Came in here to remove shellac polish and specifically asked them not to use the electric nail filer to file it off. I told them it damages my nails. They ended up soaking my hands in nail polish remover without using foil to individually wrap and after 3-4 minutes only he started to wipe it off and then file away the polish. He said he would do it little bit so won't damage my nails but it is damaged regardless. I go home and my nails are thin and brittle. What happened to taking the proper time to soaking it off? I would NEVER come back here again. WORST CHILD EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I took my son with me who is 6 years old. I thought it would be nice for him to get a pedicure with me. I did not ask for the price, as his feet are very small, size 8 toddlers, and I cut his toenails at least 2 nights before. He needed no polish. But they still charged me $27 + taxes. Other places are half that. I am so mad. So opportunistic. The experience there is mediocre at best. For the $27, he received a soak and a small massage in a matter of 10 minutes. When I told them of this, they told me that was just the cost. I did not tip, and I will definitely not be returning, and be careful moms! They took a enjoyable experience and turned it ugly. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! there service is horrible and quality is even more horrible I use to go here all the time for years but the last 2 times I went my nail has broken and I paid a lot of money to get them done and when I went back to tell him he said no he couldn't do anything to busy so needless to say I will never go there again!!!!!!! read more

Been a regular at Nails on Yonge until I moved to Whitby. People here are nice and I'm satisfied with my nails. I usually get Shellac manicure for $30 flat if you pay cash. They're pretty good with accommodating walk ins even if they're busy. read more

This is the worse nail salon I have ever been to in 20 years of having my nails done. unprofessional right from the start. Late opening so there was a line of clients waiting to go in, when finally did open they had no idea of who was supposed to be there or who was doing what for each client( just kept saying don't have the schedule). All of that can be overlooked as just a bad start to the day. However things just got worse. I was knicked(quite deeply, with blood) 5 times. Only 3/4's of my nail has polish on it, no top coat, worse looking job I have ever had. Then the most important part tools not sanitized!!! He finished my nails, wiped off the tools and put in the drawer. I now have infections and on antibiotics. DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS!!!!! read more

(This was from 2-3 years ago) Been here twice before, once when I was 12 and it was my first time getting acrylic nails, last time I came here was for my nails to be done for prom. This was the worst service I've had. The man told me what I wanted was too hard, I asked for french manicure and that my ring finger nails have just a blank nail (I am a nail artist and wanted to do my own design to match my dress). He cut my cuticules badly letting them bleed, told me my nails were too thin than filed them to the point it hurt. And finally left me with swallow finger tips and not nice nails for my prom the next day. Very painful and crooked nails. Will not go back. -- 2 years later still haven't gone back! read more

I went here to get an acrylic set. The customer service was good, and all of the nail technicians were very nice. I had made an appointment for 7:15 and I didn't get my nails done until 7:40. My nails were fine, the polish job could have been better. After i left, i had to go back because there was polish on my cuticles and it was very messy. When i went back, the tech fixed it but i was still quite unsatisfied. The job felt very rushed, even though i made an appointment.They also didn't have the color that i wanted, even though it was on display. I will probably not be coming back to this salon because of this experience. I gave it 2 stars because of their friendly staff, but I wouldn't give it any more than that. This place has the WORST service and business ethics. I went here the day I left for my vacation. I asked for dip powder nails. I paid almost $70 with tip and by day 4 of my trip, one nail had fallen completely off from the bottom part of my nail and the rest were peeling off as well. I went to the salon when I got back from my vacation, in hopes of having them fix my nails. I was told I would have to pay a small fee. I asked how much multiple times, and was finally told 10. I agreed and sat down. To my surprise she said she was finished after soaking my hands and nails in acetone and removing the botch job she did the week prior. She did not even attempt to fix them. I was about to leave the salon, and she asked me if I was going to pay for her to remove the nails. I had asked why after paying $70 a week before I would have to pay to have her take off her terrible job. She was very persistent so I told her she could use my 10 dollar tip I gave her the last time. She argued with me still until the owner told me not to bother paying her. I went in to have my acrylic nails removed and get a French mani because my natural nails were very long. Chi was rough on my hands and used a fake nail to pry the nails off which was really uncomfortable. I had to tell her three times that my one finger was sprained because she kept twisting it. For that nail she eventually soaked it in acetone and I don't know why she didn't do that for the rest of my nails because she completely broke the tip off of my index finger and it looks bad now in comparison to the rest of them. Considering this cost me 50$ and she was so rough with my hands I will likely not be coming here again. read more

I am updating my prior review since my technician has left (Annie) and I can't seem to catch a break. I have had nails done by Candy and Tom and their sets just don't compare to my past experiences. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the female manager that is usually there and she didn't acknowledge what I was saying. She giggled and said "next time we fix". I then asked when Annie would be back and she said "soon". I learnt later they Annie has left indefinitely and this was common knowledge but they were not truthful To me about it. Both times I went back hoping to find Annie I was passed into other technicians. I didn't have a neat refill - the sets were thick and I felt very rushed even though I made appointments. I won't be returning to this location - customer service is very important and this establishment misses the mark for me. Annie was a gem and really buffered the harshness of the customer service piece that has been lacking. I understand the language issue with some of the employees and colleagues usually help them out but you need to have a problem solver and proactive person managing complaints if the owner is not there. read more

Have to say she did do a very good job on my nails concidering how fast she rushed through it. I got a set of acriclic nails and expected to pay $30..but paid $45. I was asked if I wanted shellac like 10 times, but said no as I didn't want to spend the extra money. She gave it to me anyways. So annoying how demanding she was about it and even when I said no she still gave it to me and I was charged an extra $15. Not to mention my younger sister said she did want shellac and was charged $40, so why was I charged $45 when I said I didn't want it? Brought this to who I assumed was the manager and he did not care, just said "at least u get good quality". Not going back here again although it is nice inside, I'd recommend going across the street to "Nail Art". They are much friendlier and actually know what no means. read more

Never go here! I got an acrylic set and half of my nails were crooked and they were all thick and uneven. The man who did my nails rushed and wouldnt listen to me when i told him that the nails were crooked. They also didn't have the colours i chose from their samples so I had to chose something completely different. When we complained to the manager about how bad it was she said she had to help other customers first instead of taking off the nails i just wasted my time on getting. She kept laughing and talking back. A few customers actually left after seeing my nails and how the manager was acting. Waste of time... read more

I know what you mean Shiv, was there yesterday for mani/pedi...was too rushed and when trying to ask a question it was like the tech didnt understand but her english was good enuf to ask me if I wanted any extra's like shellac, a design or special massage scrubs. She painted over lumps on my nails and told me it was lines,I said look its not lines she just smiled like she didnt understand. The employee didn't give much time at all to decide what my girlfriend wanted when she realized they didn't have her colour. They got impatient and rushed my girlfriend to chose. The job itself didn't last a day before starting to chip. When she went to get it redone, they weren't accommodating. They complained that she took too long to decide last time (yes, the same woman from before). She was then aggressive removing the old stuff and left cuts on her hands. Absolutely terrible employee, although the manager did help out which is the only reason I'm giving this more than 1 star. Will never be buying anything for my gf here again. read more
