years back was an absolute game-changer. Initially drawn in by their Cryotherapy, Infrared Sauna, and Red Light Therapy (all fantastic, by the way), I never planned to venture into their IV drip offerings. Truth is, I have a pretty intense blood-injection-injury phobia, meaning needles into veins usually equals me feeling faint. But there's something about RODS's calm, welcoming atmosphere--and my own relentless desire to challenge myself--that convinced me to give their Myer's Drip a chance. I'm so glad I took that leap. Here's an insider tip: Tracey is genuinely the best nurse I've ever encountered. She's incredibly skilled, attentive, and comforting--honestly, she's the only person I trust with needles. The first time she did my drip, I didn't even feel the needle at all. That's pure talent. These days, juggling life as a father of four young kids, a thriving professional and national speaker, and Spartan athlete, my schedule and energy demands are intense. RODS has become indispensable for my preparation and recovery routine. If you've ever been curious about IV drip therapy or wellness treatments but hesitated, do yourself a favor and visit River Oaks Drip Spa. Trust me, you won't regret it. In fact, writing this review reminds me--it's about time I schedule my next drip!

Even though I have the basic membership, I've added on extra visits here and there. I've also used the free sessions they give out to Houston Marathon and Half Marathon finishers, which is such a cool perk if you run. They often have other cool perks pop up also! Every suite is clean, private, and stocked with everything you need. You've got towels, Bluetooth speakers, Tv for streaming. It's your own little space to reset. But the best part, hands down, is the cold eucalyptus towel in the mini fridge. Growing up, my mom always had eucalyptus around, candles, oils, sprays, you name it. I didn't get the hype as a kid, but now I totally understand. That scent is so calming. I usually grab the towel toward the end of my session, while I'm still sweating, and press it to my face or neck. It feels amazing. It's cool, refreshing, and the eucalyptus just hits. Super soothing. Sometimes I stay in the sauna the full 45 mins. Other times, I jump in the cold plunge midway through for a little contrast therapy. Either way, I leave feeling clear, relaxed, and recharged. The staff is always nice, and the vibe is calm and easy. No pressure, no weird energy. Just a solid place to take care of yourself. Highly recommend checking it out. Some hard data (for those who like the details): -Sauna temps can go up to 175°F -Full-spectrum infrared with adjustable intensity (100%, 75%, or 50%) -Interior lights and color therapy lights are fully adjustable -Optional red light therapy add-on (I haven't personally noticed a benefit, but it's there if you want to try it) -Cold plunge is available -Men's and women's showers and changing rooms available -Parking for 2 hours is free with code

The company actually has multiple locations all across the United States but this is their first Houston location. Inside they have a total of 8 suites with room 3 being their largest and fit for ADA accommodation. Each private room has a spacious glass sided sauna with temperature and time control, towels, and a TV. Temperature settings go up to 175F but I personally like to leave it around 165F. Sessions last for 40 minutes, controlled by the guest. Red light therapy is included with every session for free which is a nice addition since many studios charge for this as an add-on. Chromotherapy (colored lights) is also included for free. While the TV is available, it is limited to a few preset generic company meditation or jazz music videos unless you have a membership, when they will let you change it to a streaming service. My room was very clean and the sauna itself felt large, enough to easily spread out. Sounds like a great experience, right? Why three stars then? There are no showers or changing facilities. There is only one unisex restroom for the entire studio with absolutely no counter space. After profusely sweating for close to an hour, there is nothing better than a cold shower and clean, dry set of clothes but unfortunately this is not possible. Sure, guests could easily change in their own private sauna room, at least into some fresh clothes, but this is really a downfall of the studio. A couple of operational notes: a water bottle refilling station is available at the front (definitely bring a large bottle!), parking is free in the attached garage however be sure to register your car with the QRC and use the promo code to get free parking. I imagine that they would quickly ticket and/or tow. Scheduling online is super easy through their website. Finally, their membership rates are lower (just $79 for 4 visits a month) than some of the other sauna studios that I have seen in the area so that is definitely a draw if you're willing to drive home sweaty. New guests can try a session for just $20. Overall, sauna studios are an experience that I really enjoy so I might consider purchasing a very basic membership since it is pretty inexpensive, can easily be paused, and credits roll over month to month, however I am definitely disappointed in the lack of showers and changing facilities.

Sad to say, but I haven't quite used all the sessions since. They do roll over, but I believe 2 earned in that month expire every 90 days. You can also pause membership for about 2 months if you need to use up your sessions if you plan to cancel. You lose it if you don't use it. I like the idea of the private rooms with a glass-framed sauna. You can watch Netflix or other streaming or listen to meditative/relaxing music to pass the 40 minutes. They never rush you, even if you may be running late. In the room, you have the availability to change the temperature. Not sure what it goes up to, but I've seen 170 degrees. I usually do about 150-160 degrees. Sometimes mid 160s. Since it's infrared, it gets progressively hot. Your internal body temperature slowly builds up. You can also change the settings for relaxation, detox, energy, etc. There's a body, face and floor towel for you. At the end, there's a cool, wet eucalyptus face towel for you to cool off. Wear loose clothing after cause you'll continue to sweat after your session. It's recommended to hydrate prior plus have a small meal. I agree cause the heat can make you feel a little lightheaded. I bring a water bottle with me and sometimes fill it with Liquid IV. Drop your towels at the towel drop. The staff is friendly. You can book a session online or by phone. If you need to cancel, you have to call. There's a parking garage which you can park in using the code to get 2 free hours. You didn't always have to scan the QR code to pay, but that has since changed. I'm glad Perspire customers get free parking with the code. The hours are deceiving when you look on Yelp or do a Google search. They are actually open at 9 am on Saturday, not 8 am. Got there early once Saturday, and the door was still locked. If your session is at 9:05 am on the weekend, just know they open at 9 am. Weekdays you can start as early as 7 am and do evening ones past 8 pm. It's pretty relaxing. I've done it in the mornings and evenings. It does either boost your day or help you sleep at night. There's a bigger suite that could be used for couples, I think. Or maybe a mini ladies detox party for a small group of 3? Not sure how many can fit in it or if that's allowed, but it is bigger than the other 7 suits. They also sell some merch and juices. If you're into saunas, I recommend this infrared sauna. I use my apartment's gym, so this is nice to have. I like that it's less than 10 minutes from me. It's also great after a long day at work.
