I gave this place multiple chances. I had Tammy the lash and nail tech throw my hands off the table and push the table on me and stomp away when I asked her I wanted my nail shape different. The owner Amy makes excuses for Tammy's rude behavior. I had Amy push and shove my hands and give me dirty looks while I was on a work call and yelled " stop moving " in my face. The level of disrespect and rude mistreatment is the reason they are struggling to keep clients. You will find dozens of reviews of people complaining /about being treated horribly here. The sad part is I liked it was so quite and I liked the shape of my nails when Amy did them. I am a great client. I tip well and schedule my nail appointments every 3 weeks on the dot. I was with the same guy for 5 years but he moved and I decided to try this place again near my home. When I find a great location and technician I am loyal. I cannot justify paying so much money and being treated so poorly. It actually happened 3 times. Twice with Tammy and once with Amy over the years and 3 strikes and your out. My mani pedi time is my sanity away from work and stress and having a nail tech yell in my face and being physically assaulted is not my idea of relaxation. Tammy, who has been doing my lashes for over a year, I have finally had it with this horrible, mad, insensitive woman. She just did my lashes several days back, she seemed angrier than usual, slamming these around, being abrupt and I asked her what was wrong and she said "Why", I said you seem man and her response was I am always mad. I even take a Benadryl, so I won't be itchy and more relaxed, because that makes her mad. It's very hard to remain still for over an hour. I went into Elite today to get a quick SNS manicure befitting heading out of town for Fall break. My manicure started out good , until the tech made some sort of mistake in the layering of products for the dip. She went over my nails multiple times to try to get rid of the film that kept reappearing once the top coat would dry . 1.5 hours later they sent me on my way with my nails and fingers looking like this. Oh and they gave me a buffer to use if my nails kept losing the shine. I went to the front to pay and thought they would have done the right thing and not charge me for this mess but the gentleman wanted to take 5 dollars off . He knew they were having problems with my nails as all the techs on the floor were helping assist my girl on what to do . Went to get a pedicure and a fill for my acrylics. On the pedicure.. the water was cold, and the guy proceeded to poor cold water over my feet throughout the process. The beginning of the pedi he turned my massage chair on and got the massagers stuck on my lower back and I sat there uncomfortably. On top of that the guy was rushing so much he drilled one of my toes till it was BLEEDING. During the pedi this man literally punched the bottom of my foot and my legs as a massage. Worst experience ever. He also failed to ask what pedicure I wanted and just assumed I wanted a basic pedicure, and he ended up zooming through everything within 10 minutes. He didn't even do everything listed with a basic pedicure. So I got nothing out of my money. For my acrylics, the lady came over to me during my pedicure and started drilling my nails hitting almost every cuticle making them BLEED. This lady was clearly a beginner and was applying the acrylic powder all over the side of my fingers and my cuticles, Then she proceeded to ask me if I liked them and every time I would tell her to correct something she would get an attitude. By the time she applied the paint I was getting ready to pay with one fingernail already falling off and her finger prints all over my nails because she touched them when they weren't dry. I complained to the manager and she tried to "fix" them but ended up getting nail glue on my fingers and leaving the paint job worse than it was. On my way out I heard an old couple talking about how terrible their experience was and how the man didn't even finish the guys manicure. I came in wanting a regular gel manicure, and Michael recommended SNS. If you haven't ever done SNS, I highly encourage you to do so! So I need to make an amendment to my recent review, as I really didn't feel good about posting it because it did not honestly convey my true experience or feelings. I was just going to remove my review but then, Yelp encouraged me to update it, instead of deleting so I am choosing to do that instead. Here are the good things I can say about Elite Nails: 1) The people are welcoming and friendly, especially the gentleman at the front desk. 2) The salon is in a nice location and is very pretty and clean inside. 3) It's quiet and spacious and their massage chairs for pedicures are comfortable. 4) They give massages at the end of your appointment and they do a good job. 5) The massage Michael gave at the end of my pedicure was really good! 6) It's mostly very easy to schedule something for the same day. 7) They offer a nice selection of services. 8) They did repair a nail that chipped free of charge because it happened within 7 days. Now to give my list of reasons why I will not be returning here: 1) They are a little pricier than other nail salons in my area. 2) In reference to #1, something to me that is extremely awkward is that when you pay at the end of your appointment, your technician is the one who processes your payment and they ask you if you would like to add a gratuity. This made me feel very uncomfortable and I have the sense that they do it this way intentionally because it puts a person on the spot. This for me is a problem and especially because their prices are already slightly higher in comparison. 3) I felt rushed through it 2 out of my 3 visits and they weren't busy any of the three times I was there. My first visit with Tia was not that way. She took her time and was very thorough. 4) Although my first technician (Tia) gave focus and attention to what she was doing, she left a couple of places on my cuticles with the drill that bled for 3 days afterwards and continued to be sore for several days following that. 5) I was encouraged to try the SNS Nails so that's what I had done with Tia. They turned out beautiful but on the 13th day, I had one that chipped, so they didn't last a full two weeks. 