I genuinely would not recommend Magic Day Camp. For how much families pay, the camp is extremely disappointing and poorly managed. One of the biggest problems is the lack of attention given to the younger kids. You would think the smallest children would be the group receiving the MOST attention and supervision but it's the complete opposite. There seems to be very little awareness from Jerry and Phil about what is actually happening within those groups day to day. Phil at least comes across as nicer, but Jerry has a serious attitude problem. He expects the absolute best from everyone else while his own behavior does not reflect those same expectations. There also seems to be clear favoritism among certain workers. Some of the group counselors, especially in Abra Cadabra, come across like they genuinely do not care enough. Kids constantly lose their belongings, and instead of counselors actually going back to look around and try to find the missing items themselves, it can feel like they simply do not care enough to try. When you are responsible for younger children, you should be paying MORE attention to things like this, not less. The activities are another disappointment. They advertise this camp like the kids are going to have this amazing summer experience but a lot of the smaller activities are extremely limited and honestly pretty lame for what families are paying. Even the "big trips" they advertise and hype up are underwhelming. The overall experience simply does not match the price or the way the camp presents itself. The transportation is also unacceptable. They claim the school buses have AC, yet kids are still left sitting in extremely hot buses without proper air conditioning during the summer. Children should not be suffering in the heat while their parents believe they are being transported on air-conditioned buses. Overall, there needs to be MUCH more attention, accountability, organization and genuine care for the kids especially the younger ones. Between the limited activities, disappointing trips, transportation issues, things constantly getting lost, rude attitudes, favoritism and lack of awareness about what is actually happening within certain groups, I genuinely do not think the experience is worth what families are paying. read more

I have kids in different generations and have been sending my kids to camps since the 90s.  I know what to look for in a camp and Magic Day Camp is a great option!   My sons, ages 6 and 9, both went here last summer, and they had a great time!   They loved the counselors and had something new to do every day.  They also made lots of friends.  I love that the camp students and staff are very diverse.   One of my sons has food allergies (anaphylactic) and they were very accommodating.  I felt that he was safe there. I see that the camp has made lots of changes for the upcoming season.  For example, they changed the trip from Queens Farm to White Post Farm.  My kids didn't like Queens Farm so this is a welcome change.   Overall, this camp is receptive to feedback.  They are affordable and provide great value for the money.  Most of all, I felt my kids were safe and they had a great summer. Definitely recommend this little gem. (Reposting this since yelp took my initial review down for some strange reason read more

First and foremost I must say that Magic Day Camp is a wonderful and affordable camp. My two sons and niece as well as one of my good friends daughter attend this camp and I must say they all love it and have such a wonderful time there. Their staff is such a delight to deal with and Phil has been nothing but professional, helpful along with caring and understanding towards the kids. This is the second year my kids attend this camp and I must say I am so happy that I found them. They have zero tolerance for bullying and are great with the kids and are always doing fun activities with them and fun trips in which my kids and niece enjoys so much. Because of Magic Day Camp my kids summer have become that much better and makes it easy for me as a working parent to know that my children are having a great summer and are in good hands. I would definitely recommend Magic Day Camp. Thank you for all you do and continue to do for my children, niece and family friends. Jennifer G. read more

I would like to say Thank You to the entire Magic Day Camp staff! This was my children's first Summer in attending a camp and everyday they would come home so happy and full of stories to share. They really enjoyed the few weeks that they had attended. I couldn't be anymore appreciative and happy that they came home so excited and full of life from camp. They are already asking if they can go next year and my answer is most definitely yes! They are going to go the whole summer next time! The directors and counselors were so great and professional with handling the children. The office management was great as well. They were amazing in answering all of my questions and concerns. They were very prompt in replying back when they missed my call. Great customer service overall! I can't wait for next summer so my kids can attend and have the same experience they had this year. See you next year and thank you once again for bringing joy in my children's life! read more

This is my first-- and definitely not last-- summer at Magic Day Camp! As a first-timer at this camp, I did not know what to expect. Nevertheless, on the first day at this camp as a staff member, I was greeted with bright, smiling faces; warm greetings; and much more! Phil, the owner, and Joe, a Director, are EXCEEDINGLY cordial! I received numerous hand shakes from both of them-- a sign that I am welcome at this marvelous place! As the weeks passed by, we went on many thrilling trips such as to an air trampoline play place in L.I. called "Flight Fit N Fun", to the beach, to a community pool, etc. Overall, in my humble opinion, this camp is a great place for kids to be. Magic Day Camp is, for sure, one of the best places, if not the best place, to make friends at, to socialize at, and to stray from the various stresses of life at. Campers here are able to shake off their problems and enjoy a fun-filled summer! read more

Very fun and everyday my kids come home happy. In fact, i know they have a "no bully" policy and they are very accommodating with bus pick up and drop offs. My daughter is shy at school but at camp she is so safe and comfortable she always speaks out and has many friends. The staff is caring and kind. They pay close attention to each camper. My son and I have had the best experience at this day camp. Their activities are fun, age appropriate, and truly engaging for my son. They offer door to door service which made it super easy for me getting to work without working about him getting to/from camp. They also offer extended hours. I haven't had to use the extended hours but if I ever did it's nice to know the option is there. I haven't had a single bad experience with them and my son is always excited to go.
