Loved the coaches but it's run militantly to a degree inappropriate for 5 year olds in my opinion.

My child wasn't so great at basketball but he is getting better and better each week thanks to Coach Dre.

I'm a parent of a 10 year old daughter enrolled for her 3rd year here at Auburndale Soccer Club…read more It has the BEST GIRLS soccer travel teams in Queens! The training is excellent! Our coach for our 2009 girls team is perfectly on task with exactly what our girls need, bringing each of them up to higher skill levels. Girls come from Long Island towns to Auburndale Soccer Club because they know we play to win. Girls teams here win championships because they receive superb training. This is why they climb the divisions in the NY Club Soccer League, EDP, National Premier League, and beat nearby academies like Albertson, SUSA, and East Meadow... and win the Final Four and/or NY Cup tournaments. I'm tellin' ya. Get your kid in early, start them out right on a travel team, and they'll love it, you'll make friends as parents. It's all a blessing.

UTTERLY DISAPPOINTING!!! TOTAL RIP OFF!!! I brought my son here for the first time four years ago…read more I can't believe I waited so long to write this review. The Auburndale Soccer Club coaches did a TERRIBLE job when my son joined because he knew absolutely nothing about soccer whatsoever and they failed miserably to teach the kids anything. The coach and assistants had the kids running around like chicken without heads and the kids were visibly upset because they didn't know what to do. Is this how you teach 5-6 year olds? Really?! Never ONCE did the head coach or assistant coach explain anything to the kids which was utterly shocking. We went from Day 1 and by the third game, I lost all hope and finally asked the coach why there was no direction. He said my husband or I should have had my son ask for training. Again REALLY?!? With this mentality, I might have taught my son dance lessons in my backyard with 10 monkeys in tutus!!! I was so disgusted for the lack of coaching that we gave up and ended up joining a little league instead where he is flourishing. Shame on Auburndale Soccer Club for not hiring better coaches who actually can teach the game instead of charging for lessons when there is none!

Volo Sports NYC Soccer League at Sternberg Park is a Total Scam!! Avoid at All Costs and Start Your…read moreOwn League Instead. If you're considering soccer at Sternberg Park, save your money and start your own amateur league. You won't be wasting $150+ per person for Goals that blow away in the wind Fields marked by crooked plastic cones A referee who doesn't move and can't see the game An automated phone line that never connects you to a person "Weather updates" that are completely inaccurate A league that lets certain players jump from team to team A referee who plays favorites and dismisses legitimate complaints based on your accent. If you're considering signing up for Volo Sports NYC's Sternberg Park soccer league, DON'T. It's a rip off, a disorganised mess, and borderline corrupt. Our team showed up to play one night only to find the field covered in snow. Despite this, we were ready to play. The Volo referee and rep on-site told us it was too dangerous and the game was rescheduled. We did not refuse to play we were sent home. A few days later, Volo dug themselves into a hole by claiming our team "chose not to play" and that all games had gone ahead as scheduled. This was either a blatant lie or something even worse the referee deliberately sent us home while allowing other games to go ahead. We also raised concerns about the referee's ongoing bias against our team, especially after he made comments about our accents. This was completely ignored in Volo's responses, they outright refused to even address it. Volo's customer service is beyond useless. Their phone line is fully automated, forcing you to press option after option only to end up in a loop with no way to speak to a human. The weather hotline was also completely wrong, claiming all games were going ahead despite the fact that their own staff told us not to play. It took multiple emails for them to finally admit their mistake and reschedule the game. Instead of owning up immediately, they tried to gaslight, dismiss, and blame us. The volo rep is a nice guy, but the referee, an absolute disgrace. From the start, he had it out for us, making dismissive comments, telling us to "calm down" and shut up if we made loud calls to our own players in game. Other teams roster manipulation was a regular occurrence. Despite Volo doing a roll call before each game, the ref encouraged teams to bring in ringers and some of his own friends while acting like we were the problem for playing competitively. The second anyone points out that it's possible he may not be able to see everything by standing in one place you get threatened with a yellow card. I regularly come home with ankle cuts and bloody knees from other teams player but the referee claimed our team calls foul when any sort of physical tackle is made, it's a contact sport, the game is gone. Instead of rewarding teams that show up with full rosters, they create an environment where teams are better off showing up short handed so they can get a "ref approved" ringer subbed in. It's an absolute farce. Despite the referee's blatant attempts to stop us from making the playoffs, WE STILL DID. That's how much of a joke this league is even when they tried to manipulate the season against us, we still made it. Volo Sports NYC is not just overpriced, it's a scam. They take your money, deliver a subpar, borderline rigged experience, and then try to gaslight their own paying customers when called out. The lack of integrity, fairness, and basic customer service is shocking. One of the so called "perks" of the league is discounts at a bar. Except the bar is a mile away from the field, and the discount is literally just $1 off after you pay full price first. That's not a benefit, that's an insult. If you're looking for a well run, professional, and fair soccer league in NYC look elsewhere. I give them 1 star only because their volleyball league is pretty awesome and I'm happy to admit it.