6) Elite Nails only guarantees the workmanship of their services for 7 days from your appointment. I think this is also done intentionally to bring people in more often to spend more money and also because they know that they probably won't last longer than that; especially the SNS Nails. This is also problematic for me. I immensely enjoy getting my nails done but I also need them to last, to look beautiful and be affordable. 7) My second appointment with Michael was getting the SNS Pink & White set. When he was taking the polish off from my previous appointment with Tia, he wrapped all my fingers in foil with acetone to remove the former color. I was fine with that because it's a very efficient way to do it. What bothered me was that he started removing the foil from the hand he did last and it wasn't quite ready to come off. My pinky finger and ring finger on my right hand still had a little bit of the previous polish on them and he didn't even see it. When you're having Pink & White, which is like a French Manicure, you definitely do not want to be seeing any residual nail polish. I didn't say anything to him because to be honest, I felt uncomfortable. This was my first appointment and I felt awkward. That's on me because I should have said something. 8) 4 days after my Pink & White SNS manicure, my ring finger nail on my left hand chipped on one side. I do housework but I am not hard on my nails. I don't use harsh chemicals and I wear gloves when I clean or do dishes. This just didn't make any sense to me. 9) I had a pedicure here and when Michael did the exfoliating scrub, he scrubbed my heels so hard that it stung and left red marks. They weren't large marks, maybe about 3/4 of an inch across but I felt it at the time and afterwards. 10) The main reason I get pedicures is to relax AND for the toenail polish. Since I'm going to be looking at them for weeks, I like to love what I'm looking at. I didn't like the polish after it was done, which is on me. Not saying that's anyone else's fault. However, Michael seemed very rushed and distracted while he was doing it and they looked sloppily done afterwards. He had even put a third coat on one foot and I had to ask him if he was going to do a third coat on the other foot because he was about to put the top coat on. They didn't even have a chance to dry before he was slipping my shoes on me and taking me over to repair my nail that had chipped. It was not pleasant at all. 11) I noticed during my first appointment with Michael that he seemed either distracted or absent-minded but thought maybe he was just having an "off" day. After my second appointment with him, I realized that this was going to be an issue that I did not want to have to deal with. read more

This is a long one- but I promise it's worth the read: The interior of the salon itself is beautiful, however, the people could not have been worse. I have been looking for a new nail place for some time, and unfortunately this place was NOT it. I honestly have never had a worse experience in my life at a salon, and I have been to plenty. Other places I am actually treated great as I am paying for nails that are overpriced in the first place; but at Elite Nails with Tammy, I was treated horribly. First of all, Tammy sat down and started rushing to get my nails done and did not say one word to me. It is my 21st birthday this week and I wanted to get colorful nails with a single colored splotch on the nails as a design. I told her these were my birthday nails and asked her if she could do the design, when she promptly responded "No." I was confused, but she said she could not do it because she did not have enough time and tried to see if Amy could do it, which is understandable. What is not understandable is how Amy also said "not really let me see" then walked away; I had to talk loudly so she could hear me on the other side of the salon to ask if she could do it before Tammy started putting anything on my nails, because if not I WOULD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. She ended up saying yes so I would not leave, and then they ended up convincing me to just get colorful tips, instead of what I walked in wanting... after months of getting excited to get my nails done for my birthday because as a broke college student- I cannot get them done the way I used to. Now I don't know if this is just me, but when I go somewhere to pay over $50 for a service at a supposedly nice salon, I want to pay for what I want, and not be talked down. Also Amy said that just doing the tips would be cheaper, and I stupidly believed her. By this point I was so uncomfortable and wanted to leave because of the way they were talking to me, but they were already shaping my nails. Tammy then makes small talk and asks me how old I am turning- and I say 21. She then laughs and says to me how she thought I was 15 and how that is a compliment. As a 21 year old female, that is not a compliment, and made me feel weird. After this, another employee comes over and stands behind Tammy and they begin to OBVIOUSLY talk and laugh about me right in front of me. They can lie and say they were talking about something else in Vietnamese, but I know when nail ladies are talking about someone in a way they think is discrete. There is absolutely no excuse for Tammy's attitude, because after she found out my real age and that I was an adult, she was nicer (still not great) and talked a little bit more. She was clearly trying to take advantage of me and treat me horribly because she THOUGHT I was young, even though I was wearing a Greek life shirt from my college ?? Also very strange. After this, another employee and her daughter, Kimberly, came in and they began talking to me in English; the two of them were very sweet and we all started talking after that. This I can very confidently say that Kimberly and her mother were the only reasons I even tolerated my visit there. Now, I tip EVERYWHERE after working in the restaurant industry, and the whole time I was sitting there I did not want to tip her. However, by the end, the did a good job with the colorful tips, and the ONLY reason I