I am shocked at the 4 stars reviews for this company. After numerous calls and texts, I received a call back from a gentleman named Donnie that he would come out to give me a quote. He told me he was in the neighborhood and could swing by in a few minutes. He arrived in a small pickup with an asphalt sealant barrel in the back and mentioned he would be doing the work, not the owner Vinny as I had requested. He said he could do it at that moment. Now, I spent weeks researching reviews and looking at past projects to ensure I am hiring someone that will do a good job. I have had crappy sealant done in the past that was not applied correctly. I informed Donnie that I only wanted Vinny the owner, to do the work. I did not want it done that day, though rather a day when rain was not in the forecast. I called the owner after he left and set up a date for 1 1/2 weeks later for him to come by and do the work. I told him that I didn't want the job subbed out. He understood and confirmed again the date and time. Today I was supposed to have the driveway sealed by Vinny. I put in a call and three texts yesterday and this morning to confirm my appoint. To my surprise, I receive a TEXT from Donnie, telling me that Vinny had a family emergency and he would be at my home to do the job?? Really? After I specifically told you that I don't want the work subbed out? I told him no, i wanted Vinny to do the job or I would rather cancel. He said, okay - we'll cancel your appointment. It sounds like your racsist. lol Seriously, the racsist card? WTH. what an awful way to run your business. Be better - do better. read more

Setup for this review: 2) This is the Lynch Shack's 31 year old driveway (built 1985 Hine home), that has been through harsh winters & 3 hurricanes. I have sealed it since I bought the house in 2004. I have used 4 different "sealcoating companies" that I can half remember, probably a "traveler" outfit rip-off folks when I first moved in, and of course done it myself a few times. The patient/this driveway is on life support - my goal is to seal the cracks and holes and stop further destruction from water intrusion, freezing and Peconic Propane's hulking truck backing in to fuel my tank. It's 20% appearance and 80% protection and replacement avoidance --- $$$$. Vinnie on the phone and James who came out were professional, competitive, and in the end (the only thing I care about of course) did the BEST job so far. They use very good products, he put some nice material in the cracks (not just some sand and colored water filler garbage that washes away in the first rain) , fixed the broken pieces (of which there are many) and did extensive PREP & CLEANING (which leads to a long lasting sealcoat) , lots of brushing and clearing, etc. Highly accurate application: no garage, Belgium block, or apron errors or mistakes. This company did an amazing job on my driveway! The whole process from start to finish was exceptional. They picked up on the first call and provided me an estimate in minites using Google maps. I priced out with several companies and Elite was very reasonable and competitive. Let me start by saying this- I am a hard man to please. I typically only write reviews if I absolutely love a company, or if I have a terrible experience. Last year after reading so many positive reviews about this company, i decided to hire Vinnie and Elite Sealcoating to seal my driveway. It looked gorgeous when they were done, and the guys who did the work were both extremely nice, and they did a great job. I then referred all of my family and friends to Vinnie after my experience with him, and my in-laws used him about a week after mine was done to do their driveway. It's been about 11 months and their driveway still looks as great as it did the day they had it done by Vinnie last year. In my case, about 11 months after they sealed my driveway, even though the driveway still looked amazing, I started noticing some of the cracks were starting to come back, so I called Vinnie and explained this, and without hesitation, he said he'd come back to redo the entire job. He held true to his word and was here within a couple of days and completely resealed my driveway. I've had so many contractors do work to my home and I can't say how rare it is to find a contractor who stands behind his work like Vinnie and Elite Sealcoating does. No questions asked, he just listened to my issue, said he'd be back to fix it, and within a few short days it was done. Finding a contractor who stands behind their work and keeps their word like this is almost as rare as hitting the powerball jackpot. What do you look for in a contractor? I want someone who is Responsive, Responsible, Reliable, Respectful and does quality work. Based on my experience VInny meets this standard. Our driveway is 6 years old and was in relatively good shape but in need of a seal-coat with a couple of problem areas. Vinny came to give an estimate a few weeks ago and with a fair price and good reviews on Yelp I decided to hire him. On work day (today) he arrived when scheduled, did a thorough job of preparation clearing leaves and removing small growing weeds in the cracks before applying the seal-coat carefully covering the driveway and all edges while being careful to keep all pavers clean. When finished and after paying the estimated rate, he reiterated that he guarantees his work and if there is any disappointment whatsoever when drying is complete to call and he will come back (I'm pretty confident that this was done right the first time and that will not be necessary).