I signed up for a Pickleball league in February 2024 to start in May however the league we were notified three times (April 10, April 26th and May 7th) that the league would be delayed and as a result, I can only attend half the games now. Glutton's Guide to Getting Burned: Our $4,000 Spike to the Face at 516 Elite Volleyball…read more If you're in the market for a youth sports experience that blends the chaos of bad reality TV with the organizational prowess of a middle school bake sale -- all at a luxury price point -- may I humbly suggest 516 Elite Volleyball? For just $4,000 (a small price to pay for disillusionment), we signed up for what was advertised as "elite" and were instead treated to a masterclass in mismanagement, where the only thing elite was the grift. Let's start with the roster. In a bold departure from, you know, every other volleyball program in the country, 516 Elite decided to jam 40% more players onto every team, turning what should have been competitive court time into a human game of musical chairs. Except the music was cursing. And the chairs were broken. The coaching? A refreshing mix of apathy and profanity. Nothing says "player development" quite like grown adults dropping f-bombs at teenage girls, then wondering why the team chemistry feels off. Spoiler: it's not the girls. Tournaments? Oh, we went. We packed the car, paid the hotel, sat on uncomfortable bleachers, and watched our team get absolutely annihilated in every single match. And the best part? Sometimes we traveled hours just to play... another team from 516 Elite. Imagine flying to Italy and eating Olive Garden. That's the level of thoughtfulness here. Growth? Development? Positivity? Structure? Nonexistent. This wasn't a team -- it was a tax write-off with knee pads. No leadership, no feedback, no strategy -- just a long, slow drain on time, energy, and the will to believe in youth sports. By season's end, we weren't just disappointed -- we were furious. Not because we didn't win, but because no one cared. Not the club. Not the coaches. Certainly not the program director, who seemed far more focused on collecting checks than building character. Verdict: If you enjoy watching your child regress, feel invisible, and question why they ever loved the game in the first place, 516 Elite is your jam. Otherwise? Run. And don't look back. Final Score: 0 wins, 0 growth, 0 stars.

They renamed themselves to 516 Elite Volleyball following the close of last season (2024). Don't be…read morefooled by the new name. The reason why they renamed themselves is because they're horrible at what they do. Their coaches are terrible. This club cost over $6000 last year. Between the ~$4000 in club costs (fee, uniforms, pre-season practice sessions) and the trips. I don't mind the spend as long as they deliver what they promised, training. They didn't. In fact, they broke the spirit of multiple volleyball players last year that did not come back this year. At the end of the season, my daughter threw away all her volleyball gear that she had the B&B Volleyball logo - it mad her sick to look at it and she never wanted to see it again. She was on the only open "D" team that lost just about every game in every tournament. Her coaches (Carlos and Jessica) only played their daughter or the same starters. The team had ~14 players but they only played the same 6 who kept losing. I had one of the coaches (Jessica) tell me I was lucky she doesn't punch me in my face (because I approached her after a game). This coach's (Jessica) daughter was on the team, and that's all she was interested in. The other coach (Carlos) was actually an A-Team coach covering the D team too. Needless to say, they were not his priority. Carlos only played the same six players the whole season, his starters and then spoke poorly of the other players. There was another very horrible situation attached to this club, but we won't get in to that here... most likely why they changed the name of the club. They are a horrible club.