tipped and had even somewhat of a good experience was because of Kimberly. If she were not there, no way I would have tipped or been happy walking out of there. And the best part, after all of this, Amy tried to charge me $70 when over the phone she said an acrylic and gel full set manicure is $45. After not letting me get the nails I wanted for my birthday, she tried to charge me $10 EXTRA for wanting a different color on each nail. Which in my opinion is the whole point of a manicure because it is the color and not a design or rhinestone or anything. Then she said "we'll do only $5 extra for you" and could not manage to tell me where the extra $20 was coming from. Anyways long story short- there are so many salons in this area, go somewhere where they will treat you like a paying guest and a consumer. All of the other places I have been (Ancala, Luxury Nail, even Scottsdale Nails) will be nice to you and give you what you ask for- as that is what you expect when you go there. Visiting from another state and popped in for a quick manicure. All of the regular polish on the wall is very old or there is hardly anything in the bottle. Tech cut my cuticles into the quick 3 times and didn't apologize. Polish was so thick and gloppy and tech did nothing to try to thin it out. Horrible super thick manicure that chipped the next day. Sides of nails were uneven with polish. I see that the ratings are good so I must have gotten them on a bad day. I, however, was very dissatisfied. read more

This is my NEW nail place that I plan to stay loyal in regards to my hands/feet needs!! It is a pretty big salon - love that they have a nice Lobby where you can sign in and THEN a second room that has walls of polish colors/brands (elaborate selection) and couches/plasma TV to watch, H2O in fridge and restrooms. NOTE: Am I the only one who goes to the restroom before mani/pedi time? For me, I want to turn the phone off, not have to pee, etc. - complete relaxation!! To the left, they have nice, big pedi stations and a menu of "options". Yes, they can get pricey, but so far, they have proven to me the stellar services. While I have only been here twice, the service is fantastic, the quality is also fantastic... Im sure many of us ladies have gone to nail salons which were pretentious, less than inviting- and often times you are just another number. The lovely ladies who speak here, do so in English, which is respectful to the patrons, we dont have to guess if they're talking shit or not. This was truly an odd experience. I found myself at Elite Nails because, despite their posted hours, TT Nails was closed. So I drove to the next closest strip mall and there it was. When I walked in I was totally thrown off guard. Did I walk into the nail salon or the day spa next door? It was indeed the nail salon and when I regained my composure I inquired about a manicure. The receptionist (I use that term loosely) nearly had a breakdown. I told him it was ok if they didn't have time (there were still about 2 hours until closing....) but 5 minutes later I was sitting down and getting my nails done. I've never experience having to make an appointment for a nail salon that wasn't part of a spa or hotel resort. You walk in, you pick your color, you're good to go. Once you walk around the nice front end, its just your regular kind of nail salon! It was a total facade! We found Elite Nails on yelp (*thanks all reviewers!), called to get a time and the owner managed to squeeze us in somehow. He originally said they were booked but he had a cancellation and immediately called us. We headed over and were greeted at the door like old friends! They use OPI which thrilled us and we were each handed a sanitized package of equipment, and I'm always thrilled by great cleanliness at a nail salon! Had a great manicure/pedicure. If you enjoy going to a salon, where you walk in, give your name to someone who doesn't even look up or smile at you when you ask for a manicure, or talk in soft whispers in a foreign language as they look right at you like they are talking about you... then maybe you won't appreciate this experience. I've been going to Elite since they opened their doors. They only keep the best nail techs. The owner, who I'm sure the other reviewer was referring to, does get nervous when someone walks in, not because they aren't welcome, but because he hates to make anyone have to wait. I've gone to an appointment where he apologize over and over when I've only waited 2 minutes! They are friendly, EXTRA clean, they give the best pedicures I've ever had! If I could give a zero I would! I've been going to this place off and on for years during the summers I spend in Scottsdale until I finally started seeing a nail tech that did a decent job. On another occasion I asked if she could give me a backfill but she told me she wanted to leave early for a trip and instead did the white gel that only lasted 3 days!! You would think I would learn my lesson but continued to go because I'm not familiar with other nail shops. Well... I went two weeks ago for a fill and a week later noticed that my nail hurt and looked green and puffy!!! Yup infection!!! I went to the doctors and was told it was infection from DIRTY TOOLS!!!! The business itself is very clean, big, open and inviting. From reading other Yelp reviews I decided to call ahead to make an appointment (even though I'm sure walk-ins are welcome) that was best as to not surprise anyone and so you are seated quickly. The massage chairs were really nice and looked new. I went in for a Basic Pedicure which from the time of my appointment until the time I left was about 50 minutes. My nail tech was really quiet and didn't talk much at all, granted it was my first time there, it was just a little awkward so I spent the time taking notes for this review on my phone while I was getting the Pedi done. I believe I had Rose, she was very sweet though and did an excellent job for the price! The hot stone massage was heaven and just what I needed, I found myself wanting to fall asleep. All the people that came in while I was there seemed like regulars (and in their late 50's) half were men, which I rarely see at nail salons but I guess that's Scottsdale for you.
